Driving Using Manual ....
SiM22 replied to Stuno1's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
What you say about the power at tap is true, it actually makes the car feel like it wants to go round a corner like a lion...growling and making tons of noise. And you get people looking when the second intake opens up :-) -
Driving Using Manual ....
SiM22 replied to Stuno1's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I agree with you, i am now more than ever putting it into manual, i keep messing around in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. The noise is addictive -
Just hardwired the snooper into the car. Can only see a tiny but of wire around the a pillar. Must say it does look better with cables not lying around :) if you ask me how I did it I can't remember now ha!

So I had my friend go to the US and pick up the LEDs i got sent to his mums house (original lol) Tonight i decided to install them before the match, i ordered all except the reverse light. Interior ones and lower door were simple enough. The mirror lights were a bit tougher and took a bit longer as was patient to keep the glass mirror intact, i did notice my mirrors had a drop of silicone glue behind the mirror and when i removed the glass the silicone glue does not stick again. My aim is to remove the glass on Sunday and put another drop of silicone glue to make sure it stays put (just incase it feels like dropping off at high speed ha!) The only light which was incorrect was the boot LED, it wont fit at all. Picture below shows the diameter of the metal ends is slightly thicker than OEM bulb and it just will not fit. Also checked there youtube video to confirm and it is not even the same style LED bulb. Email sent to them with picture and will await there response. Will take some pictures after the match when it is dark to see what it looks like and upload them here

Rear Brake Pads
SiM22 replied to count duckula's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I wanted to try ceramic pads at some point, went to lexus the other day to get a health check on the car and nothing needs changing for 12 months. When it does come round to changing them I will probably be in time for when hawk release the rear pads -
There is a good 3M spray that I have seen a lot of people use. Tried finding a link to purchase it but couldnt. I guess google will help. Here is a link to the product on Amazon but not being sold currently. http://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-Paint-Defender-Spray-Film/dp/B00BSKYM82

Carbon Fibre Mirror Caps

I can confirm my car does not have in built indicator on the mirror. Maybe this was a 2010 model released before the redesign -
Carbon Fibre Mirror Caps
SiM22 replied to SiM22's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I found this picture on Google showing the 2010 mirror. Looks like the CF one. http://images.thecarconnection.com/lrg/2010-lexus-is-f-4-door-sedan-mirror_100239582_l.jpg It is one of those things that because it is imported, i want to make sure it will fit as when it is over here i am busted/screwed if something is incorrect. -
Hi, Has anyone every purchased or had any experience with Carbon Fibre mirror caps? I have hunted these down on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-ISF-08-12-RHD-Spec-Only-Dry-Carbon-Fiber-Side-Mirror-Covers-Pair-/390823096346?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5afedf301a I sent the seller an email asking if they would fit an IS-F. He replied that they would but only RHD models. Does anyone know the difference between RHD and LHD IS-F Mirrors?

Not The Way I Wanted To End My Day! :-(
SiM22 replied to Peter P18's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
yeah I am like you in that sense, you go anywhere and you are always worried someone will do something to the car. Other day I was in the front garden having a smoke sitting down on the steps (the car is parked right infront of my house) one guy walked past and then stop and went back. Then started looking through the window while putting his hand on it to see better. I just went "Looking at it will make you go blind" guy just walked off. But you have to be so careful, people are very jealous of others belongings. You spend more time trying to look after the car than driving it -

I guess the worse part is the hassle of getting it fixed but like everyone said it was very honest of them to own up. About 2 years ago, a white van drove into me as he failed to break. I pulled over to not block traffic and the guy just drove off. Did not give me time to take down the number plate and because of the traffic i couldnt get after him. Sometimes crappy things happen and the best bit is they didnt hide or runaway. -
Very nice tone of colour. And very clean Good job

The new dash would be good if the Speedometer was bigger, but it is just too small.
