  1. If you clean the throttle body Make Sure You Unplug The Multiplug it has. Failing to do that and you move the butterfly then you'll have issues alright. Have you got Techstream? If not then get it. Run it's diagnostics to see if there are any hidden codes. And as Lucas mentioned. Check the plugs and coil packs. How many miles on your car? You could have a carbon build up issue which can cause running issues. Do you know the cars service history?
  2. Absolutely. One has to keep on top of the condition of the cars battery. If I were you I'd regularly, as in daily, measure the voltage of the battery and at the same time of day. With the age of these cars now the alternator may be showing signs of dying. As an example. My beloved is250's alternator packed up at around the 85k mile mark. And my car had a 100% dealer service history. Just a thought.
  3. That sound remi is me of someone local who has a LS430 with what can only be described as a straight through exhaust system. Sounds ruddy awesome. Lowered aswell. Looks good.
  4. Yes. A tough choice. The 335d is a fabulous car and one I've kind of wanted for the past 15 or so years. But the is250 overall is a better car and will outlast the beemer. Enjoy your is250. I miss mine terribly.
  5. Which car are you talking about? Malc mentioned a GSF yet your profile states a LS600h. Either way your nexbase, if correctly wired, will Not drain your cars battery. Not even if wired to be on all the time.
  6. Oooops read Price for time in my last post.
  7. Sorry but you're wrong. Insurance companies now Must give renewal quotes at the same time a new customer would get a quote for. It's now law
  8. Hi Arfan. You should look in the 'for sale' section of the forum. Other than that the usual two suspects of auto trader and ebay. Have you looked in the gen 2 IS secret of the forum? Excellent thread on what to look out for when buying an is250. I see you have a GS450h. Are you downsizing?
  9. Hi Jason and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. By new battery on one of your shortlist. Ask the vendor what they mean. It could be that the 12v battery was changed and not the main drive battery. You should look in the GS section of the forum and search there for known issues (if any) As for the battery check. Its actually a Hybrid Health check. Yes it's free but only as part of a Lexus service. I forget how much the Hybrid Health check is, if done as a stand alone thing, but £55 rings a bell. As for the car it's self. One helluva excellent car. You won't be disappointed.
  10. I don't recall that noise in my beloved is250 therefore as a safety thing and piece of mind I'd take the car to Lexus or a Trusted garage for them to investigate.
  11. Hi Taseen. Is it just the date that's wrong? Are all other functions of the screen working as they should?
  12. Hi Mike. Does that clunk noise happen only on full lock and when turning both right and left?
  13. You should let us know how your cars MOT goes with your LED headlight bulb upgrade. As you say they Are illegal to use but also, as you say, the pattern of the light beam doesn't cause a 'blinding' effect. As for the 'standard' bulb being terrible I think that's harsh. I 'upgraded' to the Osram night-breakers on my beloved is250 and that I found was a very good upgrade and is a popular upgrade.
  14. Hi. Look on ebay for a satnav disc for your dad's car. Chances are there isn't a disc in the drive and that's why that prompt is showing on the screen.
  15. I'd have to disagree a bit Martin only because the EV vehicles I've seen being 'driven' have been 'driven' almost like they stole them. And it's All age groups. On the other end of the scale, and this is where lack of safety is, are those who eek out the range of their EV's by doing 50mph on motorways. Darn right dangerous behaviour. They should have their licences revoked.
  16. Hi Stephen. To quote a character from Little Britain "yeah I know"
  17. I've not had a hybrid for a good few years now but the ones I had the EV mode switched off once 30mph was reached. Also top speed in EV mode was upto 30mph. Cars were 2x is300h and one RX450H. I drove them as a normal car. Sometimes very hard and fast and sometimes nice and slow and everything else in-between. The is300h's never fell below 50mpg no matter how I drove them. The RX was around 35mpg which for a big V6 I was more than happy with.
  18. Well I suppose that's what one gets when they don't go to a main dealer for an important electric component for a car, yes being old, but needs Proper maintenance and not from a third party establishment.
  19. Have you used Techstream to see if there are any issues it may pick up? I remember vividly when the alternator on my beloved is250 packed up. Straight to Lexus for them to sort. Worth every penny. No issues whatsoever after I got the car back.
  20. Happy New Year to Everyone on this wonderful forum. No matter which Lexus you drive, or not. I can't wait to own one again. I wish you all the best in Health and happiness.
  21. Personally I found Extreme E very watchable. Very exciting racing and from fabulous rally cross drivers. Formula E however boring as hell.
  22. If I remember right the spray pattern is a fan type spray and Not a jet.
  23. I got 2 new jets from ebay. I just typed windscreen washer jets for 2007 lexus is250 and up popped plenty of them. I can't remember how much I paid but I think around £16 which I thought was more than fair. Plus I got them 2 days after I ordered them. Personally I can't see using amayama or similar when the same stock, if not better, can be got for a similar price and within a couple days of ordering. But each to their own.
  24. The wheel bearings are pressed I to the hubs. Therefore new hubs unless you know what the bearings are and k ow a shop that'll press old out and new in. Have you checked the exhaust heat shield? When they're loose all strange noises are heard.
  25. Oh how that reminded me of when my alternator went. All dash lights came up and I mean All. The car lost power steering. Not even a new fully charged battery cured the lights but it did the steering. As some may remember I rang Lexus Stockport and they got me in the same day. Cost was £800 but that's what had to be done. Mind you I got a UX250h for 3 days for no cost which softened the blow. In my case there was No supercharger type noise so basically the tell tell signs if any are loss of power steering and all dash lights on but the car driving normally.
