  1. There was at least one thread about this in relation to the RCF a few years back. I recall that nobody had a good solution, even though it seems it is a Lexus option in some markets (Singapore I think?) Things may have changed since, so I'll keep track of this thread in case a company is now offering them
  2. I saw one near Vancouver last week; it looked gorgeous. I'd be sorely tempted if they brought it over to the UK, but there is no chance. In Canada they are still advertising the F cars and LC500 with a strong emphasis on speed and performance, and Lexus are racing in IMSA. Fuel at about 90p to £1.10 a litre certainly helps
  3. I think that red one is the one I sold in 2015; the 1st registration date is the same and the mileage checks out against the GOV.UK MOT checker. See BK10 NYX Oddly the MOT checker says it is an IS 250. It looks like one or more of the 4 owners since me were quite casual about looking after their tyres
  4. I'd suggest that you check carefully what Lexus dealers offer you. I was once quoted a good price when I asked for the same or similar tyres to be fitted. Before going ahead, I checked the details, and they had offered to fit tyres with lower speed and load rating. Those may well have invalidated my insurance and would have made an interesting liability situation if one had let go on the autobahn.
  5. Belgium; lovely people, 2nd best beer in the world, lots of history, especially military...but I found the driving standards terrible, especially on roundabouts
  6. Did you drive anywhere in Belgium off the Autoroutes.....
  7. ...and if that dealer has a odd outlook, then you might be stuck. Many moons ago a salesman at Lexus Chester told me they would not get a blue or red F car in as a demo because no one wants them; it was only white / silver / gey / black that people bought. Red and Blue were the only colours I would consider, so I went elsewhere
  8. No, unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me. The pictures on the advert show how hard it is to do the colour justice in a photo
  9. Back in 2010 dealer demo ISFs were 40-50k, depending on dealer, for what was effectively the same car. There was time when there were 6 red ones and about a dozen others for sale and there seemed no logic to main dealer prices. Also, individual dealers would bounce the price of a car up and down by up to 4k for no apparent reason. I just bided my time and travelled to Wolverhampton to take advantage of the odd market conditions. Anyone know a Lexus salesman who could explain?
  10. That looks just like it; I would be amazed if there were two the same in the Chester area
  11. Any one on here? Tue 30 May, roughly 1600. A red LC turning off the A5 at Cerrigydrudion and heading up the East leg of the EVO triangle. I was tempted to follow you to see if you gave it the beans on a great road, but I was heading to Ruthin on the B5105 which is speed camera free. Lets hope, like buses, that sightings come in threes
  12. It was so much nicer than the Orange on the RCs, with a bronzy tint. If they did that colour on an RC-F I might be tempted to swap
  13. Fri 19th outside a hotel in Pulford, Cheshire. Absolutely gorgeous and I'd never seen the colour before; I had to go online to find out what it was Perfectly set off with an Ochre interior. My wife said I could buy one like it for her, as an anniversary present...... Anyone on here claim ownership, and do you want to swap it for an RCF?
  14. Not noticed any de-lam on my RC-F and it is coming up to 8 years old. Maybe it is just the GSF?
  15. I had a tracker in my IS-F. It gave me 3 problems: 1. False alarms several times. It didn't like speed bumps. 2. Some other problem that I can't recall. The technician who came out to fix it took ages to find it and told me how each installer had their favourite hidey-hole. When he finally uncovered it; he said "I recon xxxx installed this one" 3. Battery drain whilst away on a month holiday. I've left my RC-F several times for > 1 month with no problem. Maybe buy a trickle charger if you plan leaving it alone. When I discovered the cost of the subscription massively outweighed the extra insurance premium, I unsubscribed. Maybe there is an IS-F owner out there running around in a tracker-fitted car without knowing it.
  16. Done in Chester. All good and I got to try a UX hybrid for 24 hrs. A dull but competent machine.
  17. At first Lexus Chester told me to go to the dealer so they could set up stick on beam deflectors on the RC-F. Then after some more research, they said that I didn't need anything. That was back in 2017, so I can't remember the reason. I would be very surprised if an LC needs anything, but the dealers may not initially know the answer.
  18. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Seasucker mini-bomber. I've used mine for 7.5 years and find it easy and secure. A friend uses one on the glass roof of his Tesla.
  19. Booked mine today. First available slot was 20 Apr. They said 2 hours for the work, but want it dropped off at 1000 for 1630-1700 pick up. Hopefully they'll give me a LC500 loaner to take up to North Wales for the day
  20. I've been running ISF and RCF V8s for 12+ years and 90,000 miles and never heard of this, nor been offered it. Sounds like a dealer trying it on
  21. Yes, it was still accelerating. Not strongly, but I would have estimated another 10-15kph. I would guess that it was a true 168mph (270kph) or maybe 171mph (275kph). I recall one of the car magazines got a GPS measured 171 or 172 out of it It felt smooth at that speed. Living in Germany for 2 years back in the day gave me confidence that modern cars can sit comfortably at full chat. If you are near Stuttgart on a Sunday morning, you may find some hills to add a little extra speed,
  22. Lexus roadside assistance used to come with the extended warranty. Now they are doing the Relax system where the warranty comes with Servicing, you need to buy breakdown cover separately. The Lexus one includes a partner and gives me cover when I am a passenger, or driver, in any car. I think it is good value
  23. I use Black Circles, much cheaper and, through them, we found a great local garage that we now use for servicing all our other cars
  24. It took me a while to discover that there is something beyond what feels like the end of the throttle travel. Acceleration is great anyway, but if you go to the floor you get something I believe is called Wide Open Throttle and a kickdown to the lowest gear. It was certainly a WOT !!!!!! moment when I first tried it Only try it on a straight dry road
