  1. Where are you in Leicestershire? I have a similar device, from Halfords, that you could try to see if it fits, if not too far away. I'm in Mountsorrel.
  2. I've never bought a car that actually hit the advertised mpg yet and city driving wouldn't help to get there IMHO. Secondly, give that salesman a bonus for turning a disgruntled customer into a returning buyer! Been there myself, sucked in by those silver-tongued tempters! Into your pocket faster than a grand child!
  3. Good info. Thanks. My Connected Services only shows 'Trial Services' and does not show any to add nor a settings button anywhere on the app. I assume that my car doesn't support anything more.
  4. Good that he doesn't drive the RX. He'd have shoved the other car into orbit!
  5. Can anyone tell which Lexus Jimmy Tarbuck was driving during his recent 'hit and run' escapade? Papers state a 'Green, 2 litre model' but I can't tell from the images and I'd like to know if my car is capable of shunting another 'the length of 3 houses' and still get me home! I wonder why he didn't stop? Answers on a postcard perhaps?
  6. Worked brilliantly in my Volvo V40. Averaged 70+ to the gallon constantly and as I worked near London I was in traffic queues forever!
  7. What about the CD player. It's so well hidden that it's hardly there at all!
  8. Having followed much the same route, NX - retirement -UX, I can say that although the UX is lovely and the driver's area does not seem much smaller, overall I wish I'd stuck with an NX. Boot space is restrictive and the rear seat drop is now a regularly used feature. I am thinking that when we go to one car in 3 or 4 years time then the LBX may seem a logical step.
  9. Sorry I can't help Christof but just wanted to say how great your English and grammar is. You should hear my German!
  10. I personally believe that Lexus sales staff have a a slightly exaggerated view of their own importance - to a degree. I'm willing to bet that you get a follow up asking what they need to do to secure a deal (when it's too late). Same happened to me twice. I try to make it clear that whilst I understand that they need to make a profit we all have budgets and I make my best (and fair) counter-offer. If it's declined I don't hang around or try to batter them with further comms. That's what best and final offer means.
  11. Does this help? This was a couple of months ago but still current I think.
  12. Trackpad. The system works really well I find and I hardly ever actually use the pad whilst driving. I use an Android dongle and the voice controls are excellent - apart from asking Google to play a specific music track and then it's a lottery! One thing the car does that may have a bearing is that it connects to the house wifi every time it's on my driveway.
  13. Not sure where I find that info but the attached shows the release at the bottom, I think.
  14. Since upgrading, mine now tells me when the doors are open and the trip record works fine. Two trips to Melton yesterday with mpg that makes me smile. 😁
  15. Even if I had a 'AC' button I would leave it on anyway as the best way to stop misting up. I'm not sure why and although I have checked the car for damp, this passed week or so my rear screen has been very heavily condensed! The rear screen demister seems to take an eternity to clear it but it does clear eventually. Maybe it's just the 'Season of Mellow Fruitfulness' having its way!
  16. Thing is: A. I wanted low-priced running costs and B. I don't want to burn down the building. Thanks for everyone's help though! 😜
  17. One thing I know from reading/following this forum is that there are some clever characters on board who appear to not only give good advice but do it in a non condescending manner. I know it's not car related but could anyone advise on a method of heating and when I say that I mean basically just taking the chill-off my garage, using a solar powered heater? I see that 12v fan heaters are readily available (to thaw cars apparently) but can I just buy a 50w solar panel, wire-on a 12v aux port and plug in a car heater perhaps? Sounds a bit too simple. Apologies to all if I shouldn't be asking here, particularly as there is no chance of my car ever fitting into the garage!
  18. And today the Biometrics won't work! At least they emailed to let users know!
  19. I can live without electric seats but the lack of an adjustable lumber support in my Premium 'Sport' Pack is a massive oversight imho.
  20. I used to get the golf clubs in my NX with no problem but they wouldn't fit my UX - if I still played. I drop the 1/3 rear seat to fit in two long gun boxes (1250mm). The good thing is that not only can they not be seen due to the privacy glass. Noise doesn't increase either!
  21. The more I read the more I think - pay someone! Let them do the work and you can sit back and enjoy your cobbles!
  22. Could you enquire through something like 'Nextdoor' if anyone has a suitable Garage or workshop that you could rent for a day or two? There are many car enthusiasts about who may love to share their experiences etc.
  23. I temporarily had a new Chr with the same infotainment system as the new UX so I'm assuming yours is like that. Big, wide touchscreen etc. That worked perfectly and the voice command system was spot on. I'm going to ask them to check my aerial at the next service but I do wonder if these fins are up to the job. Since fitting a Bluetooth dongle I tend to use Android Auto and BBC sounds. This keeps the signal, the Google voice works well and the Navigation seems smoother than the built-in version. As long as the phone's not in your pocket that is as there's very little 5g where I drive and Levis appear to be excellent signal blockers!
