Does anybody know how to drain a gs300 mk1 rad and then how to bleed the system afterwards (or does it not need to be done) cheers jac I am still waiting for a replacement rad cap from lexus.. then I can take the car to see if i have warped the head or not With any luck its just something small

No. I topped it up with water following morning..drove about 6/7 miles and it went straight up and over red.. so i stopped in a carpark.. waited till the thing stopped hissing and spitting...thought it was safe and popped the cap..OPPS the cap shot up like a bullet ...I ducked a fountain of water rocketed out the rad and the cap was nowhere to be seen... we looked everywhere for about 2 hrs..still cant believe we could not find it.. so had to get towed home.. I have looked all around the engine thinking it might be lodged somewhere in there..i even took of the plastic bottom pan.. I Did notice something for the first time today.. I never realised ithad 2 rads The big main fan was spinning but the smaller fan next to that(the one directly behind the rad cap end) that was not spinning.. so could it be a fualt with the smaller fan or the thermostat that is making it overheat?

I desperatly need a radiator cap for a mk1 gs300... After..wait for it.....NUMB NUTS here lost his in a carpark when it overheated :iraqi-info-minister: I got towed home oh the shame... But am now stuck without a rad cap... Can anybody out there help Cheers jac

O.k so i may have been pushing the old girl for a while on the way back from the meet..But just as i was about 1/4 mile from home after doing Between 80-120mph for about 100miles my temp gauge shot up to the red after comming of duel carrage way and slowing down to 50-60mph... My rad was full but i had steam pouring out the overflow hose from the rad water bottle....The fan was o.k and working It was not slipping Either..Can anybody tell me what would make it do this.(Or is it as simple as me driving it like that?)..I was a bit worried as to what to do..stop and turn off.. or carry on slowly.. or just stop and leave the engine running... I tried all but it just stayed up there in the red..I decided to stop and turn off engine., Then once the bubbling stoped i took the cap off... As it stared to cool down to about 3/4 i was worried that it might crack the head so started up again to get the fan running... But then the gauge started rising again.. so i turned it off and hoped for the best cheers jac

Love to lower it.... Love to put a set of 17" IS200 wheels on it after seeing one on the front. :D ..1 problem though.. As always lol funds/ not knowing how to do it /what i need/ Oh and more funds..lol might be able to get my hands on some gs300 sport springs. though But also had a offer of refurbed std gs300 wheels.. :D oh what do I do..??? about 12 lex and about 8 toyota ..going from memory.. we moved on from where we where to go to a pub... we were all going in convoy.. and parked up on double yellows in main village... Lots of people all looking.. might of been at the cars or the fact there were about 20 car horns going ...lol jac

yep very well... got loads of good ideas and comments..specially when we put fidgits is200 wheel on my gs300..looks good apart from a gap that would swallow the grand canyon between wheel and arch..lol jac

Hi guys... Managed to get my interior light to glow blue like mr syphers..... I just popped the clear lens of and lined it with a sheet of transparent blue plastic that i cut to shape.. :D .. got an added bonus of a slight purple tinge from certain angles due to the plastic being slightly ribbed. Also had a look at the red door lights and think i can do something with them as well :D jac

Thank you for that Mr sypher I call lexus this afternoon an was able to do it..thin screwdriver and very carefully :D After doing it I can see that the bulb is o.k so i can only imagine that the switch has gone cheers jac
