  1. And thank You to Barry14UK as well! Looks like I can’t edit my post once someone replies. Has anyone opted for servicing plan for their RX?
  2. Good question, as if it is covered under extended warranty, then again it makes sense to have it, or to have service plan, as that would definitely cover that.
  3. Still no joy, but I’ll work it out somehow. I’d like to thank YOU guys for all the help and support in this thread, especially (but not limited to) Royoftherovers (John), Spacewagon52 (David), Herbie, Colin Barber, PCM for all the help and support with the purchase of RX450h In the end I got the Cardiff model (sorry David :(). There were some hiccups during the whole purchase experience (plus that was the very first time I’ve paid for a car before I even saw it in person, but it was totally worth it), and the staff redeemed themselves when we came down, so in the end I would recommend Lexus Cardiff. Guys were really supportive and helpful bunch, it didn’t feel that “salesy” and all was explained in easy to understand manner. Got the GAP with the car as well, just for the piece of mind. I am thinking about getting the service plan as well, not sure yet if I want to or not, I definitely will go with Lexus Warranty when this runs out, and will keep purchasing as long as possible. Car feels and looks new to me, it’s a totally different experience to driving a GS. In fact, we came down to Cardiff in 2018 Peugeot 2018, and even that Pugani felt small and more agile/nimble than the RX yacht, but it’s growing on me on a daily basis. One of the rear bulbs went while I was driving, but I learned to live and breathe with the manual because of RoyoftheRovers (John), so a quick look on page 521 and it got done and dusted. It’s an amazing car to drive, but feels like driving an LS, I’m still learning to “feel it”. The turning angle is abysmal, but other than that love the audio system (12 speakers). In fact, when I tested ML in pre-facelift RX450h, and now in post-lift Luxury, I can’t really tell the difference. ML did add like another dimension to the tunes, but I’m listening from Spotify so it ain’t top range quality audio source. Turns out I’m a second owner as well, first owner did everything in Lexus Cardiff, and that ranges from wheels to suspension ball joints, to even simple things like wipers. It has this amazing IKEA/Furniture store smell inside, and I love it. It has covered 80.000 miles, which equals approx 10000 a year, so standard in my opinion. Interior isn’t immaculate, but I would rate it’s condition 8.5/10 (0.5 for one mark on steering wheel and right-centre vent, and 1 point for the seats). It doesn’t have the acceleration-experience of GS450h (I believe it’s the same detuned 2GR-FSE?) but the MPG is lovely (so far), I will try and squeeze as many miles as possible out of it. Love the interior lights, the power tailgate, the audio quality, the position behind the wheel, and THE SEATS OMG. The steering does require some muscle vs GS, but I guess 2.2 tonnes and 19’’ wheels, vs 17 on GS are the reason behind this. Overall really happy with the purchase, need to work out that DVD, make a decision about service plan, come up with some idea to what I’m going to do to prevent groceries from riding from left to right in there boot (I never owned anything other than a saloon), order floor rubber mats from LExus on eBay, as currently only have colour matching carpets which will look horribly in a week, and just enjoy the drive, 🙂 P.S. I did have a face mask, but took it off for pics
  4. Does anyone know why DVDs show blue screen? Audio plays just fine, but there's no video. Tried two different DVDs, both purchased in UK. Looked up page 202 in the Navigation system manual, but all it explains is how to operate the DVD player, what each button does etc. Car is in Parking mode.
  5. Not sure what to expect from the RX450h then, as I couldn’t tell the difference in breaking between my 3GS450h, LS430 and 2GS300. No, wait. I’m lying. Brakes on LS430 were so good, couple of times I’ve bitten the steering wheel. Really enjoying this thread David, haven’t driven a hybrid in 4 years, cannot wait. Saturday can’t come soon enough!
  6. I’m calm like moneycalm bull (I hate this ad...), was just curious if anyone knew, still awaiting for reply. Paperwork for Cardiff RX450h came through yesterday, so it might be that model after all.
  7. High Peak Autos YouTube channel is decent, but he always disses Lexus/Japanese cars. He is a dealer that owned Q7 and now has Range Rover, so can see where he is coming from. But I like his videos, as long as he is not talking about Japanese cars. Glad You’re happy, basically reading your experiences with 400h reflect mine when I got 3GS450h, but the acceleration was even harder. Passengers would say that they felt their rib was moving closer towards seats and like a plane taking off. In fact, when I had Driveme experience day in Aston Martin V8 Vantage, I wasn’t thrilled with acceleration, as I believe it was like 4.8/4.9s to 60 vs 5.2/5.3 on GS450h, and obviously there was no “instant torque” from Electric motor. Miss that car, sometimes I think about buying GS, and then just going with the roof box for our camping trips... I’m probably one in a million but I prefer CVT over standard auto, purely because of linear acceleration
  8. So that’s the bit I’ve found as well, which explains what Lexus Select: Approved Pre-Owned is, but some cars on usedcars.Lexus.co.uk don’t have “Lexus Select”, but have “Premium Used”, like in the picture I’ve attached above, and I’m just thinking, seeing how not every dealer works in the same way, does Lexus Select mean what it means on website, and Premium Used is just used car without any warranty, 150-point inspection etc but still sold via Lexus Dealership? Like I said some cars have either “Lexus Select” or “Premium Used” next to them, but some of them have both tags, hence why I’m wondering if there’s any difference. I’ve sent an email to general customer services to find out if there’s any difference, or if it’s some sort of grading of the vehicle etc.
  9. Also 2 adults, air con and radio on, I believe it was in July 2016 or something close to that, was driving down to pick up HTC Vive to do a review on my YouTube channel.
  10. Apologies it took so long to reply, as You know I'm entangled in the RX450h buying extravaganza, so took me a while. It was a trip from Manc to HTC HQ in Slough (around 220 Miles one way and back). Yes it was mainly 50MPH, sometimes dropping to even 40MPH. Very rarely 70MPH. It was at a time when the main road through Birmingham was under construction, I believe it was M6 running through Birmingham. So there was a lot of stop and go traffic there, and approximately an hour of driving around 40/50MPH closer to Slough. That's both ways. There was some town driving involved around Slough, and when I got back trip was showing 514 Miles done that day. The remaining 100 Miles (50% of which was done on reserve) was done around Snake Pass (one way uphill, and downhill on way back). It was a pre-facelift 2007 GS450h fully serviced by Lexus with 110.000 Miles, I've bought privately from someone who was part of LOC as well. I remember that reg plate was P10 RMR. I can't remember the gents name, but do remember RMR were his initials. I think Romuald or Roy. I miss this car so much it's unbelievable, unfortunately I lost it due to theft in our house.
  11. Would anyone happen to know what is Lexus "Premium Used" vs "Pre-Approved Select"? I've found what comes with Pre-Approved select: warranty, valet, 150-multipoint check. Does Premium Used lack any of these benefits? Some cars on Lexus used pre-owned website have one or another, sometimes they have both options. Trying to get in touch with customer services over the phone is harder than ringing Pope Francis
  12. Jemca Group, Motorline... I haven't got much luck with the "Dealers" by the looks of it. Looking how Motorline is selling (or actually not selling?) the RX450h I've paid deposit for, has anyone heard of The Car Arena? I'd like to have a plan B in case something on Motorline side doesn't pan out "we knew you're coming but we sold the car anyway". So, Car Arena Something feels weirdly odd about the rear bumper, but I can't put my finger on it. It's not the weirdly knocked far left parking sensor, but more the colour of the bumper. Or is it just me and I need to book Specsavers soon Gents? And the seats. Them dammed seats. 68.000 Miles. Someone had knives sticking out of their pockets?
  13. I've paid a deposit for it last Sunday, but for one reason or another Lexus kept it on auto trader and their website till like Wednesday 😐 Was told it's going to be taken off on Monday. To be honest the whole buying experience isn't the gratest. "We may have it ready for You for Saturday. Or we may not. We may have it ready for Friday, but that's not 100% guaranteed. But we need money by close of play Friday" which means I would have to pay before I even view the car. I know it's Lexus dealership so it's less likely to be a scam, but seriously. If I wouldn't like to get this particular example so much I would have walked away, seriously. I understand that selling £15k car isn't as important £55k brand new RX450h, but if I wanted to feel less valued I'd go and pick up a X5 from BMW.
  14. Found it. Might actually consider it, have You got any pictures please? Dealer hasn't posted any yet. I have a deposit paid for facelifted 2012/13 model but the experience of buying it has not been the best so far...
  15. True. I used to have 3GS450h, I once achieved 614 miles from a tank with avg MPG 43 on a journey from Manc to LDN when I was going to HTC HQ to review HTC Vive, but obviously I could get around 22MPG when I was chasing C63 and BMW M5s on motorway. Heck, I could get 35MPG out of my LS430. I never treated 3GS450h as something that will save me moolah, but more of a performance hybrid. Not sure where RX450h slots, but being faster than Evoque HSE and returning better MPG is a win for me. I believe Porsche Cayenne 4.5 (non-turbo) 0-60 time is similar to RX450h, but returns 18 MPG so that's that. One of my customers today (I'm a Virgin Media Tech), had 3RX450h in I think luxury spec (no sunroof, life pack), with standard non-advance/f-sport grille and he was over the moon with it.
  16. Also, pics or it didn't happen Davey! Let's drool over it together! 🙂
  17. I've been toying with the "do I go Rx400h or RX450h" idea for past 8 months. Current 2GS just doesn't cut it anymore for family of 4 who loves camping. I'm in the same boat, and not sure how I'm going to avoid Boris lockeown, as mine is in Cardiff and I'm in Manchester. I actually started with budget for 400h (the first facelift in 2007), then though well I'm close to 7k so might as well go with 450h, but then decent ones were for 10-11k, which swayed me over to facelift at 15k. I'm glad I stopped as I could end up with brand new for 50k damn it! Anyways, I'm not really sure why I'm going for 450h over 400h. Same performance more or less, same MPG more or less, kinda updated nav with Bluetooth A2DP, but this can be sorted with GROM V line on previous gen, same spec like previous gen, I literally have no idea why I'm going for 3rd gen over 2gen apart from one thing. THE SEATS. Wow, just wow. My LS430 seats were amazing, so were my 3GS450h ones but the ones on 3RX are next level. Worth extra 10k over 400h? Nope. But the rest of the car comes with them, so why not. Glad to heat you're happy with 400h, I might reconsider. Keep your cat safe ❤️
  18. Finally managed to find a decent (I think) example. Started off with looking for SE-I/SE-L for up to 13k, potentially will end up with Luxury for 16k. Paid deposit, car will be taken off sale tomorrow morning. While I would prefer an Advance (because of sunroof) or SE-L/Premier it's really hard to find something within budget from half-reputable dealer (that would be regulated by FCA, which is major requirement from my bank). There's like a Premier for £14k or £15k, but when my bank did some searching on it, turns out it's someone selling cars from home. Mine is currently at Lexus Cardiff, and should be ready for sale on Saturday. Now, I say should, as I didn't really understand why. The sales person told me it's being prepared, but wouldn't give me details. Now because I've experienced "It's being prepared" not that long ago (my first post from this topic), I had flashbacks of wing mirrors falling off and DRLs not working again, but hopefully "being prepared by technicians" means something else when being purchased used from Lexus directly. If I find a decent Premier from at least 2010 by next week or two, where I can get lexus warranty on top for 16k I'll happily take the plunge, but it looks like it's going to be Luxury (which looks like SE-I with spindle grille, DRLs and 7gen nav), and it's not that bad actually.
  19. Holy cheet😲 That's a job well done. Do we have this in our RX450h in UK or was that US only feature? Siri Eyes Free Mode. It looks like Gen 7 system, so facelift 3RX450h
  20. 2013 would be 7th gen Bonus info. 6th gen 2009-2011 (pre-facelift) can ony be updated via HDD replacement. 7th gen be upgraded from USB. Alternatively both can be done by dealer if we're going official way.
  21. So sorry to hear that. As You know I'm after one myself, and now I'm thinking do I still want SE-L/Premier and swap the struts or do I save myself the hassle and go for Advance (I really want sunroof). It's going to be hard to find anything within my budget with FLSH that will allow me to put warranty on, as I believe this is the requirement for the warranty, to be FLSH, so might budget for what I can. I didn't have Lexus Warranty with my 3GS450h and this mistake has costed me my whole car, so understand the position You're in.
  22. Would anyone suggest if there are any companies that fix semi-aniline leather cracks? Is that doable? I'm struggling to believe a car with 68000 Miles would look like this, but it looks like this.
  23. Amazing, thank You so much for this. Very informative stuff. I did "experience" RRG in 2016 (Stockport branch, not sure who owned Manchester when it was still there) and indeed it was poor experience, but we're just people so thought maybe someone just had bad day (or week). A good colleague of mine, Monika S.(just in case someone from RRG is reading this and might want to know who it was after all this years), knowing how impressed I am with 2007 GS450h, went to RRG Stockport in 2016 to buy brand new GS450h Luxury, but apparently service was so appalling she left and bought a... Mondeo. Again, maybe someone had a bad day or something, personal stuff happens, we're all human beings with feelings, but that's the experience I had with them. Still better than BMW and Audi though (BMW close to Trafford, not the one in Manchester City centre). Me and my colleagues are all passionate bunch of people when it comes to cars, and a lot of times when someone gets a new/used/leased car from a dealer I tag along to experience their customer service.
