  1. do you know if they are on top or underneath the cams colin?
  2. bump. also anyone changed there rocker gasket? any tips. Thanks
  3. I can help you strip it down if bottom load cd type (should be) where abouts are you in UK? Otherwise I can talk you through it on pms'. If I get time I might try to do a workshop article
  4. my advice would be to avoid the rough treatment and get someone who has striped one down before to take it apart for you If your not confident. This way you'll avoid causing any more damage to the innards and may just get all the cd's out and it'll work fine again. I wish I had taken my apart rather than poke cd's in and out and bang the side of it. I'm now thinking because it doesn't even try to load that maybe the motor for the winding mechanism is burnt out. When I get some free time I'll take it out and test it. Everything else in mine is fine apart from a small little plastic piece from a sleeve that doesn't appear to serve a purpose. If any one has another err3 player that they don't want (bottom loading cd) that they would like to donate to my research and If I find the solution, I will fix them for free
  5. Has any done this? is it under or over bucket? Assuming it is shims and not hydrolic. Thanks
  6. If 8x is max burn, then I suggest a new cd or dvd writer. think you can pick up 52x cd writers for about £15. I've never had a problem since using a fast modern writer, I write all my cd's at max (48x I think on my dvdr) using cheap unbranded cdr's £9 for 100. It has never failed to read one (until the dreaded ERR3 that is) I used to have occasional problems with my old 24x cd writer and my old 4x dvd writer. Its just the age of the writer thats all me thinks
  7. I've got a cusco front strut with the supercharger modification but no supercharger. Will swap if you want (strut braces that is!)
  8. not all of them have an amplifier. If you do, its behind the glove box on the left
  9. DO NOT use a Lexus dealer for the geometry. they will do it wrong or half a job. thats what they did on mine. It was only £90 tho, not £200. see wheelsinmotion web site and use a recomended geo specalist
  10. it just pulls out. pry it up with a cloth round a flat head screwdriver just below the air vents and pull it out
  11. seriously, Aldi. Only when they have them in on specials mind. But for £25 you get an 24v hammer cordless drill, twin speed, reversable, adjustabke torque setting that you can abuse for a year or 2 before the battery finally gives out and throw it away and get another. I'm on my 3rd and I think there great. ps I use it a hell of a lot. also they had them in recently so don't think they'll have em in again for a while
  12. I don't think so. However I would like one as well as I have never used the key to get in and out of the boot or car
  13. probably the belt slipping and not squealing. Mine did this but made the squeal so was obvious. got the belt tightened and fine now. easy to tension the belt up
  14. I have stripped down my head unit and found a broken part on mine. I would be willing to help anyone strip there's down on the off chance its just a jammed cd although you would have to come to me
  15. I think your current rims look sweet mate although the new ones would look even sweeter in a dark chrome me thinks
  16. you can't have the sensativity adjusted on a IS200. I think the auto feature is great
  17. blimey, how bigs your sitting room??? how you tried taking the rads off and flushing them throught outside with a hose pipe? no where as good as a powerflush but can be effective
  18. the earth needs to go to bare unpainted metal. also try a different fuse as well. have you hooked up the remote switch on wire?
  19. spot on. I have the old style which is 100 times better than the flat tray. the one on post 04 cars is indeed deeper and better and can be got from your lexus dealer. I think it was around the £150 mark
  20. I had p zero nero's for a while. excellent grip in the dry but rubbish in the wet. wore down very quickly as well. I'm now using goodyear eagle f1 gsd3's. excellent tyre and last quite well
  21. agreed. also dont use a lexus dealer as they are just as bad
  22. Having stripped down my headunit this morning, I managed to wind the cartridge up and down and fish 2 cd's out of the top. I thought this might have cured the problem but obviously not. Need some advice on what to do now. I do prefer the look of the original stock headunit to the aftermarket ones and the 6 cd changer but as people have said, they just keep going wrong
  23. Mines came with new bushes. Unless your car is fairly new (1 year or less) then prepare to have a rough time as the bolts on the drop links are a right pain to undo as the allen key fitting will no doubt round off. Best bet if this happens is to get some small molegrips behind the nut to clamp the thread of the drop link and then take off the bolts. Quite a few people have given up putting these on. I had to take mine to a professional in the end (charlesworth motors). Ps don't let me put you off, give it a go but spray the nuts plenty in advance
