Like comparing apples and oranges, surely?

Yes, both fruit (V8s) but very different in appearance and taste (function)..

GS-F a four seater saloon, family conveyance, RC-F two seater coupé,

To a point maybe, this trip wasn’t about what’s best, it was about what’s best for me in my current family situation. If I felt we would all fit in an rcf then it would have been down to how they drove and felt. I didn’t drive the rcf as that part of the decision was made, the same as not buying an isf with a sunroof, I wouldn’t fit!

  2. Had a drive down to Lexus Gatwick to answer the rcf gsf question for myself. Took my oldest son who's just under 6ft to see if I could get all the family in the rcf. They had a carbon white rcf and a silver gsf. Silver looks better in the flesh than the pictures. They also had a new blue gsf in the workshop they showed me , that looked fantastic.had a look and sit in the gsf first. Beautiful cabin, very comfortable. Heads up display was great. More than enough room. Similarly sized to my old 5 series bmw.

Had a sit in the rcf.  Very nice also. At 6'4" there was no way I could comfortably get the family in so for me it was the gsf all the way.

Went out in the gsf and was more than pleasantly surprised how they seem to have improved in all areas of what I feel is a great package in the isf. Suspension is a massive improvement and the stock noise was also very good.

    Time to start start saving!

@Peter P18 Pete very kindly organised the last Bluewater meet.

I would certainly be up for another - haven't got the foggiest on how to set up a poll for a suitable summer date though!!

Would also be good to catch up with @MattmechMatt & Pete.

Very keen to see Pete's car now he has the supercharger installed - It was impressive enough before this latest mod!! :wink3:

Be good to catch up, try and get a few more this time. It was a good mini meet though!

happy to venture over your side of the water :zorro:

Hi Matt hope you and yours are all well mate.

Yes its taken me long enough!! - was originally in discussions with warranty re H&S exhaust for the ISF when I was bullied (completely against my will) into buying the RCF by the Boss :wink3:

Glad you are pleased with the USRS's - only other thing I would like to have done to the ISF had the warranty not scuppered it.

I hate it when you’re forced into a car purchase!

    she looks cracking though.

will take a while to get rid of the smile when you do a high rev Down change with that exhaust.  Never gets old doing that

hopefully catch up this summer so I can have a better look.

Had mine fitted about 2 weeks ago too!

Bearing in mind I am lowered 25mm at the front on Tein H-Tech springs (which actually made the ride a little softer than stock) and have 15mm H&R spacers each side.

In my opinion the car now feels (comfort wise) like it did stock but with a much more positive steering response and far less vagueness when you turn in hard.

With the springs and the USRS it's no firmer than it was stock, it looks better and handles like my old R32 Golf used to. I'm impressed.

I was just starting to notice a little inner tyre wear on the fronts after 15,000 miles in a little under a year of ownership so hopefully that should will no longer be an issue now.

Keep toying with the idea of putting a set of lightweight 18's on the car having just gone down an inch on the Mrs' Cooper S and saw a huge improvement in overall comfort levels in that car. Anyone running 18's?

Would you be able to fit 18’s on the front and maintain caliper  clearance?

just looking at mine they may go!

  6. Got my bushes fitted this morning and geometry checked. Many thanks to Pete for supplying and the guys at SRD for fitting. As described above it's noticeable straight away. The vague steering feel when pushing on has gone. Steering feels very precise . Can't wait to get s few more miles on them.
