  1. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=131132281602&alt=web Is it this one? If so, the seller stated the car was in first class condition throughout. Open a case with eBay and see what they say.
  2. Hi Pepe, I just tapped it as hard as I could without hurting myself, it took a few goes but the light now remains on. The same hasn't worked for the other displays though. Cx500, your LS400 came with garmin built in?! I suspect the video signal is some form of component RGB...more investigation is needed.
  3. Don't suppose you'd be up for whipping off the casing and taking a few photos would you? Regards
  4. Try giving the display a tap tap tap, the light went out on mine and after a furious tapping it came back and has stayed on ever since...
  5. The CD is multi track and when inserted into a PC, appears blank. I just cloned it using a piece of software called CD BURNER XP in MDF/MDS mode (not ISO).
  6. Hello all, May I draw your attention to this thread that I have posted in the AV section: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/89842-ls400-mk4-nav-unit-hacking/ I was hoping to get some replies, so I post it in here - apologies for the cross post! Regards
  7. Take a photo of the current disc and we can see what it is. I have the latest CD for the LS400 and have successfully made a backup so I can keep my original CD safe. I am happy to send one to you if you send me a stamped addressed envelope :) Regards
  8. Hello all, I notice a company used to offer freeview/tv conversions + updated sat nav for the LS400 unit. However it looks like they have disappeared off the Internet. Does anyone have any technical information on the screen installed in the MK4 LS400? My plans are to implement a reverse camera with a recording facility, then potentially upgraded audio functions. The above are fairly simple to acheive using a computer (Raspberry Pi or some other SoC board). The rear of the unit does not give any clues and is using properietary connectors thus investigation will be needed. The following documents reveal a few clues, but nothing concrete. http://www.fujitsu-ten.com/release/2001/20010106e.htm http://www.fujitsu-ten.com/business/technicaljournal/pdf/9-2E.pdf http://www.fujitsu-ten.com/business/technicaljournal/pdf/7-4E.pdf If the system uses composite then that would require little work to get custom input displayed. If using TMDS or LVDS then it's harder, but stil doable. Anyone have a spare/broken unit for dissection? Any info greatfully received! Regards, Tim
  9. That advert says the car has electric folding mirrors. Really?!
  10. Here it is: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x11auzm_lexus-ls-400_auto
  11. That's great - maybe has saved a little embarrasment on both sides. Good luck with your sale! Often seeing examples with such high mileage absolutely fills me with glee.
  12. Sometimes during a crossover period there may be a few lucky people that get parts from facelifted version whilst the rest of the car remains an older version. 100% not in this case though!
  13. Ever since buying my MK4 I have continued to look at the market on ebay, auto trader and gumtree. I am very happy with my purchase, and haven't seen anything match it yet. I'm sure there may be a reasonable explanation as to why the pics "appear" to show 2 different cars (drivers side rear wheel visible in 2 photos, different wheel in both - different dash, etc) - but it makes you wonder why people aren't exactly transparent about things? It's just stupid.
  14. I didn't spot that! The issue I saw was that the first photo showed a mk4 dash, with D-4, 3, 2, L - but the other photos showed a mk3 stereo/climate and 4 speed shifter - D-3, 2, L. Hmmm?
  15. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/96-Lexus-LS-400-LOW-LOW-Reserve-AND-GREAT-REG-NO-Handsfree-Bluetooth-Parrot-/171176564680?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27daeb17c8 Have a little look at the above pictures. Do you notice anything strange? And not the reg...
  16. I have a mini VCI interface and Techstream, I'll take a look to see if any gearbox stuff is in there and get back to you.
  17. They've another one listed now: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-Lexus-LS400-2000-W-FSH-Tax-Mot-Cream-Leathers-Fine-Drive-NIce-1500-/300998771275?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4614ecc24b Previously it was advertised here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-LEXUS-LS400-AUTO-BLACK-/261322706739?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cd80c0f33
  18. ebay ad says "FULL YEARS MOT WHICH PASSED WITH EASE" gumtree says "FULL YEARS MOT WHICH COST £300 TO PASS" £300 = EASE yep
  19. Of course. Ebay link to the aerial I bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-REPLACEMENT-AERIAL-MAST-LEXUS-LS400-LS430-GS300-RX300-SOARER-SC2-5-3-4-/111202547497?ViewItem=&item=111202547497&nma=true&si=k5IZwl2Wep3fhSWTemLzrgdWkjE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Link to the post: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/84733-quick-question-regarding-the-aerial-fittings/?hl=aerial Thanks, I'll check these out. I looked at the CD mine is using and it's showing "2005-2006 Version 1". So it has had a new CD at some point. What do you guys have in yours? Is there a newer CD? The Lexus site shows that there is a HDD with latest maps for gen 1 devices. This would make sense since all the latest map info would not fit on 1 CD. Maybe this is a drop in replacement unit?
  20. Don't do anything, just explain that when you come to sell the car. The mileage covered doesn't just relate to the engine, but also the chassis and everything else.
  21. Thanks jpjsavage. could you link me to the other thread or provide an ebay link to the correct part? Pete, I do have a sat nav disk, as my sat nav currently works. It's just wildly out of date. In fact, it doesn't even have my street on it :D. Still, it got me home the 190 mile journey from picking the car up :) I suppose I should just check the unit and see what disk is in there, then look for an updated version of that disk? I am a competent Linux user and would have no problem replicating for other users.
