I have always been taught that there is an arse for every seat If I have an old scrap montego but love the car so much I would probably take no less than 10k for it I know I will never get that but if someone wants to offer that then the can tow it away !!! (I don't have one but its an example) The next lesson I was taught is the first offer is usually the best offer. I know this becaus there was one of my dads customers who had a BMW estate and wanted 12K for it. He got offered 9K and refused and he wanted to hold out for the full 12 or at least a bit closer. The longer he held onto the the car the older it got and he ended up taking 8K for it Where this comes into play is if you still want the car offer him 3400 for it which he will obviously refuse and then wait ................ 6 months later (he will still have the car because not many people will be willing to pay 4250 for it) the car will be older and will have been sat for a while and he will want to get rid of it, offer him 2750 as you know this is more than he originally paid for it so he will probably bite your hand off. Play the long game with it. If it works then great. If, in the meantime it has sold, then you still have your money and you have lost nothing.

ooooooooooo one of my lights does seem a bit high Does this part have a part number ?? Maybe I can get them made aftermarket in China as it isn't a safety critical part. I will need to know what size the bolt is at the end of the ball joints I can't tell from the photo if it is 6mm or 8mm I might not even need them but if they only cost, lets say, £10, it may be worth me getting a set to keep on the shelf as a just incase

Problems, problems, problems !!!! Driving through to Poland 3 days ago I felt a slight wheel wobble in Holland. Anyway I carried on but when I got towards Hanover in Germany the wobble became unbearable and also the brakes had started to fail. I decided to pull over and jack the car up to inspect To my amazement, the wheel was loose, but the wheel nuts were tight !!!! I had a closer look and the nut holding the hub on had backed off quite a few turns. I called the AA and the took me to Berlin last night. The garage looked at my car this morning and told me that in the past someone had cut the threads back on the hub, for some reason but we do not know why so the nut had not locked on properly. Anyway as a 'get me by' he wound it back on as humanly tight as possible and has tacked it with 2 dots of weld to hold it on now there is no play whatsoever in the wheel. This will be enough 'hopefully' to get me back to England. I feel like Tom Hanks in Apollo 13 as we almost made it to Berlin on time (it was a flying visit instead of a few days stay) and we actually made it here safely and soundly with no serious damage to the car or to us. So my question to anyone out there is does anyone have a hub off a MK4 LS400 that they can spare for me so that I am not having to worry about this it would be a great help if someone has one lying around Thank you in advance

The best thing I have ever seen anyone do on the motorway is when they see a moron in the middle lane doing 60mph they pull in infront of them and then gradually slow down to about 45mph which in turn makes the moron pull out unto the outside lane at said speed and normally gets into trouble with a speeding Audi or BMW that comes up behind. Nasty trick but it shocks some people into driving the correct speed on a motorway

Really poor quality I will try to get a better photo tomorrow -
I had the same thing with a young boy today(eventhough I am only 23 myself) he tried it on with me in a 320 BMW I mean of all cars to try but he was a bit of an idiot. I kept up with him all the way upto 100mph in a 50 zone and then backed off as i thought that it was getting a bit idiotic and it just isn't worth it at all, I like my car its comfortable and MUCH nicer than a crappy little BMW, why should I have to prove myself ? Disclaimer: the above fact may not be true !!!! Oh and I popped in to see one of my customers on the way home tonight and I left my keys in the car and left it running, he quickly jumped into it and spun it around the block at alledgedly 80mph over a mile straight road through town. When he got out he said "bloody hell, thats comfy !!!"

Quite eay to be honest but they have a ballast to hide too The only problem I can see is that I have had to leave the back covers off the high beams so that the LEDs can "breathe" as they have a fan on the back of them to keep them cool -

No the HID stayed the same as they are low beam. It was just the high beam (flash) that I changed (HB3) I willl try and upload a photo tomorrow of what it is like but in the dark they are pretty good -

Yes I fitted these http://www.aliexpress.com/item/U-S-CREE-Chip-50W-Auto-LED-Headlamps-Auto-LED-Headlight-Auto-Headlamps-Auto-Headlight-LED/1160017442.html The light output in the dark is really good It is obviously not as good as HID as LED are not developed enough yet however they are 25w per side which kicks out roughly 1800-2000lm instantly as soon as they are turned on. The only downside - which isn't a downside for me - is let's say I am flying down the outside lane on the motorway at 71(lol)mph and someone decides to pull out and I flash them it will be SO bright instantly that it could be potentially dangerous. However on the plus side if I am driving through the country lanes in Wales it is really handy to have higgh beam that are ON then OFF then ON again with no warm-up time I personally like them as they are the same colour as my HID dipped beams so now it all matches -

If you get a scanner then get one with the fuel trims so you can watch what they are doing. You may be able to see the problem yourself. It is going to be something really simple. Hope it all gets sorted out and runs well for you. Do you have any photos of the install messi ? -

Yeah I put new plugs in mine too When I bought it it had a misfire on petrol and the previous owner couldn't figure out what cylinder it was on Anyway the only way I narrowed it down was by gassing the car. I was able to go through it cylinder by cylinder and found out it was cylinder 8 that was misfiring. And even better for me was that when I bought the car I inherited a spare coil pack in the glovebox so I fitted it and misfire is all gone now I am really happy with the way it drives now it just cruises along really well, can't wait to do my Eurotrip over Christmas -

Thats really good. It took a few weeks for my car to settle down and get that sort of mileage How is the misfire you were telling me about ? Hopefully it is all cleared now .............. -

I would just like to say that regarding the number plates and having BS AU 145d stamped on the corner only came into practice on 2001 Whats to say that the blank plate with no advertising isn't the original from 1998 I was told by the police on my import that the spacing was wrong and I must use motorcycle letters and spacing, he let me off but said get it changed. A few days later he caught up with me and said that my plate now had the correct spacing but didn't have any marking of where it came from but as it was on a H Reg car there was a grey area on the law so let me off again, Never been stopped since !!!! However, if he REALLY wanted to dig, he would have found out that my car was imported in 2003 so that plate was obviously made after 2001. Anyway, I am not fussed as my Lexus is legal !!! -
Fan Belt ?

Steve, no offence, but the bearings off ebay will probably be aftermarket and not up to original quality. Personally I would only go with original quality stuff. If the bearing has been on there since new, which it probably has, I would want the same longevity out of the replacement one. But just for the time being buy one to get your car back on the road and then replace it again at a later date.
