  1. I have AVS on mine and the ride on that size of tyres in eco or normal is pretty remarkable IMHO. In Sport+ it stiffens up noticeably. It seems to keep it very flat on cornering as well. Each to their own. You need to try it. I had a Std fsport without AVS on demo, and the ride quality still isn't bad at all. I couldn't get one with, but thought it couldn't be any worse.
  2. That same button, the mode button on the left side of the steering wheel, if you press it when a traffic report comes on it will cancel it and return to whatever you were playing before. As DJP says if you long press this button, more than 3secs I think, it will mute the radio, or pause the iPod etc. If you short press it changes the mode of the stereo, cycling through the various audio modes.
  3. Yes, but the location of the touch pad, the Mode dial and the cupholders are in a different position. The mode dial is where the touch pad/remote touch is on the IS, the touch pad is closer to the driver and the cup holders are further forward, making them easier to get to for the driver and the passenger and giving the passenger an elbow rest on the reshaped cushion.
  4. The RC and RC F models have been launched in the states and I've been reading the various articles on it. The interior is taken from the IS (the rest of the car is a real Frankenstein, but ho hum....) but is subtley different in its presentation and it struck me that this maybe highlights what the facelift IS might get in a year or two's time, as it addresses some of the major issues with packaging and layout. Take a look at the pic below and see how they have moved the items about on the centre console to help the placement of the cup holders.
  5. DAB - in the DAB source, you have a choice of stations/presets/manual. Go to manual, then select the ensemble or service button and scroll through the list. If you are in an area of good DAB reception, it should show all the stations and ensembles available. Stations show all the stations it can see and presets are self explanatory. The aerial is in the back window along with FM aerial and heated element. If you can't get any signal, then it suggests a problem with either the unit, the cabling or the aerial. Guess it is back to the dealer. I think generally reception is pretty good compared to other cars. For software updates, first check which version you already have, it is in Setup/General I think, scroll to the bottom of the list. Current release is VC03102E I believe, though F might have just been released I think as someone on here mentioned it. It is a dealer update, should be FoC and takes literally 15 mins to do via the USB port in the console. Version D is available as a download from the customer portal if you want to try it yourself and you have a previous version. Its the one listed as for giving traffic updates. Its the only one available as a customer download.
  6. IS driving experience will be different league to CT. Are the 2 models similar in spec? I'd think the IS Exec model has quite a bit more kit than a CT S model. Would explain most of the price difference. Depends what you are after really.
  7. I've turned off the seat moving too, the wheel moving out of the way is enough for me too. I'm still fiddling with the seat position 4wks into ownership, just can't seem to get a comfy position for the long haul.
  8. Easy access/entry comes on the IS if it has elec memory seats. So std on the Premier and optional with the leather seats on an fsport.
  9. There is a half way setting for the seat in the menu. How far it goes back depends on where you have it set to begin with. The full setting puts it all the way back.
  10. Premier spec is highest spec'd and probably closest to the SE-L model. Though a luxury model with a few options maybe close and is cheaper. Adaptive headlights isn't an option on any model but they are all HID Xenon's. Only the lower models with 16" wheels are zero tax, Max for the 18" wheel models is £20/ year. CT and IS driving experience is just not a comparison, the IS beats it hands down.
  11. Lol - yes was one of the first things I did too, was check the various software versions! I guess the cost is down to the licencing cost of the Nav data and software, but my point to the dealer was having paid £2k for the nav system, I want the latest update to come with it, I could have accepted v53241, but not v53240. I did check the contents of the card and you could easily read it in a pc, but I didn't have another card to try that on - for backup purposes obviously. The traffic updating I think is partly due to the phone i have - the Galaxy S3 seem pretty temperamental on the Bluetooth tethering. The car is temperamental on using WiFi and the phone as a hotspot. I'm due a 4G EE phone shortly (suspect it will be a MotoG 4G) and will see if that is better. There is no indication I can find about where it gets the data you see from - FM-RDS, DAB or Online. Also, has anyone else noticed, if I'm listening to DAB, I don't get FM RDS traffic messages and interrupts, but I do if you listen to FM, or IPOD, or USB etc. Can't see if this is by design, or if it is another "feature".
  12. I reckon I'll get about 40mpg this tank if I'm lucky! Too much Sport+ mode this tank. One thing I can't ever tire of is the "Traffic light grand prix" starts, in any mode it is just blistering. in Liverpool on Weds, drag start from the traffic lights against a new BMW X5 4.0 and a new Audi A6 2.0 TDI - I was in the middle lane and in ECO Mode, the BMW only just got infront but was trying very hard and the A6 was left for dead!!!
  13. I wasn't lucky with the SatNav microsd version, as my car arrived with the 1st version of the card (53240), not even the last version! I kicked off at the supplying dealer and after much huffing/puffing/stammering and excuses including them claiming there had never been an update, they opened a case with Lexus Customer care, who investigated, said that my car had the correct version when it left Japan and that there had been an update in transit. It was a May'14 build, so I took that to mean it had the 53241 when it left and 53242 was released in transit. Anyway, I never got an adequate explanation of what happened, though my suspicions are that my card was swapped, hoping I'd never notice. However, good outcome, as Lexus Customer care came back and said they'd pay for the latest version, and I picked it up last week. Can't say I notice much different though, as some of the error's etc are still there, though the graphics look slightly different I think and it seems faster, though that might be a placebo effect. i agree that the traffic system is good, if only the reliability of the updating of the data was better, I drove back from Liverpool to Leicester yesterday and I had no traffic data for the full trip.
  14. Version E is dealer only. They should be able to do it for you. Mine did while I waited, took 15mins start to finish, most of the time watching the screen doing the update. Not sure its worth it though, some things are slightly better, others appear same or worse.
  15. Its not all good news DJP. I'm on version E of the software and for me the Bluetooth connection is unstable with the phone frequently ending and resuming connection, the tethering via either WiFi or Bluetooth is also unstable and unreliable, sometimes it works and traffic updates work fine, other times I can get anything other than a Download failed message. Also randomly, the call contacts and history won't transfer. Some of these issues I think at the phone and I need to try another to confirm.
  16. I use a Samsung Galaxy S3 with android 4.3 and the text msg system works most of the time. It doesn't update the phone if you read it in the car though. I've sent a text from the car too, works well.
  17. The very latest brochure (dated August 2014) for the IS is available here http://www.digi-flips.com/digiflips/lx/l/a8484884/digi-flipbook.html It would appear to have the 2015 model year specifications, it has the Executive model listed and explanations for all the options and option packs. Sunroof availability is now listed as only available on the F-Sport model. LED front foglamps are now standard across the range. The August '14 pricelist for the Lexus range is here - http://www.digi-flips.com/digiflips/lx/l/a7588389/digi-flipbook.html
  18. Finally starting to loosen up possibly? But today's run down the M1 and back from Leicester to London and seeing 52.4mpg on the computer. Happy Days!
  19. Haha, yes, I know what you mean! I've just watched the National Geographic Mega factories episode about the LFA on Youtube and "Nipponic engineers" doesn't appear to be too far from the truth. Makes you wonder why things like the boot hinges made it to production.
  20. I'm happy with sticking to 3 flashes. Bit I don't understand is why give this and other changes such a complex change procedure? Its not as if they couldn't add an extra option in one of the miriad of menus and options.
  21. Yes, errr, well maybe need to start another thread, called "Need to try harder", or " upgrades for the facelift ".
  22. Yep, saw them the other day, simple but effective! Also, the bonnet has rubber seals all the way round, I assume to cut noise and increase aerodynamic efficiency.
  23. Well nearly 3wks and 2.5k miles into my first Lexus ownership by way of IS300h and the thing I'm most impressed with is the little engineering details of the car I've discovered. Things that Lexus probably didnt need to do, but they did anyway. Anyone else noticed anything on their cars? Mine are, fuel filler flap is metal not plastic, the little rubber knibs on the outer window seals which make water stream from the windscreen up and over the roof, the window motors are 2 speed and slow down at the bottom and top of the travel on all doors. Little things..........
  24. Hello, welcome. Try looking at the official used Lexus cars website, as most dealers have numerous pictures of the various IS300h models they have for sale. Nationwide there are more than 100 cars. You can narrow down by exterior or interior colour. The exec edition is same as a Luxury version with leather.
  25. Red Interior pics - see here - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/92268-finally-mercury-greydark-rose-is300h-f-sport-arrived/ F-Sport ride bad? I wouldn't say so, but bad compared to what? Is it firmer than the Lux or SE version, absolutely. Is it as bad as an Audi A4 S-Line with sports suspension, or a BMW E90 M-Sport on Run flats - no way. It is pretty sensitive to tyre pressures in my opinion, I've dropped them down to 34psi to see if it makes a difference and it does. I'll probably up them again and see if I can live with it. A demo car I had (no AVS) had a bad ride when I drove it, vibrating down the motorway really bad vibrations in the cabin etc, it was brand new, 70miles on the clock. I checked the tyres just to see and they were at 40-42psi. Backed them off to 36 and it was much better. I have AVS and it does make a difference - subtle - but a difference is there. On the motorway in Eco or normal the ride is firm but well damped, cats-eyes etc are ok, no problems. In Sport and especially in Sport+ mode, you do feel every rut, ridge and depression in the road, it does stiffen up the damping somewhat. On smooth quiet tarmac though, it is the best car I've driven, very relaxing.
