  1. I have a towbar mounted bike carrier on my UX. Towbar ref RMC Brink B691800. Supplied by : Dee Snyder-Carrier <Dee.Snyder-Carrier@novaleisure.com> Who suggested a local contact for fitting. Cost overall was about £650, supplied and fitted. This was the best solution for me. Had to add the cost of a suitable tow bar mounted rack - depends how many bikes to be carried. Overall it's quite an expensive project but, for me, worth it. Tried roof mounted cycle racks but found great difficulty lifting bikes on safely!!
  2. Updated OK today, downloading to my PC, unzipping and copying the appropriate files to the 3 USB's. Carefully followed the instructions, swapping USB's etc. Took about 2 hours in the vehicle. Seems to work fine. Suggest leaving it to the dealer if you are not particularly PC literate, you are warned.
  3. Wow I didn't think that was it -seems obvious now It works fine, thanks
  4. I have just downloaded the update from Tec-EU no: BE-00436L-TME. It requires 3 USB's which it says can be obtained from Lexus parts Europe although I see no reason not to use USB's of the relevant size. Unfortunately I cannot unzip the downloads - I get asked for Command.cmd password. I tried my PC password to no avail so probably will end up contacting my dealer to see if they will do it. Supposed to take about one hour thirty minutes. Any one got any idea's?
  5. Not sure if I can help. I have Android Auto on my Android phone which activates when in the car. This allows me to use it for navigation and music. I also am waiting for the Apple/Android car play upgrade. Meanwhile I sometimes use Android Auto for navigation with the phone in a holder. I assume an Iphone has a similar app which you may find is being activated by default. Have a look at your apps to check.
  6. I have the same problem. Link mentioned is for the USA - I don't think it's compatible with Europe. I raised a query with Lexus, awaiting a reply.
  7. Just installed 2020v1 update. No problems except takes 2/3 hours and reasonable pc knowledge. Looking forward to getting Android auto/Apple sometime, but when??
  8. Many thanks for the comments and advice. Had my UX on trickle charge overnight - no problems and battery fully charged. Probably repeat this every couple of weeks unless I use the car for an essential journey. I was lucky in that my first service fell due before the lockdown. Mileage was 10,100 in the first year. What a dream machine.
  9. Thinking if the lockdown last much longer and lack of use of my UX, it may be necessary to trickle charge the 12v battery. Anyone done this? If so why does the manual say disconnect the ground lead before connecting the charger? Alternatively I can run the car in park for 60 mins - a recommendation I picked up, not sure where?
  10. Yes, service record in the back of the warranty book. First service next week, 10,100 miles.
  11. I agree wholeheartedly with Lexus, the UX fits our needs perfectly. Mostly just the two of us, sometimes young grandchildren. Overcome lack of boot space by removing both plastic box/liner and replacing them with a Lidl boot liner!!
  12. Is there a Nav update coming to retrofit Apple or Android car play to 2019 UX's? I thought I read somewhere that this is a possibility in the next few months?
  13. The latest advertising for the UX refers to Android play and Apple play as included as standard. Checked with Lexus and it seems to be a retrofit available around March.
  14. Just updated my nav system to latest map version and 1530. Worked fine, although a bit fiddly and need to have reasonable PC knowledge. Took about 2 hours after preparing the two usb's. I had an initial problem confusing 0 for O's - took me three attempts before realising my mistake!! Paid for 1 hour on the Tech.eu site for the 1530 update - plenty of time.
  15. I use Lexus link to send to car navigation destinations. Works fine, easy to set up routes in advance using my smartphone. The only query I have is that when I first open the app it says "one more thing to do before you can enjoy all of our connected services. Please contact your local dealer to help set up the process" Has anyone done this? What are the connected services? Haven't bothered the dealer yet.
  16. I'v used Android auto in the States and look forward to it - much better than the present system.
  17. Mine is the same, seems to be a light sensor behind the screen or somewhere. Example, a short period of reduced light (under a bridge for example), the headlights come on. A longer period of darkness ie a tunnel, lights on and screen dims with black background.
  18. Can anyone tell me if there are any apps which should appear when I take the option App store? All I get is an apparent search which results in nothing? What's the point of this option? I have wifi enabled - close to my house and using my phone as mobile hot spot.
  19. Thanks for your reply. Not long after sending the question I had a relevant experience. On the A30 requiring go to Truro the sat Nav said take the A39 but Google maps directed us off at an earlier B road which avoided the roadworks on the A39. Later we found there were 15mins delay on the A39. My conclusion - about time Lexus adopted Google maps as their Nav system, as we have used with hire cars in North America.
  20. On a recent trip to Cornwall the Nav system came up with 5/6 recalculate route messages. Anyone any idea how the system gets the information?
  21. Used the Lexus app. to send to car a route from Google maps. No problem provided WiFi is enabled in the car and you have a Mylexus account.
  22. Trying to source a rear bumper protector for my UX (Sonic Titanium). Anyone know if, and where from, this is available?
  23. Will European Lexus adopt Google maps as a navigation option? Just back from the USA where with my hire car - not Lexus, I was able to use Google maps via my smart phone linked to the car's navigation screen via Google Auto app. It was far superior to the system on my UX (and my former CT200h).
  24. An update. Since the recent high temperatures my mpg has increased by around 10% to 54/55mpg - using the M5 at around 70/72 mph. I assume this to be less cold weather driving?
