  1. Totally agree with your perspective!!! Well done, I wonder if there is really a software update that works for it!?
  2. Yes, you can definitely charge the battery up with a smart charger, and it's definitely the 12v. Won't need much of a charge to get it to starting point, then the hybrid battery charges it after that. As you say, you just may not have done enough long enough journeys to keep it happy. Use the charger every couple of weeks to charge it fully will keep it sweet. Also very cold weather doesn't help it...
  3. Hi! During lockdown a number of people with hybrids, including NXs and RXs have had issues with the hybrid auxiliary (the 12v) battery running down due to non-use. However, as long as the battery is well charged up before it's left (eg. A long journey to the airport, or good use in the days preceding), it should be fine for at least a fortnight. People have reported they have not had issues leaving them at airports under normal conditions. The problem with lockdown is that people aren't doing significant and frequent journeys. The 12v only needs to have enough juice to get the hybrid system to READY mode, it doesn't have to be able to trigger a starter motor. In a nutshell I'm saying don't worry about it, if you're aware of the potential for a problem you should easily be able to counter it. Personally the battery on my 2019 NX although discharging has still started the system up after no use for over a fortnight. HTH In every other respect, don't forget these are Lexus... More reliable than any other make!
  4. Official photos? OFFICIAL PHOTOS?! 😆 where where where?! 🤣
  5. See https://www.motor1.com/news/487217/next-gen-lexus-nx-rendering/ To me, this isn't sufficiently different to the current model to be a new "generation"...
  6. There is no setting to enable auto locking when leaving the vehicle. Period.
  7. No, you're right, that's correct. I do this when I'm cleaning it too.
  8. Yes it does. It was interesting to watch back my dashcam footage of when they did mine, because they basically have to leave the hybrid system in READY mode for the 3 or 4 hours that it takes them to do, which meant the dashcam recorded for the duration. Unfortunately this also meant my headlights were ON for the duration of the upgrade (as it's dark in the workshop!!!). You'd think they would switch them off! Sadly, no. 🙄
  9. Hi Javier, I can confirm that I can play my USB stick music without any problem at all. The unit sees it when I insert it and it plays the music off it perfectly. Sorry! 😞 I didn't have to change any settings, Android Auto is still set as the preferred system. Good luck sorting out the problem! regards Steve
  10. I think he's saying that he left it unlocked, but after he walked away it locked itself and set the alarm. This is not my experience at all, I didn't know you could set the NX to auto lock in these circumstances.
  11. The glasses holder is under the vanity mirror. I manage to fit two pairs in there!
  12. Hi Javier, welcome! I have had the Android Auto upgrade too but I haven't tried playing my music from my USB stick yet. I will try it tomorrow and see if it works for me and let you know. Cheers!
  13. ? - the fuse is already in the car, and everything else is in the fitting kit...? I assume you have the Series 2 hardware kit and the Low Profile Mini Fuse tap which you have to ask Nextbase for as it's not in the kit. It's free but make sure you ask them for it. I see I said all this before. Sorry! 🙄 https://www.nextbase.com/en-gb/accessories/series-2-hardwire-kit/
  14. Hi John, I used the 5A ACC fuse to piggy back onto, on the "lid diagram" it's bottom right but one. Note that the lid will no longer fit on once you've piggy-backed, so just keep it somewhere safe, preferably in the car! HTH
  15. Yes... a long thread here, all about it... However, I don't accept that it can't be rectified - of course it can, if Lexus put the appropriate amount of work into it. My dealer swaps out my sensors when I report them and the problem does seem to go away.
  16. Reviewed by Which in 2014, they said, "The Lexus NX complies with emission limits in official tests. However, when faced with our own, more realistic emission tests, the amount of CO (carbon monoxide) produced was so vast that it would not only fail all EU emissions limits set this century, but the Euro 1 limits from 1992 - despite it being a hybrid." I knew this before I bought mine in 2019 and it didn't put me off. I also wrote to Which to ask them to retest as there have been a few tweaks since then. Looks like they never did, so still quote this fact all the time. ☹️
  17. I've definitely had EV mode at 50mph - I don't think it's that unusual. Depends on circumstances.
  18. If you check out the earlier parts of this thread, you will see that no one so far has reported a cat theft from an NX, probably because the cat is so difficult to get to (see all the diagrams and discussion). On the RX it's easily accessible and aided by the height of the vehicle. I don't worry any more as I have an NX.
  19. What model do you have? If an NX you really have nothing to worry about. If an RX you probably need to take precautions.
  20. Chuffed to bits with my Android Auto upgrade on my NX 2019. Having Google Maps displaying satellite view is fabulous. It suggests destinations based on where I've been before at similar times, and having to plug it in when I get in the car is simply not any sort of issue at all. Much prefer Google Maps to Waze (also owned by Google) as, like someone else has said, it is too cartoon like for me. Google Maps remains the original and best Android map system.
