  1. Pics please to help me with the wait for mine! And thoughts on the extras especially AVS. Also how long did you wait from order to delivery?
  2. Simon is the fuel consumption figures you've quoted, tank to tank calc figures, or trip computer reported? How accurate is the trip comp? To get those figures have you changed your driving style any compared to your previous Audi? Just curious. Thanks
  3. Tested without adaptive and found the f sport std suspension a lot firmer, but still very well damped than a Luxury model. Asked on here about adaptive, considered it and thought nothing to lose, so went with it. My understanding is it softens off normal to the same as Luxury, but stiffens Sport and adds Sport+ mode for when needed, so best of both worlds, hopefully. I'll find out in July!
  4. Thanks, I signed up a while ago when I had my F Sport demo to see how it worked. But without my new cars Nav code etc I can't do much. Back to reading the manual and brochure!
  5. No run flats on UK models. Harsher ride on F sport is down to sports suspension and sportier larger wheels and tyres. Luxury IS is softer. Never driven previous models so my comparison is to current competitors, Audi, BMW etc and I preferred Lexus. By the sounds of it I'm not sure I would like the previous version ride, too comfortable, not tight enough. I agree GS is even more luxurious and cosseting, I tried a luxury GS300h, but I personally didn't get on with the "big car" feel and preferred the IS model dynamics.
  6. My order confirmed today. 14th July estimated delivery. :-( Factory build FSport, with Nav, leather and Adaptive Suspension. Going to be a long wait.
  7. Oh so jealous. Had my delivery date estimated today............ Week commencing 14th July. :-( Ultra Blue looks good.
  8. Which model IS300h did you try? Compared to a BMW, I thought the seats in the Lexus were superb, fitted me like a glove and found a very comfortable position, very much the Stressless sofa seats we have in our lounge. I agree the BMW seats are rock hard in comparison.
  9. Moving from a late 2010 diesel Vauxhall Astra (blinged up Elite model). Considered and discounted Audi A3/A4/A5/A6 TDI (too expensive to get right spec and ride too hard), BMW 3 and 5series diesel ( too expensive and unrefined esp 320d, plus too dark inside) and Merc C and E class ( C class too old now, E class too big). The new C class is just too new and I didn't fancy ordering one blind, though it is a very nice looking car. Also looked at a Jag XF, (interior looking its age now), and Skoda Octavia, ( interior not special enough though loads of space). Have driven the wife nuts for the last 6mths looking. She's happier now though!
  10. Got my order placed with company lease agents today, just waiting on delivery date from them. Finally decided on IS300H F-Sport in Mercury Grey with Dark Rose Leather Lexus Premium Nav Adaptive Variable Suspension Was more than I was originally going to order (Lux with Nav and manual leather), but the numbers still worked for me and I fancied a treat! Thanks to all for help/advice so far - now looking at calendar and already considering the potential wait. Have consoled myself by looking at pics of used ones in my colour combo online
  11. Seemingly very common in the midlands then, though still not on the same level as a BMW/Audi/Merc. Last week I saw 2 x White F-Sports on the M1 near Loughborough, another Grey Lux on the A50 outside Toyota plant, plus an Atlantic Blue Premier on the A50 also. Saw 2 x Fsports on the M6 south of Manchester. Today in Leicester spotted a Grey SE (small wheels) in the city center. I've also seen quite a few on the M1 north of London. All have been either White, Black or shades of Grey. Only seen 2 x blue one's - the Premier on the A50 last week and another Premier one in a car park in Birmingham before Xmas, which had ivory interior - very nice.
  12. Did anyone else see the review on Fifth Gear of the IS300h on Discovery Channel, 8pm last night? I'm sure it will be repeated through this week. It was one of their weekly car tests, using the whole team at Millbrook. Overall pretty positive, they liked the styling and design, were impressed by the ride and handling and even thought the ASC did a good job of disguising the CVT. on the down side, they said they were reviewing a Premier model, though it was clearly the F-Sport version. And they compared it a BMW 3 series, but mixed and matched the stats to show that the BMW was better, even though they were comparing different stats from different models. Also, Car magazine are long term testing a white IS300h F-Sport for the next few months, first review was in this months mag. Again he appears to like it overall, but is already complaining about the whine and the fact he is only getting 35mpg on his motorway commute of 100miles into London. I guess he must drive like a maniac, as I was getting high 40's/50's in my demo!
  13. Toyota are one of the partners, I'd be surprised if it doesn't make its way to their premium brand, even if it is only an option.
  14. been looking on the Used area of Lexus.co.uk to see the different colour combinations. Most cars have black interiors, but there are a few red interiors, including Lexus Leeds who have a F-Sport in Ultra Blue with Dark Rose - looks interesting, but a bit too much, even for me. Anyway's, have got approval (sort of) from SWMBO, that the Dark Rose interior "isn't too bad" and with Mercury Grey, "It might work", which is as good as approval anyway! To be fair I was just going to order it anyway, regardless, so acceptance is a bonus!! Should get the final quotes and paperwork done this week and get a timeline for delivery. DJP - productivity has taken a knock the last few months sorting out the car, hasn't kept me awake, but I confess I did get up extra early on the day the F-Sport demo was delivered! :)
  15. Hi Si Whilst the AVS is constantly adapting to the road conditions, there are only two main options insofar at the suspension is concerned which is either 'Normal' or 'Sports S+' You have 'normal' suspension for Eco, Normal & Sports mode. The extra Sports S+ mode (which is only available in AVS equipped models) is the only one which changes the suspensions settings to sport suspension mode. So you can actually keep in it standard Sports mode and yet keep the 'normal' suspension settings for comfort. Having said that, Sport S+ mode is hardly what I call firm anyway! The only thing you can't have is Sports S+ suspension but with the standard/normal gearbox settings. This sounds a bit confusing but but let me know if you need any more information. Alex - now you've had your car a few months, how are you finding the AVS suspension? Is it worth the extra? I was one of those who has tested a F-Sport with std suspension and thought it was a bit firm, but not jarring, still very well damped. I had the tyre pressures brought down a bit which helped, but as I spend most of my time on motorway's, I'd appreciate a smoother ride overall, with the ability to "dial it up" if the mood takes me. The Lux model I tried was very good on the motorway, its bigger tyre sidewalls and non-sports suspension, soaking up any little imperfection. However, I do much prefer the style, and interior of the F-Sport. About to place an order and wondering if this could get me the best of both worlds.
  16. The Stormtrooper look, does look good, but within 100yds its filthy and the mileage I do it would be permanently dirty. Red on Red is a bit too red! Was thinking superman colours (fsport blue and rose) would be different, but a bit loud.
  17. Whilst I was driving my F-Sport demo last week, I did notice quite a few admiring, envious and interested glances. A lot were from drivers of Audi, BMW and Mercedes, lol!
  18. A little perspective is need though. BMW sold nearly 45k 3 series in the UK in 2013 alone, another 41k 1 series models. TOTAL Lexus UK sales touched just 9k units. Your chances of seeing a Lexus on the road is low, full stop. Neither does BMW, Audi or Mercedes. And £36k for the Luxury? Its more like £30k? IS300h Luxury is £30995, if you add Nav (£1995) and Leather (£1400) and Met Paint (£610), you're up to £35k. Elec seats comes with the more expensive leather option, includes ventilation and heated seats. Its standard on the F-Sport (without memory, optional) and Premier models (memory std).
  19. I think he means, delete the pairing in the iphone and the lexus and re-pair them again. This should re-establish the comms and pickup any new functionality. Downside is it will mean any presets/favourites saved against that device will be lost and have to be recreated.
  20. DJP - the std mirrors didn't dip on reverse, needs the fully auto mirrors for this. cheers for the tip on the send to car routes. The ASC I found works in normal mode, but only really when you are in the power bit of the eco/charge/power meter dial. So really you are thrashing the car at this point. Whereas, in Sport mode, it is on all the time, regardless of speed or rev's. I know what you mean about having a giggle! It was exceptionally easy to get to silly mph figures. I did have a play with the various dial options too, noticed that the F-Sport gets a few extras, such as a user selectable speed warning (flashes amber and red next to the mph value in the dial), and user selectable rev counter flashing (turns rev counter red at selected rpm)! Gimicks I know, but the child in me enjoyed them. I've seen a fair few IS300h models on the roads, quite a few white, couple grey, couple black, 1 red. All different models - SE, F-Sport, Lux My wife is not a fan of the dark Rose interior, she thinks it will be like a boudiour! Me I'm torn between Mesa Red with Black leather, or Mercury Grey with Dark Rose. I'm going towards Grey/Rose, but don't tell the wife! LOL
  21. The auto fold mirrors and dip on reverse, needs the elec memory seats, which is std on the Premier model and optional on the F-Sport. on the face of it, £2300 seems a lot for leather on the F-sport, but if you add, in that you get memory seats, vented as well as heated, the auto fold elec mirrors, its not so bad. To do the same spec on a BMW is more. And the lexus leather quality is far superior.
  22. I've just had test drive of a new (69miles on clock 63plate) F-sport with nav and std seats. It did not have auto folding mirrors, you had to push the button. I'd assume auto folding mirrors only come with the leather option, as it adds memory to the elec seats.
  23. Well, well, well - IS300H F-Sport in full Stormtrooper spec (White/black interior) test drive complete. 280 odd miles, about 43mpg. Not bad for a car with only 70 miles on the clock! Thoughts and observations - ride is much firmer than the Luxury model, but not tooth rattling or back breaking. I checked tyre pressures and reduced them from over 40psi (delivery spec?), back to the handbook std 36psi and it was much better, much less fidgety on the motorway, and pretty comfortable overall. There is more road noise than a Lux, but then the tyres etc are much wider and have smaller sidewalls, so not unexpected. Biggest difference i find, is that Sport mode in the F-Sport changes the character of the car completely! In sport mode, with the ASC turned right up and using the paddles, its a beast. Throttle response is sharper than the Lux, ASC is even louder and growlier IMO, and generally I think the pickup and the car's propensity to use more petrol engine, more aggressively and hold lower gears longer just transforms the car. The mode dial really does give best of both worlds in the F-Sport compared to the Lux model. Eco-mode, turn off ASC and its a docile and comfortable cruiser. Sport mode with ASC and I had a ball! Couple of other observations generally. 1) I assume you only get auto folding mirrors with elec memory seats? My car only had std seats and had manual elec folding mirrors. 2) I created a portal account, added the car to it, got my phone (Galaxy S3) to use bluetooth tethering, saw live traffic and 3d models of various buildings in Liverpool. I tried to send a route to the car from the portal account, but couldn't work out how you actually selected it in the car. 3) Voice control is pathetic and unintuitive. Also, if your playing music it appears to continue in the background, system doesn't pause it, unlike if a phone call comes in or a traffic announcement over the radio. 4) Sat Nav doesn't appear to have lane guidance on motorway junctions etc, unlike my Astra. Or I couldn't find how you enabled it. It also doesn't mute or turn down the music volume when the announcements happen. It even seems to continue announcements during phone calls, untill i worked out a way to disable it. 5) Sat Nav - I had toll road's option enabled, and it appears it preferred this so much, it tried to route me from Stoke to Liverpool, via Ellesmere, Wirral and through the Walasey tunnel, despite it being 1hr longer. I disabled toll roads and it picked up the motorway route immediately. Now, decisions, decisions - what colour and leather or no leather.
  24. Now proud test driver of a White F-Sport IS300h, with Nav and Std Black interior. Just 69 miles on the clock. Had it out for a quick blat round the area this afternoon, inital thoughts - suspension/ride is much firmer than a Luxury model, but not crashy or back breaking/teeth rattling, just much firmer. ASC seems much louder and growlier than the lux too. Reset trip and got 40mpg immediately, so looks like mpg isn't realy affected by bigger wheels etc. might check tyre pressures and see if they are a bit hard. Loving the dials, the seats, the steering wheel and the small cushioned pad on the console at the left knee! Why didn't they put this on all the cars? Just setup the Lexus Portal so will see if this works ok with my Galaxy S3 phone. have tried sending a trip to the car. I checked and it is on the B firmware for Nav, not the newest version, so hopefully not too many issues, it seems as slow witted and the same as the Lux model i had. Off to the North West tomorrow for a few days, so will do 2-300 miles in it and see what its like.
