  1. Cheaper one loses the reversing camera, all the connected services (Google street view, traffic, parking, send to car etc) and I think the remote mouse interface for a twiddly knob, which may or may not be an improvement depending on your preference. ;-) The cheap one is that same as that on the CT200h 2014 model I think.
  2. Ehh? In the depths of winter, within 5miles, the white IS I had was 2 tone....... white and grey. White easiest to keep clean, I don't think so.
  3. Pics look great. White suits the car, the demo I had was white, but I couldn't bring myself to order one in white because I knew how often I would have to wash and clean it! Nissan Gtr experience sounds good too. Pics/report pls?
  4. Haha, great pics. Not jealous.......... much! Only another 56 odd sleeps to go :-(
  5. I had to stop and re-read your original post and realised you are using a 64gb usb disk - windows is now too clever and only gives you an option of exFAT or NTFS with this size of USB disk in Disk Manager. :megaangry: You will need to resort to DOS commands, or a 3rd party application to format it as FAT32, or get a 32gb or smaller thumb drive. FAT32 is the only format that the Lexus will recognize. Google - 64gb USB FAT32 format - there are many options open to you.
  6. you also have to factor in adjusting your driving style to maximise the hybrid element compared to a normal diesel car - lift and coast, anticipation of road and conditions ahead to reduce use of brakes etc. F-sport will get marginally poorer mpg than a Lux, due to wider, bigger tyres and slightly different gearing.
  7. Great pics - keeping me going, wishing the days would go faster till I get mine!
  8. On the Lexus EU Portal YouTube account, one of the videos about the live traffic service says on the auto high frequency setting it updates every 3 minutes. The low frequency update is every 6mins. I'd imagine the amount of data will be tiny, a few hundred bytes or so, basically a string of numbers which has latitude and longitude locations and a code which the car will convert to the issue. You can set the Nav to do auto reroutes or manual or nothing.
  9. Oohhhhh. Here's hoping mine is on the same boat as yours badnwelsh!
  10. That bodes well LexusSI. 255 width tyres do seem excessive given the power output is identical on all IS hybrid models.
  11. just had a compare on mytyres.co.uk. Bridgestone ER33 255/35/18 is rated F for economy and C for Wet Grip. Also middle of the range 71dB for noise. http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=84790383.110.8461&Breite=255&Quer=35&Felge=18&Speed=Y&Load=90&kategorie=6&Marke=Bridgestone&ranzahl=&tyre_for=&Herst=Bridgestone&sort_by=Lable_1roll&rsmFahrzeugart=PKW&homologation=&Label=F-C-71-2&details=Ordern&typ=R-248376 As a comparison, the Dunlop SportMaxx RT is rated C for economy, A for wet grip and noise is rated at 68dB, and it's cheaper! http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=84790383.110.8461&Breite=255&Quer=35&Felge=18&Speed=Y&Load=&kategorie=6&Marke=&ranzahl=&tyre_for=&sort_by=Lable_1roll&rsmFahrzeugart=PKW&homologation=&Label=C-A-68-1&details=Ordern&typ=D-119960 Apparently the difference between a band A rated tyre and a Band G for fuel economy is 7.5%. And 3dB less noise is half the noise level on the logarithmic scale. Food for thought
  12. On the motorway in the demo IS I had, the energy display appeared to show the engine as off when lifting off ( what I would call the overrun, old school) at 70mph. Under very light throttle application it appeared to show the electric motor doing the accel even at motorway speeds.
  13. Just been looking at tyres and noticed there is a big difference between brands for the displayed regulation economy mark. Some such as Yokohama and Bridgestone are band F and G, whereas Pirrelli and Michelin have some in band B and C. What brands of tyre do Lexus fit as OEM?
  14. There is a thread or two on here about an app called Mirror link, but I think it is for android phones and the functionality is limited. Try this. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/84282-mirrror-link-smart-phone-screen-visible-on-lexus-display-help/?fromsearch=1
  15. Link for current UK Lexus range pricelist as a pdf. The link appears to stay the same, but when new lists are released it downloads the updated list. Current list is 1/4/14. http://www.digi-flips.com/digiflips/lx/l/a7588389/digi-pdf1.pdf The web configurator is poor. Manual leather isn't an option on an F-Sport according to the pricelist, as it comes with elec seats with cloth/tahara as standard.
  16. OK thanks. +1 on the spec BIK and plushness. Impatiently counting down the days to my delivery.
  17. Haha. Don't say it too loud, you might have a special one! Beats a rattling diesel any day.
  18. Hello, see you've gone for superman colours! I was tempted myself. I'm waiting on my grey F Sport, otherwise same spec as yours. Mine is due mid July also! I'm hoping for mid to late 40's mpg which based on my demo car was very achievable.
  19. Just downloaded the current Lexus UK pricelist dated 1st April, to see if the free nav offer was continuing on the IS. Its not, but noticed there is a new option of a Lexus Nav @ £995 alongside the Premium Nav option @ £1995. I'm guessing this is the same as that offered in the CT model, and does without the reversing camera and connected services. These is also a Protection Pack offered at £300 but no details what it is. The brochure link I have still downloads a June 2013 brochure. No mention of the new remote touch pad as shown in the new RC model though. Is there a yearly date or period when the new model year is released/built/expected?
  20. My current Vauxhall is 20k or 12mths, but has variable intervals based on oil life which is calculated automatically according to driving profile. Lots of short trips around town can be just as bad as repeated long trips up motorways.
  21. Wonder if the fleet customer service interval is any longer again? Otherwise it's going to be nearly 3 services a year for mine!
  22. Auto fold mirrors are only standard on Premier model, or as part of the Leather seat pack on F-Sports, otherwise it is a manual button switch inside. It appears the autofold mirrors need some components of the memory seat package, so a retro fit maybe expensive. I was also disappointed that Lexus didn't offer any kind of adaptive headlamps as option or standard on the IS, as my current Vauxhall has this and they are brilliant, quite literally! However, the std Xenons and LED's are very good in the dark I thought, so not so bothered. The demo cars I had, the Sat Nav voice is on over the top of the music or phone. There is an option in the settings to not have it on over everything, so if you are on a phone call, it is silent. It doesn't turn down the music/radio though so you can hear the satnav better as my Vaux does now which is disappointing, but maybe this will come in an update - the SatNav/Radio system is on release D currently, there are other threads on here about upgrading it if your dealer can't. Screenwash dilution is to whatever the product says, if the bottle doesn't have a dilution ratio, it probably means it should be used neat.
  23. Given the amount of other hi-tech kit in the car, you'd think they could have at least added in auto-adjust functionality. Its almost as if they had forgotten a clock in the original design and added it as an after thought!
  24. Thanks for the update AlGriff. Which model of IS do you have, and is the mpg calculated by you or the trip computer reading? How accurate is the trip computer?
