    I would do this... get a multi meter and set it to Ampere. Put it across fuse slot prongs and measure the amp. What I am trying to say is to figure out if indeed the element is turning on and consuming power. Just a thought...

    toffee Trying to figure out if one can retrofit a USB interface to Gen 2. The exercise wa's to see if there is a possibility that gen 2 supports USB interface I. e. connections are there but not fitted. So the gen 3 have a hard disk in arm rest ? How is that interfaced to the sat nav ?

    From the schematics Shahpor shared, there is no provision of USB connection. Does anyone have a picture of the sat nav that supports USB ?

    I don't know where the cable goes. It just went towards the glove box. And we will need to know complete pin out of the sat nav. Then one can know there is a USB possibility. Just to give some hope: I have a mazda which doesn't have USB from factory but the head unit does have pin outs for it. So I am hoping lexus might have something similar.

    it's mark levin. the grey connector was already connected which I disconnected to show. I do not have a USB in arm rest. 09 L reverse light SEL side mirror lights. So my question is, will Toyota tell me the pin out info for this sat nav ?

    Hi guys has anyone tried making their sat nav support USB input to read flash disk? Saw a YouTube video where it shows back of a sat nav. and you can see a grey connector. I have marked it in red circle. and on ebay I can fine a cable that I think will fit in that grey connector.     Yes indicators on the mirror and L reverse lights. But no USB.

    What if it has the blind, is 09, log book says SE-L and still no USB ?

    Now how can one know if I have 09 SEL or SEI . Has ML and wood grain. But no USB.

    Did you get any check light in dash board for the auto leveling sensor ? If no auto leveling check light then yeah probably cleaning it up and see how it goes. Also determine where the problem is. Try starting from cleaning the contacts and re seating the plugs. I have witnessed a not properly seated plug causing auto leveling not to work and dash to show the warning light. There should be two sensors. The first one can be seen by removing the passage side tyre for UK spec. I cannot recall where the second sensor is located...

    I having been trying to haggle and even walked away. Told them my price. They didn't even move a little. Aa for HID. Recent kwilfit mot I went for for one of my old car with HID from factory, they made sure the washer jet works. I was observing all the time. So testers who know will know what to look for and retrofit ha's to be the full package. Also, personally I say the full option car are worth every penny. Else you Will regret it, at some point.

    How do you respond to when they say" the list price was revised from x to y and unfortunately we cannot go lower than this" Essentially what they listed for is the price ? No haggle ?

    Guy's, How does one do valuation of a car if it's 2014 or newer but used ? Parkers says the vehicle is too young. Then how can I know what price the car is at and I should make an offer ? Thanks.

    What's the brand and model of the battery ? Batteries are just batteries. They can die when they like. But some are better than the other and price reflect it.

    Called lock smith they said they can't do anything for the lexus and it has to be the dealer. I think the car isn't insured but taxed and mot. And it's parked on a disabled bay on street. Pensioners don't seem too chuffed.

    Called AA. it's not classed as a break down and they said to contact a lock smith. They advised AA will call a locks smith themselves and charge for break down and the lock smith. so a tip.

    Thanks Cougar. I will give them a call and ask for costs. Lexus said they would need to replace the control module and that would cost 2000 pounds. two keys would cost 380 pounds. Funny how car is cheaper than the parts.

    it's not my car. Story is like this. A neighbour died and their relatives cannot find the key. So the other neighbour's have seen me working on my car and thought I could help them. These other neighbour want the car out of the street so they can get a parking space for themselves. the next of kin don't seem interested and I do not think they can afford anything. Car has been sitting there for nearing a year now. So I am just trying to understand how much keys will cost to start the banger out of the way. done about 130k miles and has advisories.

    witnessed this today at -1C outside. started the car one side was frozen solid. Got released after a few minutes of rear / side mirror heaters. For some reason lexus likes to freeze solid noticeably the doors and wipers.
