  1. Its in the bodyshop today (Euro Vehicle Engineers) in Boreham, Essex. Lets hope they do a good job, I cant bear to look at that dent anymore!!
  2. Thanks for all your advice guys... I have had a couple of "Smart" repairers (like chips-away) out and they all said to try a bodyshop because the bumper will need removing and reforming... I wish i'd hit the metal now, It would have been cheaper! i might try my Lexus Dealer tho as PQuist suggested before I take it into the bodyshop.
  3. Quick update: Chips Away and & Dent Devils and the like can't really do much with the dent cos its on the plastic bumper and the plastic won't 'pop back' like metal.. I took it to my local resonably reputable body shop who say the bumper and bodykit need removing then the bumper heated up and reformed. It can then be painted and refitted: £170! grr.... I'm still seriously considering sawing down that post in B&Q car park! :P
  4. Hmmm... Do you fancy doing mine too while youre at it marcus??
  5. You reckon 'dents away' type people could fix this? I thought they were for little parking dings and scratches.. it would be cool if I could use a mobile service..
  6. Pants! Whilst out at B&Q I reversed the car into a wooden triangular post! (I'm sure it just jumped up out of the ground ) Anyway pretty pee'ed off about the whole matter, but I've had a good look underneath and in the boot and it looks like the damage is just cosmetic. Its not worth an insurance claim, but I'd like the damage sorted out. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions about the best way of fixing it? Could it just be sanded out and resprayed? I know the pics aren't great but the 'dent' is about an inch or so wide and is worse at the top. It runs down the bumper for about five inches but is quite shallow as it runs down. :o can't believe I whacked it still!
  7. I'd second that! There must be an answer to every Lexus related question in this forum somewhere! (except maybe "how many Lexus dealers does it take to change a front fog light bulb!! :P )
  8. I still can't wait till every morning to drive mine!! or find an excuse to drive it at anytime! any pics of your new obsession Ally?
  9. Besty, whats that rear window spoiler you have? now thats very very nice! how much are they too? also anyone have any idea on how much the TTE front spoiler is? I think its the best looking one I've seen so far.. B) :D
  10. Hi everyone! I have finally uploaded some pics of my baby into the gallery. I spent the whole day washing and prepping my IS... then it rained! Anyway I whipped out the chamois and the digicam and snapped a few piccys before the next shower. I think to make my car look really kick-***** it needs a better front bumper.. Any ideas? (the skirts and rear valence are standard Lexus Styling Kit) :D Photo One PhotoTwo Photo Three Photo Four
  11. I nearly bought it! but when i phoned oxford they had sold it 20mins before! so i bought my lovely IS200 S in blue from Twickenham...
  12. man than sucks... still at least your windscreen is fixed and I'm sure the car doesn't look half as bad as when you first saw it after the little **** broke the glass.. If you need it, I know a good bloke in Maidstone who will repaint that piller and have it looking as good as new in an afternoon. PM me if you want his number.. ^_^ :)
  13. That is really **** Marcus :tsktsk: I hate having to park my car up in public areas. If its not vandalism (I had a brick thru my 206 DT window last year for no reason), its someone trying to fit their overweight toddler into their Daewoo's baby seat repeatedly bashing their door into your lexus with their fat Ar5e!!!!
  14. Maybe at the next club meet there should be a little lexus race!!!?
  15. I know, I know.. They are from my last (narrower) Civic Coupe Shell, Big fat black 5 spokes are on order!!! :D
  16. I think it needs wider wheels tho... ;) Seriously, for those who are interested this is a Tamiya TA-04 TRF Radio Controlled car with the Tamiya HKS Altezza lightweight body. Capable of 40-50 odd MPH in the right hands (not mine) :shutit: People give me funny looks when i turn up at tescos carpark and pull this out of the boot of my IS!!!
  17. Oh yes, it was easy enough getting the lamp unit out... but the bulb had seized in the holder (a common problem apparently) and lexus actually broke the bulb trying to get it out!!! anyway, they replaced the whole unit FOC :D £153 worth according to the service manager! :o
  18. and what a b :tsktsk: h they are to change!!! (at least on my auto!) :megaangry:
  19. My repost from another topic... it still facinates me that the auto is substantially cheaper to insure than the manual.. anyone else seen this? "Insurance is weird tho as i found out when looking for my Lex... S/SE/Sport were not too much different in terms of premium (about £35 between the S and the Sport). But the Auto (which I eventually bought) was on average £100 less than the equivalent manual I'm 25, live in a low risk Postcode, 7 years NCB, no convictions and my premium ended up at £434 with Direct line, although Tesco and Egg were pretty competitive also"
  20. I too have an IS200 Auto, and although its not rapid, the performance is sufficient and the auto box is well suited to the engine. I think the performance issue is more to do with the engine than the 'box... and I also think to drive the manual quicker than the manual you would need to be very procient at pulling away cleanly and changing gear at the right time. my 2p's worth ;) :)

  22. Got mine a week ago, and the grin is still there! look--> :D Still trying to find any excuse to drive it, any time I'm not in the car I'm on this site. Wish Petrol was cheaper though, cos I'm getting through loads of it at the mo, maybe my right foot will calm down after a few weeks.
  23. Group Buy on Optimax petrol then???!!! ;) :D ;)
  24. Welcome Lexy200!! I'm fairly new round here too, but totally addicted to the site... I'm planning to go Gold just as soon as I get paid again (my last pay packet went on deposit and insurance - cant even afford fuel for my IS now!!! )
