It's waiting for ignorance. I saw a lexus and that's what made me join this forum. It's still on auto trader for grabs. Now this lexus, does not have any service record. I inquired and found this on phone. Their reasoning was lexus does not stamp anymore. Which you guys told me it isn't true. I still went there to see it and then it had stamps from some garage. Stamps were fresh and same pen and writing was used every year. I asked and the guy said yea it has service history! Well... I told he straight to his face he is lying and this is fresh stamp. Then I saw the car.... horrible. I even posted video here. And he is still selling it, a car dealer... -

Finally, Lexus Is 220D Ecu Reflash Stage2

caiu ce faci adi. Fortafermous. I would like to know if it adjust boot as chipping alone won't do much I think. -
Can't recall much now but I bought the kit from brake parts.Co .UK http://brakeparts.co.uk/#!/shop/LEXUS/IS250/05-12/IS250%20GSE20%202.5%20PETROL/Rear%20-%20Brake%20Calipers%20and%20Wheel%20cylinders/BCK4535 The rubber boot I wanted to replace, they sent a non identical part. I sent them a picture of the original and they sent me a wrong a second time. I gave up and used to original one that had seen wd40 for days. I wasn't too chuffed about the rest of the kit as well. the only thing I used was the caliper dust cover as I had damaged the original one.

Squeaking Noise When I Use The Accelerator
jackcramerr replied to andyboroboy's topic in Engine & Transmission
when it makes the sound pour some water on the belt and see if that reduces or fixes it. It's the belt then. -
Ishaq bai Those are refurbished calipers. you will get the same stuff you have on your car now. They will seize again. Like John said, getting them greased is the only way. I will check mine soon as I wish to see if ceratec grease I used from ECP made anything better and because I need to change the pads. Been maybe 5 months when I rebuilt the caliper. But the design is pish poor. The rubber boot is just sitting there without any lip anywhere to hold it in place and help seal. That's just basics and I bet a plumber can come up with a better design.
-
Ishaq jan My view is the design is just wrong. the water can seep through the rubber covers. Unless it's after market with a new design or OE original but with updates, the one I saw on 2009 and spent hours Un sizing, I know it will happen again. I think ECP doesn't have non OE calipers. Or do they?

The other thing that is bugging me is OE vs Bermbo vs PAIGD (German) vs Eicher( Euro car part and made in Scotland? ) vs Textar. Now OE is 47ish and all the other are near half the price or cheaper at least. I don't want to feel getting ripped off so question is, Is Lexus OE 0446622190 better than any of the others? I tend to use original service parts and fit with my hands when I can as I appreciate quality. I know engineering companies tend to buy off the shelf stuff then test them then make their own proc spec and ask the manufacturer to produce them with their part number. Sometimes there are a few changes they make during the process and feedback from the field (car service in this instance). But sometimes the off the shelf is just perfect and the engineering company approves it as is. Not sure if I am delivering my view point...

Thinking about the valved system, it isn't that hard for a shop to make it. Just an example will be, get one of those vaccum or electronic egr valves. have stock exhaust but add bypass exhaust pipe to it. when throttle opens full (high rpm) egr valve opens and uses the bypass pipe which will bypass all the baffles and catalytic converters. So no noise at low. is this something ISF has or does it do this at engine level ?

I am not after performance at the moment. I often hear people saying high octane transformed the car. so I wanted to experience that. ... I am now hoping I get better mpg. I didn't check the last one (wrote numbers down but didn't calculate ). But the one before that was 23.4mpg. I haven't chipped is250, sorry. I have chipped land cruiser's. And the chipping unit was called steinbauer. paid 1000 pounds so or for two ecu modules. I had tried the following on one of a car I used to own during teen years: these didn't seem to make difference Bigger battery Performance spark plugs, cables and ignition coil Intake these made slight difference but could been placebo headers exhaust Head shave for increased compression Bore increase for slightly bigger pistons fuel increase (started to Make black smoke but no power increase) This made difference : Supercharger Electronic fuel injection upgrade and dual stage fuel pump intercooler I stopped after that.

It would be nice if it growls only when you want it to growl. like at high rpms. At low it should be a lexus... Is that possible ?
-
So I have to go through a few refills ? Maybe engine ecu changes settings ? I have never used additives. Had been using 95 octane from tesco. I am very stringent when it comes to performance. I have spent money on performance chips in the past and all lost. The only mod that made a difference I noticed was when I put a supercharger in some cheap car.

Once I gave someone a lift and he asked if the car is a hybrid because it's too quiet.... Growl vs super quiet.... Hard to decide. Because I have seen too many subaru, golf and hondas with f@t cans that it just ruined it for me. If there isn't a v8 no point in making it sound like one... it's just me now getting old.
