I have the Toyota tool. it takes 3/8 ratchet. The filter will just not open. Hammered the ratchet used my all force. Nothing. What's the trick to it?

we gave concluded we cannot retrofit USB. Why did jack want USB? A) transfer over aux cable is 2 channel. not 2.1 or 5.1 or 7.1 b) Why does one need 2.1 or 5.1? Well some people's ears and brain got more developed than the others so they notice it a lot. c) For me aux is fine why then bother? good for you. d)no really why need USB ? I just thought I can retrofit it easily and get an easy upgrade. Just wanted it for no reason. Try this... get a 5.1 or 7.1 movie dvd. play it. then play the same scene over YouTube via aux. :) Let me know if you don't notice anything.

depends who likes what. I don't think anyone would agree that I witnessed a car being sold 10k more in price as it had light interior vs the same spec in black. a Mercedes benz. The buyer said he doesn't like dark color as it gets depressing and he can't see things when he drops it. added all the excues like it's welcoming etc. true enough. With UK weather you don't want black as it gets too dark. but some find it executive looking. so can't say... I guess.

I often listen to "elevator" music. And heavens... when you hear that each instrument from a speaker at a time ... you feel like in front of the live music. listen to Adele and the girl next to you will cry. I recall in my teen days, a few of the girls I knew used to say 'oh your music system does something to our heart' wink wink. The pounding crisp bass and tunes (not played it loud, enough so you could talk) made them tickle.. lol So there you go.... Probably I am just a fanatic.

the crisp punchy bass and crisp tune.. a music lover can tell. Good music shows it. Has to be quality music and was recorded for 7.1 channel. I am reading here a lot people can't differentiate between 2 channel aux input and a 7.1. Just tells they are not bothered about it. It's exactly like buying a 10 quid headphones or a bose 200+ pounds head phones. But for a normal person it's just music. But then I am a person who spent 2k on music system on one car and installed it myself with a lot of math involved.

do you have a sat nav now? and is there an amp at the back in the boot ?

It's dated everyday. Doesn't know Edinburgh bridge was closed. that's a major disadvantage if you think about it. You reach endinburgh only to find out you had to go through Glasgow. Mines dated since 2009, I think.

to be fair up til 2012 all lexus is250 is220 and ISF look the same to anyone on the road. And for all.those years for is250 it's the same engine.

Well... it's just coming down to that now toffee. Yes I can get a 2 pound ciggrate lighter charger with flush fascia... Am thinking about it now. But there is an itch that says to upgrade the sat nav. But for that I want to confirm i have the right harnessing in the car. Also waiting for the seller to reply with my price. If he doesnt then i wont bother. But if he does then I need to be sure it's all worth the exercise. The other side of brain says to get the USB cable and fit it for OE look. Get a 1 pound charger and hack it for 12-5v power. But if aux connector won't mate then it's just not worth it.

thanks no there is no way to retrofit USB port since the sat nav needs the required firmware to support it. we have ruled this out. What I am trying to undertake is two things 1. on 2010 where does this USB cable connect to. 2. on 2009 can I use this cable to make it work with aux. the USB will be dummy. I am thinking of hacking in and using it only to power phone. that's all. not sure anyone can answer this.

Ahmed you did it right. it's simple as plugging in the cable and pressing aux. The sound quality will be poor in my opinion. Increase the volume to max on phone then increase on sat nav. the sound is "low". Like I said poor quality.

Are those tools metal head or plastic. normski I cannot recall if you said you have the HDD and which year and model car do you have ? See the attached picture please. So this cable goes to USB directly to HDD on the front ? Can the other white side connector be retrofitted to aux of a non USB sat nav ?

guys, if I do get to the route of upgrading the sat nav. How difficult or easy will it be to sell mine ? And will it matter if the one I buy is from se-I and mine is se-L. ta.

450 for the sat nav... pfftt... too expensive. Unless someone will buy my sat nav for nearing the same price.

I have been comparing tyre's. I was also told Dunlop comes from Goodyear company. Now the RT ha's fuel rating of C grip rating of A and noise 68db. That's the best I could find among all the big brands. The second best Is Dunlop TT fuel rating of E, grip B and noise 71. now what has stopped me so far from purchasing is that TT has max flange kerb protection. RT doesn't have this. But RT is graded much better. Price is also unbeatable. Kwikfig says 87ish fitted. The cheaper option is Perelli graded E for fuEl, B grip , 72 noise and priced 84.50 fitted. oh and I am going for RT for now.

didn't think of integration of sat nav to hdd. So can a face lift sat nav be fitted to 09 ? Too expensive but I might be able to get hands on one. but would like to know before hand what I am dealing with. What about this one, can the USB port alone fit in 09 where aux input is ? USB port for charging phone only and nothing else but make it look like stock fitting. toffee it started from trying to get a USB option in 09 in hopes there might be feature there but not enabled. Seems this is not possible. Repeatedly I have said it now, I have another brand of car that didn't support usb or aux in from factory. I studied schematics of the head unit and found both features were there. and I have them enabled now. Thought there might be a chance with lexus.

by face lift you mean 3rd gen 2010 onwards ? Does anyone have a picture of how the HDD looks like. I am.interested in the back connectors. Want to understand if I can swap out the dvd for HDD.

Read somewhere... so the sat nav we have on 2009 and earlier is DVD based and the 2010 onwards has HDD. So are both the sat nav completely different or can the HDD be retro fitted?

Hmm... trying to understand how that will work. Traditionally, the head unit has interface for USB. That because the head unit has the micro controller. And in case of the mazda, I found it out as I saw the differential lines on the schematics that mazda shared with me. So essentially I am looking for differential pair lines. So my next question is, which connectors emerge from this hard disk. How can I find it out and it's pin out. Thanks.
