Hi bongo seems strange you getting nothing and can't even lock your car. No us now because it's dark but check your fuse box see if any major fuses blown.

Spray nuetra air/ febreeze aeresol along the leaf screen and into interior vents, drive with max air con temp, this kills the bacteria. As others stated, keep ac on all the time as keeps system lubricated and working properly

If the car won't unlock. Have you tried the blade from the key fob to get into the car? hold the fob against the stop start button and press to see if car starts. Might be the fob battery or the car battery at fault

That's one sweet motor. Congratulations on your purchase. Doesn't look it's age. Even the headlights are crystal clear. Jealous much. May ask you to find my next lexus

Lots of people recommend Mobil 1 fully synth. Had that in my last service by ats. Hasn't used a drop since last july

Hi Mike, yep you Got a bargain there. Great trim level the se-l esp the ml stereo very envious the standard one in mine is great though. I have the 220d at the moment. If you're looking at new tyres I recommend the Dunlop sport max rt2. Have them on mine great tyres for the is. Had them nearly two years plenty of tread left and are profiled to protect your alloys. Another se-l tip, you can set the speedo and rev counter to your personal limits, when reached they turn orange to tell you limit reached v handy feature.

Update to exhaust. Went to Cybox/power flow in bromborough on the Wirral. Supplied and fitted a new stainless steel backbox for £215.

Had a similar problem on my old car with the locking nut, had puncture knackered the locking nut trying to get it off. Cue leaving car overnight until mate could get it off with an old socket AND got ticket for parking in a controlled zone lol. My advice, just get nuts and forget the locking nut, don't think there is a market for old Lexus alloys

Silly me, the rattle went away so left it. Driving home after night shift, heard a rattle and scraping from under car. Stopped when I was able to and found out lost my back box and bumper pulled away from rear side. Always happens to me lol Anyway went to a couple of chain service centres, no dice it's a dealer only part. How much do you think Lexus will charge or will they only do a full exhaust? Any advice appreciated, looking at fleabay, online car part sites. Just worried in case don't order right one or any extra parts required. I know it needs sorting but doesn't seem to have affected exhaust noise much, the pipe looks like it has snapped near to rear of heat shield, bumper pushed back in just bit mangled where pipe was believe it or not drove back to see if could find it but had vanished, didn't want anyone hitting it. Luckily was v early in morning when happened.

Hi Jongs, very tidy looking is. Wish I had the ml stereo lol. Looks like you have the multimedia pack, ml stereo, sat nav screen etc. You have an 07 plate like me. Only issue I have is that every few weeks the EML-VSC-TRC lights come on. Don't be alarmed if you get them. They go away after three or four restarts of the engine. I think it's an emmisions warning linked to the dpf filter. Try to get on the motorway a lot or a roads with 60 limit for over 20min to keep the dpf happy. Saying that mine has never gone into limp mode, just the annoying lights lol. Apart from that only other issue I had was the aux belt snapping but it was over 10yrs old As for fuel I currently get 25 mpg but I do mainly local runs under 12 miles to work hence why I'm looking at a petrol is next. But at the time needed a car and couldn't resist an is.

Hi Jongs and welcome to the forum. It's a friendly place and ask any questions. I too have an is220d, had a few issues but it's a 10year old car but I love it. Mine just passed its mot again with no advisories so very happy. what trim level did you get? Mine an se-l plenty of bells and whistles, lovely comfy car to be in and drive. Next Lexus for me will be either another is but petrol or a gs if finances allow. be warned, once you get the Lexus bug it's hard to shake. I won't get any other ar. Hope you have a speedy recovery

Just got in from work, today whilst idling in car park heard a rattling sound from rear of car is220d. Got out Put foot on bottom of exhaust lifted up slightly and noise stopped. Not loud but annoying as new sound to me. Just wondering if anyone had similar in past? Hopefully just a loose bracket or something. Only noticed it because had all windows down cos too bloody hot.

With new rules regarding emmisions, visible smoke etc, was worried putting my 07 is220d in for the mot. Have had issues in past with the smokey exhaust as have others. Anyway passed mot no advisories so very happy another year with the is for me. Big relief.

Hi all left work and joined motorway. Noticed battery light stayed on. Kept driving only 10min drive home. Left motorway then lost power steering then dash lit up with loads of lights. Managed to get into a car park and stopped. Couldn't restart thought had dead battery. kindly breakdown guy turned up and produced the remnants of the aux belt and said water pump was shot. Car done 103k so not a surprise if the original pump. Towed to garage where hopefully be repaired Asap. was really surprised as hadn't noticed any belt slipping noises or loss of any coolant just went kaput. Glad was off the motorway when it did go. Scary having no power steering and a light display all at once. Just waiting for wallet damage.

To Shornw is220d owner here. Love my is even though the diesel. Try to find an is250 auto in SE-L trim level. There are plenty out there. Try autotrader and motors.co.uk. Plenty on there depending on how far you want to travel. Bought mine last Feb for £3500 92k on clock. Mechanically faultless passed mot no advisories. Everything works on it. Had a terraclean and egr service done too. BUT still smokes like its on fire every so often. Egr probably needs doing again. Get the well documented vsc eml triangle lights coming on occasionally but always resets after three restarts without limp mode activating. Needs regular motorway use to avoid problems, despite this you will love driving a Lexus I won't be buying any other cars only Lexus for me. Plan on keeping mi 220d for a year more then looking for another is in petrol auto. If you're lucky you may find a is250 auto with the mark levinson audio, sunroof, touch screen system. This I would buy.

Ah that makes sense. Thanx for a quick reply. Just found it unusual because had a Toyota Corolla which never did that. Temp was 1 degree here when got in and yes the ac green light did stay on after restarts. Phew thought had problem

Hi everyone hope you all enjoying the snow. Today I have noticed that when I restart my car the ac button is not lit but lights up again when pressed. First time noticed this. Always have the Ac on so noticed wasn't lit when restarted car. Could it be because it's below zero degrees and its some sort of power saving feature? So your battery isn't battered in the cold? Only happened since the temp has dropped. Cars eh?

Hi alans27 I was In a similar position to you. Had a Toyota Corolla which sadly passed after 15years trouble free service. Bought an is220d which I love but would advise you to get an is250 auto and if you like the older model get it in se-l trim because lots of toys lol. Try to get one with a sunroof and mark levinson stereo but are like hens teeth to find with both. If your budget can stretch look at the gs250 always coveted one myself. whatever you choose you will love a Lexus, lovely cars.
