  1. You certainly need a new rear subframe. If it was mine I'd fire in a second hand one complete with lower arms and left hub assembly. The rest of the components such as drives diff and shock will be fine. It's not a massive job and a good mechanic should be able to do it in half a day. Biggest hastle is removing and reattaching handbrake cables. Can't say if the rim will need attention but bin the tyre regardless of how it looks
  2. A penguin grows tired of the cold winters in Alaska... So he buys a used Corvette and heads south for warmer weather. About five hundred miles into the trip the Corvette starts to overheat. He stops in a small town and finds a mechanic to get the issue fixed. The mechanic says he is not going to be able to look at the car for an hour, so the Penguin asks him if there is any place to eat while he waits. The mechanic says there is a great fish and chips right around the corner. So, the penguin leaves and gets a nice lunch. An hour has passed and he heads back to the repair shop. The mechanic has the car on a lift, so the penguin asks the mechanic if he found the issue. The mechanic says “It looks like you blew a seal.” The penguin wipes the side of his mouth and says “No, that’s just tartar sauce.” though I'd try keep this thread going so I've copied this from another forum
  3. I run 235 35 19 all around for over 3 years. Not an issue. It won't effect your speedometer anything worth as they are factory set to read over anyway I'd consider 4 wheel alignment not because the tyre size changes but the fact you managed to do damage
  4. Yeah it's £30 a year for our is300h and Peugeot 308hdi altogether. And I still hate paying it!
  5. That will be us getting 👉👌 I wonder how much our £20 a year Peugeot will go up
  6. Is it manual yet? Thinking of converting mine
  7. That yoke is knocking a rod! Close the bonnet and take a video of it from 10 feet away, if it sounds just as loud it's bottom end. If it sounds faint from 10 feet it's something smaller up top.

Interested in details of the manual one. More interested in a price for it Sorrr just noticed your advert. Was more looking a cheap high mileage one for a project
  9. Remove the bumper and repair the wiring. There's a great how to pinned on the forum for bumper removal
  10. No no no no no sir! No logos and no shiny paint. Sattin black only. My idea is to make them as un noticed as possible. Just nice clean lines
  11. I do all my cars black. Its clean tidy and un noticed. You don't notice black but you notice rust or a colour with brake dust on it.
  12. Not done it on a 300h but it's usually remove glass then pop clips to remove rear cover then unscrew indicator lense. The bulbs don't usually blow so be prepared to look at damaged wires from mirrors folding while your in there.
  13. I'd be seriously interested in buying that if you do decide to sell. A mark 1 is and a volvo 340 are top of my list to own.
  14. Or sell it to me and il send you many of pics of it beside our 300h and other fleet of classics because Ive an illness of car hoarding and on the look out for a good mk1 is.

  16. You'd get far better value sticking with your indy now it doesn't have a full dealer history. He just needs to check the gear oil fan belt and clean and grease the brake slides next time. That's the only extra bits needed
  17. I've had alarm issues at this time of year this year and last. But my 12v battery is just over 2 years old. I'm convinced there's a fly or a spider inside as it's parked with front windows open an inch through the day.
  18. Well mine was wrote off when I bought it and I service it myself, hope it never sees a dealer again! They are that relayable the warranty isnt an issue so the independent servicing wouldn't be so bad if you prefer savings.
  19. No them sort of things are more for vw golf drivers.
  20. Yes probably was a day's work. He does it as a sideline. Droped it off at 5.30 on Friday evening so he can wash it and do any touch ins and let them dry overnight. Picked it up on Saturday afternoon like a different car. To be honest I think he fell in love with it. Couldn't compliment it enough on how nice of a car it was and was pleasently suprised when he washed it to find out it had never been to drive through car washes. He said it made the job so much easier
  21. He asked £100 as a trade rate and I paid him £120 before I had even seen the car. I think I paid him too little as the pictures do it no favours. Its like a sheet of glass Finnish. The tyres aren't done in the pictures as they don't use silicon products inside. They done the tyres outside when we were collecting it.
