  1. press the buttom that you use for the menus (display ??) on the steering wheel it will come back on. when you turn on cruise control the display always goes blank turn the cruise off and the display shows nornally.
  2. i am due a service in july / early august ,i do check my oil level but i have never had to top the oil level up since its last service.
  3. You wont have any trouble - they'd probably do it even out of warranty if you complain enough. lexus are as tight as a duck ar** i hadn't had my ct that long and i found the lacquer had started to peel off 1 wheel ,i took it back to lexus liverpool i showed them the peeling lacquer and they arranged a time to have the repair done, when the repair guy was doing the wheel i had service come to me saying they should be charging me for the repair as they found another dodgy piece of lacquer by a wheel hole but as a gesture of goodwill they wouldnt charge me,i think they thought i should be gratefull to them at the end of the day it still had an issue that was down to poor painting. just because you deal with lexus doesn't mean they will treat you well, they are only there to make money.
  4. Hi Adam if you dont have any luck you could try this link ,i know it mentions audi but i am sure they would do the lexus colour if you asked http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-Leather-Dye-Colour-Restorer-for-AUDI-Leather-Car-Interiors-Seats-etc-/380387225212
  5. i am fairly certain that the real leather in a lexus is perforated
  6. when you are dealing with a company like LEXUS you expect to get a quality service from them as standard when i bought mine this is what the bodywork was like above the front passenger door, you would of thought, they would of noticed it and put it right before collection i was also told that the car didn't need a service as it had recently been serviced, only to find out the service had been done 3months before with 3300 miles covered since the service so out of a 12 month / 10000 mile interval a third of the time scale had elapsed. i know this is petty but they didn't change the number plates to show their dealership i bought mine from lexus liverpool. i first went to LEXUS chester and waited 4 days for them not to get back in touch with me regarding a part exchange valuation so i bought from liverpool instead. i don't feel there is a good LEXUS main agent out there.
  7. no they dont ,the f sport has lateral dampers fitted front and rear
  8. just had a look at the ct's at lexus cambridge and there's 2 cars that i dont know about. 1st car fv12 hde in silver bonnet gap looks wide when compared to the other ct's ,it maybe just the photo and the other car is 2nd car ae13 wrv in grey the front edge above the drivers headlight up to the wing doesn't look right to me dont know why though. is the car your looking at either of these ???
  9. there are normally bump stops under the bonnet that you can screw in or out this will help with the alignment of the bonnet,i am sure its nothing serious or Lexus cambridge wouldn't be selling it,the sales person will lose their commission if you pull out of the purchase so again they should do everything to help you.just remember its your money you're spending so make sure you get what your paying for ,and dont sign for it until your happy. i had somethink similar, after kath had been driving for a year i bought her a toyota aygo 09 plate and wasn't happy with the tyres on the rear as they had been on the front and where badly worn on the outside edges the garage said they would change them ,but on collection they hadn't as the garage owners said he would have them on his car ,so i told him he can have them on his car i dont want the aygo anymore ,his attitude changed and we had 2 new rears the next day.
  10. thats strange colin as i had an email from lexus last year saying the £495 price would only be valid until the end of 2014, it must be a line they use to get you to buy it now.
  11. i received an email today from my local lexus dealer saying the following "For offers this good, it's worth keeping it simple. You can now get 24 months on your Lexus Extended Warranty - for the price of 12." just thought i would spread the word about the offer that is on at the moment this includes the AA breakdown cover for the term of the warranty aswell i purchased mine at christmas for £495 and you can pay monthly if you like..
  12. if you remove the boot floor and the undertray you will see the traction battery between the wheel arches and the orange plug to isolate the traction battery. the normal looking battery is located under the rear offside lights ,to gain access you will need to remove the boot floor and undertray, the boot floor cover in the offside rear by the rear lights and the undertray (held in place by 1 plastic nut) you can now see the battery
  13. has anyone tried the EBC ultimate pads(formerly known as black) how do they compare to the oem pads i can get front and rear from demon tweaks for £49.13 inc vat & p&p
  14. i know its too late for this year but i have just found some information about turning off traction control on ct models that dont have the switch you have to enter into certification mode so follow the link below i haven't tried it as i have only just found this info but i have been on other ct forums where this technique has worked for ct owners http://srmotorcars.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/how-to-disable-traction-control-on.html
  15. on my other rear wheel i had the same issue (found out on the same day) and i had to hacksaw the cap off it looked like it was brass that had been chrome plated ,the threads would probably be tapped after plating so you would then have brass on brass with a bit of corrosion you probably get the result i've had.
  16. yes they are hex shaped,i tried a spanner, then using pliers holding the valve stem and using the spanner together and they still didn't undo all i found was the valve had stated to spin,so at that point i stopped and hoped i would have enough air left to get me home.
  17. i got the caps from kwik fit a while ago the caps where only ever finger tight i.e. screw on until you feel the cap touch the valve stem then tighten 1/16 of a turn only a smidge thats why i was surprised to find the rear caps stuck on. ah well i have learned a valuable lesson i wont do it again.
  18. over the winter time i have checked my pressures especially when the temperatures where dropping so the caps have been off 3 or 4 times this year the fronts where ok but the rears where solid and wouldn't budge. i used to check the pressures more often but you get to know how well your tyres keep their pressure and therefore i have checked them less often.
  19. today i found i had a puncture,i was going to inflate the tyre so i could get to the tyre bay unfortunately the metal dust caps had seized on so i couldn't inflate the tyre, just about got home where i have a full set of spare ct alloys with tyres fitted i have had to change the wheel so in the morning i can get the puncture repaired. now i am back on ugly plastic caps as its not going to happen again to me.
  20. i have now completed some sound deadening in my ct and i am very happy with the results. i bought the foam from http://www.easyfoam.co.uk/foam-sheets.php and purchased 6mm fireseal class 0 acoustic foam sheets for under the bonnet and 6mm acoustic foam flat sheets for behind the door panels and to line the boot floor and tailgate. the under bonnet sheets have reduced the harshness of the engine and makes it sound more normal when accelerating ,i have placed it under the original bonnet sound proofing so it still looks standard.
  21. the tint on the privacy glass isn't very dark its probably about a 60% tint meaning it allows 40% of the light through,i have had cars with a 95% tint and thats dark,at night and hids dont bother you. hid's are the bain off my life ,you have drivers that have them retro fitted but the system has not been certified for use on the road and then you have the large 4x4's that blind you due to the fact they are high up,if this mirror makes my driving safer then it has to be a good thing.
  22. i have never understood why a manufacturer makes a space saver spare,as they will have extra manufacturing costs for the pressing and welding of the wheel and then a different tyre size to go on the wheel when surely it would be cheaper to use a wheel & tyre that they currently use.
  23. i hope this helps someone for a while now i have been trying to remove the internal boot trim and today i have found out how to undo the last to clips that are located in the two door handles, you need to put a flat screw driver in the slot and move it up like in the video i have done a little video to show how to unlock the clips. http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss107/parkside2002/th_video-2015-03-22-11-41-56_zps58ndwi4o.mp4
  24. yesterday i retro fitted an auto dimming mirror to my ct its absolutely fab all cars should have them fitted as standard. i really need to say a BIG BIG thank-you to pidu who originally posted the info as he was spot on . the mirror is off a honda accord 2008-2014 model and fits straight onto the glass mount and is secured with a small screw, then just 2 connections an ignition live and an earth jobs done. once again thank-you pidu
  25. technically you can take it anywhere vat registered to have the service completed but if an issue arises any car delership will always use it to get out of paying, they will riggle and riggle until they are free ,if you use lexus then there is no arguing end of. lets face it if you need to claim you dont need the hassle of then fighting your corner to prove any work carried out meets or exceeds lexus's standards.
