    Wanted an Auto so had to go for the SE. Does the Sport actually give u anything else over the SE other than Lowered suspension and blacked out windows??And harder ride? General concensus in road tests is the SE handles and rides better.

    Take a look at Autocar magazine this week.All the info on the new Is200 and other Lexi including 2.2 diesel four. And before the anti Diesel brigade starts,Have they actually driven any of the new generation of Diesel e.g Jaguar Xtype.Also there are rumours of a Diesel Lambo Gallardo with the V10 lump out of the Toureg (did i spell it right?) :D The bloke in charge of Lexus says the UK is Lexus's Target for the next few years as sales here havent grown as in other markets.

    Oh well I suppose white cars are all the fashion with girls again you know white stilettos ,white suzuki vitaras ,white socks ,white Lexuses they say the 80's are back in fashion??

    Depends on what they mean by loud?? ;) window breaking house vibrating drum and bass probably doesnt do you any good anyway but loud enough to drown everything out is ok.Remember its a classy car we dont want to sound like Fiesta RS turbo drivers do we?? :zee: :D

    Take a look at the pictures of the LF-C unveiled at the new york motorshow this week,add a roof and 4 doors and you pretty much have the new IS.It will have V6 engines of 2.5 and 3.5 capacity.

    Remember they are artists impressions but I have heard that the new IS is supposed to be similar in looks to the 3 series so if you cross the new GS with the 3 series I think it comes out looking something like these drawings.Wait for the New York motor show and see what the new coupe looks like.Might give some clues.

    Forget the picture of the interior though thats from the streetwise the new 45 has round air vents,Autoexpress up to its old tricks again. Can i suggest you read something with more accurate reports such as Autocar or Car magazine.

    Yes get that too,also indicator noise not really loud enough so you dont know if they are still on or not (Although perhaps I should turn my music down)

    Recently bought an Auto se and test drove a sport. The Auto se was by far more relaxed and comfortable. Remember the Sport has lowered and harder suspension so the ride isnt as comfortable.Ignore the on paper figures for performance,in my experience Auto's are faster away from a standing start,have you ever seen a road tester testing a manual car 0-60 it brings tears to yr eyes.

    Sorry Gib but market forces in the uk make a diesel essential as Ford found out with Jaguar and as most Lexus IS200's are fleet bought its a gap they have to plug.

    Can anybody tell me where I can get any Models of the IS small or large?? I think Tamiya does one but does anyone do a die-cast one?? :D

    Sorry didnt mean you lied mate.Just meant would Lexus really buy engines from BMW being as Toyota is the second largest auto company in the world and spends the largest amount of money on R and D of any Company. Would be a loss of face for the Japanese.

    I dont know whether thats true about BMW engines in Toyotas. Does Toyota need to buy engines from anyone else.Its like Mercedes having BMW engines it just wouldnt happen??Have you been reading AUTOEXPRESS or the SUN?? The reason BMW bought the Diesel from Toyota was because they didnt have a diesel of their own to fit and PSA didnt have the extra capacity spare.When the new Mini is launched 2007 it will have PSA petrol and Diesel engines.

    There will be a replacement for the Is200.The new GS as shown at Detroit and Geneva is the first Lexus designed by the new seperate Lexus design section. Lexus does'nt exist in Japan and these new cars will be the first Lexuses (Lexi?) to be sold as such in Japan.They are also designed in the US as far as i know as the US is by far Lexus biggest market.Rumour has it the new IS looks like the current BMW 3 series and will include a DIESEL for the first time.In Japan Lexus is seen as an American badge and Toyota hopes that when they go on sale in Japan,the Japanese love of all things american will prove to be a good thing.

    Sat in all the Traffic on M25 last night , took 4 hours to get home in Basildon. Thank *** for my Lex.Picked it up on Friday from Hadleigh and am so glad i picked the auto. :D Saw a few other Is200,s,so were any of you stuck with me?? Had to take a pee on the hard shoulder and 2 old ladies wouldnt let me back in because they looked outraged i had peed in front of people .The only thing i miss from my old car is the speed related volume control but all i do now is turn it up and keep it there.
