  1. Where do you live Nick? I'm just down the road from the airport aswell! What do you drive?
  2. Cor, thats cheap! Could be a bargain for someone. I paid £400 for mine + about £200 to ship from the states. And I though THAT was cheap!
  3. Let me guess, they all had beemers? :P I'm 21 now, got my first Soarer when I was 20.
  4. This was about 2 years ago! I'll take £120 for it if you are interested, and if I can find it! I'm not desperate to sell it or anything, it just seems that its your cheapest option and would be better than a cheapy PDA+satnav combi! And seeing as you have the IPAQ already...
  5. Got a price on them? Let me guess, either bloody expensive, just silly money, or plain extortionate?
  6. Tenner? ;) Hmmm It was about £250 when I bought it (still paying it and the PDA off actually!).
  7. There's no option for 'start at page 3, finish at page 3' Thing is, 'sport' encompasses a lot. Papers only do football, cricket, rugby, horse racing, and not much else. No interest in those, but enjoy 'proper' sports:)
  8. Hmm, I have a Navman jacket that I used for my 3850, but it seems that it works for 36xx up. I have got satnav in the car now, so I don't really need it! If it still works, you could make me an offer for it;)
  9. Have you heard the plans he has for it? He going for it in a major way! He's got a sponsor to get discounted parts and everything! I can't remember exactly what he is doing, but I think he is going for around 500bhp!
  10. SC400 had a factory option for Nakamichi HIFI inc. sub. :)
  11. £10k-11k at least. It must be a beauty! There doesn't seem to be a massive market for late Soarers for some reason, but a bit of persistence and you should get decent money for it. I'd have it if I hadn't just bought my new one!
  12. Yup, thats definately what it would be! Which walkthrough did you use? http://www.planetsoarer.com/dashrepair/dashrepair.htm Thats the one you need to go by. Note that it says: "There is also about four 47uF 10 volt rated SMD caps in the dash that I would also replace as a matter of course while I have the thing open!" Thats may be where you went wrong!!
  13. Andy Did you do ALL the caps/trans? There are a few 'optional' ones to do on top of the recommended ones. Lots of people find its them that solves thier problem! Check again to make sure the components are all connected properly, and also that any haven't been damaged in the process (I killed one of the components on mine while putting the casing back on! I've never heard of the fix not working!
  14. Jeff Harper!! Or a long trip!
  15. The wheel centres have been discussed somewhere here. You can usually get them from ebay USA, about £200 for the set of 4 covers. I am tempted to get some, but can't quite justify £200 on them at the moment!
  16. Yup! It had me confused for ages! Headers, Extractors, Manifolds. All the same thing!
  17. You may be best off with a 3Ltr one. They were available '94 onwards, and standard ones may have been looked after better and not thrashed like a lot of the 2.5TT's. They have much better economy, and more standard engine parts (same as N/A Supra mk4). The other option is the later turbo. Available late '96 onwards, they come with a single turbo and VVTI. More powerful and better economy than the earlier Twin Turbo's. There are not many of either of those models around for sale in the UK though, so you may have to think about importing if you want a really pukka one! A well looked after Soarer will go on for ages though, try and find one with service history, and you shouldn't have many problems. Don't expect them to be 'cheap' to run though! What would be better would be to buy a good low milage Soarer, and use the IS for travel:p An early Twin Turbo can go for around £3,000, but its worth spending a bit more for a good one. Up to around £5,000 for <'94. '94 was a facelift year, so late '94/'95/'96 go for a bit more. Then '97 onwards pay around £7,000 ish at least for the single turbo. 3Ltr can go for a little more purely because there are not so many around. £6,000ish for a good pre'96, then again, £7,000+ for '97 onwards when there was another facelift for all Soarer's. TTs and 3Ltrs didn't come with the touchscreen that came on the V8s. But '97 onwards there was an option for a built in screen which tilts to reveal the CD player. There are ways to add UK satnav to these. Expect to pay around a grand. Or just buy one of the handheld ones that stick on the windscreen. Good luck!!
  18. Hi Alex. That sounds like an amazing car you've got there!! What colour is it? What options have you got? Have you got any pics of it?
  19. They are heavier, because they are generally a better specced model. Soarer's genarally come pesonalalised with factory options, so a GT-T may be have more options than a GT-TL, but rarely. The GT-TL comes with TEMS suspension. Ie. electronically adjusted damping. When the car is in sports setting, the suspension will harden for better handling. The GT-T just uses coils without the additional TEMS unit. The GT-TL usually comes with things like leather, electric seats ect. If you want speed, go for the slightly lighter GT-T, if you want a bit more toys and comfort, go for the GT-TL. The 'L' stands for 'Limited' by the way! Good luck with the purchase. Buy a good one, don't go cheap. Then you will be well chuffed with it. Fantastic cars:)
  20. Did your car go to Michiel J, is that him? I think you both got a result there then. Its just what he was after!
  21. I am trying to find a system to add on to mine to get satnav, but its not easy! I've just bought a UZZ32 aswell - my second Soarer, and I'm well chuffed:) Do you know about UZZ32s? As in how special they are? :)
  22. Hi Michiel. Good to see you are still looking! I've just bought a new one and that has wind deflectors. I have looked at the window ones and they are just stuck on, so will peel off. The offer is still there if you want me to look at some with you.
  23. FALSE?? Have a look at the start of the thread.........Thats false!!! I was merely a few days out on my dates ;)
  24. All V8s are auto. Nearly all TTs are auto! You can find manual TTs, but they are pretty rare. The Soarer autobox is really good though. I wasn't convinced before, but now I've got used to the auto and very happy with it. You should get insured for less than that. I'm 21 now and was paying that last year TPFT. This year i'm down to 1100! At our age, the difference between V8 and TT would be quite a lot. You'd be lucky to get insured on a TT I reckon, and it would be a lot if you could. The 'sports' setting on the autobox means that when you flick the switch, the box revs higher before changing up, up to redline if you are pushing it even slightly. You are best taking a Soarer owner with you to look at cars before you buy. There are a few things to look out for. I should take up Bills offer. (I'm a bit far away, or I would)
  25. Unfourtunately, it will a barge again now eh, now the beautiful Soarer's gone:( ;) Oh well, I've got something special now:D
