  1. 700 miles, based on the full 66ltr tank is 48mpg. A slightly more realistic 60ltr fill, would be 53mpg. Very achievable, if a bit boring to get to!
  2. Probably the styling has a part to play. Most company car buyers prefer boring looking cars As a company car buyer, styling is usually a consequence of tax bracket, which is what most company car people are all about, as cheaper CO2 means cheaper tax, means lower cost. Personally, the styling sold me, both inside and out - way more interesting than a BMW 3 series or a Audi A4/5/6. And the fact that the US300h is low CO2. Reading the Car Mag July 14 group test comparing the IS to the BMW/Merc C/Audi A5/Infiniti Q50 - the Lexus wins hands down as the best styled interior and exterior, with only the grille coming in for some questioning. But anyway, the Lexus offer this weekend isn't targeted at company buyers.
  3. IS300h comes third! Merc 2nd and BMW 1st. Audi A5 4th and Infiniti Q50 5th. Lexus is penalised for the Car Mag's own long term test F Sport model only doing 38mpg, compared to the rest doing 45+ and apparently the handling not living up to the styling - whatever that means. Basically, very respectable as it was never going to beat the two manufacturers who contribute such high advertising margins. ;)
  4. This means they have more F-Sports in stock than others, so what is wrong with Lexus business model? Pricing too high/too low? Ride as mentioned above? - though personally I didn't notice too much of a difference. Styling too extreme for some?
  5. google hypermiling techniques - generally they say to focus on maintaining constant load on a car, not constant speed, so (safely of course ;) ) try to keep the eco/power meter in the eco bit up hilll, and resist the temptation to squeeze the loud pedal to keep the speed the same. On the way down, keep off the accelerator and the brakes as much as possible and carry the momentum down one hill and up the next. Its easier said than done, especially if the road is twisty and you have other vehicles around. The WhatCar mag did some driver training to increase the mpg in their F-Sport model and it mentioned knocking back on the accelerator just before you crest a rise and letting the momentum and elec motor carry you over the crest and down the hill.
  6. That's good. Is it on motorway or around town........normal or focus on economy?
  7. Mine is coming through Lex Autolease too, and the supplying dealer is RRG Manchester http://www.rrg-group.com/centre/lexus-manchester I know the RRG Stockport branch. No guarantee mine is from same dealer though. Surprised you know who is supplying, as Lex have historically been very coy about telling me anything on this or my previous cars. Last 2 Vauxhalls came from Perry's of Rotherham and another dealer in Northampton, both i only found out about when they turned up.
  8. Damn! Popped in for a chat with my local dealer today to see if they could shed light on why its taking so long for delivery. They couldn't as they're not sure they are sourcing it for Lex. However, couple of bits of info, not sure if all true or normal salesman's BS but....... 1. They now have more customers than cars available apparently, so getting harder to match them up, thus lead times are getting longer. The downside of advertising and generally favourable reviews all round. 2. DarkRose and AVS are unpopular options so it is far more likely to be a full factory order and thus take longer than std. Doh! 3. Lexus apparently guarantee 3 months max for delivery if they can't source stock in UK. Dealerships get first dibs on existing stock, fleets take a back seat due to higher discounts and Lexus trying to maintain residuals. Not sure if 3mths is upheld for fleets either.
  9. Great news Blisteringblue. I'm still waiting and hoping mine might get revised forward a bit. However with the European travelling I'm doing currently by plane/train/taxi I'd only be frustrated as I'm not here to drive it! Is it black black or sparkly black?
  10. Is the BlackBerry a supported phone in the Lexus Bluetooth compatibility list? Is there a system update for the BlackBerry? How many contacts do you have?
  11. to rule out the phone as the problem, can you try a different phone in the lexus and see if it is any better/worse/same?
  12. Is the audio quality bad at your end or the other end or both? What sort of issues are you getting?
  13. Lee - found this, from the Lexus tech website - instructions on how to fit the OEM Lexus rear seat entertainment package. Follows same/similar process to remove console, but also shows how to get the gear knob off and to completely remove the entire central housing. http://www.lexus-tech.eu/aimuploads/d4774a08-8755-4a36-9246-115b55829289/IS_LHD_RES_PZ462_C1201_00_AIM_003_131_0.pdf There are others here - http://www.lexus-tech.eu/Aim/Aim.aspx
  14. Lease company confirmed yesterday my delivery date has gone back from w/c 14th July, to estimated 29th July at the dealers. that means almost 20wks/5mths from order, not happy :megaangry: .
  15. Ah, OK. So if the hybrid battery is permanently depleted (by driving in EV mode all the time say on short journeys), how does it charge the car battery? Does it just run the engine to drive the generator? Does the car not have an alternator at all then just the hybrid generator?
  16. +1 Also lots of stop/start and short journeys are murder on a normal engine and car battery charging circuit, especially if it is new, as it never gets the chance to properly recharge. Maybe the best bet would be to try an extended run up the motorway. Something more than 20miles?
  17. If the car exhausts the battery in EV mode, it will disengage it and start the engine automatically. Car brain won't let it drop to less than 20%. Car is like any normal, non hybrid car though, without a functioning 12v battery it won't work. Personally I think it is the normal 12v car battery which is flat, possibly faulty. Fergie should take it back to the dealer and ask them to check the battery condition, as it is entirely possible it is faulty from new.
  18. Which one? 12v normal car battery, or the hybrid traction battery? I suspect the former.
  19. Great news. Where are the pics??????? ;-)
  20. interesting - I was shot down in flames at the dealer when I said I didn't like it! They looked at me as if I had cotton wool in my ears. The std audio, gives up a bit of clarity at high volume, for more middle and bass. Functionality wise it is identical. You still get the surround dsp, DVD functions, same options on bass/middle/treble etc. The ML bit is the speakers and amp. I preferred the sound from the standard system and when I saw you lost no functionality that was decision made. I believe the std audio setup is built by Pioneer.
  21. How do find the ML audio? I demo'd a GS300h with ML and I didn't like it. It all seemed too bright, too much top end, not enough richness and bass. Good for Classical/Jazz I guess, but not so nice with rock/pop. Personally I didn't think it worth the extra, especially after I tested a car with std audio.
  22. Haf, on the Galaxy S3, if you connect it to the car with Bluetooth you need it to transmit data over bluetooth too, you need to enable that setting on the phone. Its called Bluetooth tethering and is in Settings/Connections/More Networks/Tethering and Portable hotspots on mine - I'm on the latest Android 4.3 official firmware for the phone and I had it working on the demo F-Sport I had. My brother joked about the analogue clock in the Lexus when I had my demo one. He said that after all the high tech stuff in it, its as if the janitor came into the design lab, tried to find the time, couldn't, then the designers realised they had missed out a clock and added a cheap one onto the dash. :D I couldn't find a digital time display anywhere in the car. And the analogue clock doesn't auto correct. After everything else the car can do, you'd think they could have made that work eh?
  23. Ian, I'm sure all will be fine and it will turn up Tues when everyone is back to work. Frustrating waiting though. Lee, all sounds positive on the mpg with the FSport. I'm hoping for mid to late 40's in normal driving which matches my current diesel. Not sure if you know but the full PDF manuals for the car and audio system can be found on the mylexus portal once you've registered. They show how to configure a USB stick with media etc. There are also some technical guides for repairing / removing some bits if the car, not sure of interior is one of them.
  24. I don't think you do. If you request and download the Lexus pricelist from the website, it shows the ML audio as a further £1k option. ML audio is std on the Premier model only.
