  1. Looking at facelift phase 4 GS 450hs. After 6 weeks the 2017 f-sport has dropped from £29950 to 24450 overnight. Is this a record?
  2. Previous car finally died a couple of weeks ago forcing a rapid purchase of a UX. Wanted specific colour and trim Takumi. Only one new takumi of wrong colour was seemingly available nationwide. Rang round many dealers and found exact spec model in a showroom, recorded centrally as sold, but not actually sold. Bought it over the phone and delivered on transporter a week later. Presumably there are some cars available without waiting for an order to be fulfilled. It is a great car and very pleased.
  3. Has anybody had a spare wheel fitted, either a full size or space saver? If so have they been able to retain use of the under floor tray please? If no spare wheel is fitted, has anyone managed to fit a deeper box in place of the tray,or been able to modify the tray to make it deeper? Anything to improve the boot storage area really!
  4. In a car to do high milage is there an upholstery colour to avoid? I like cream colour, is than an issue? Thank you
  5. Looking at buying 3-4 year old RX Premier Series 4. I apologise if this has been discussed before, however I cannot remember seeing this recently. There are occasional cars outside and inside lexus dealerships with milages 70-90k which are considerably cheaper than 5-20k milage cars. (maybe £1-1.5k per 10k miles.) If car has a lexus extended warranty it can be covered until about 12 years and any milage ( as long as first warranty taken out when less than 140k. When selling car at 12 years, if doing 10k a year, difference of value of 90k vs 160k car with flsh may be far less than the initial prices? Questions are: Are there any items (apart from brakes) likely to fail in the milage 90-160k which would not be covered by the warranty? (My GS450h has done 70k and the front brakes are 1/3 worn.) Is the drive of 20k/80k/160k cars much different? Look forward to your thoughts John
  6. Hi Chris, I am looking at a UX, main issue is the boot size. (Other contenders being Macan and new GLA.) Please are you, and/or others able to post pictures, with measurements, of their 'solutions' to this? It would be really helpful. Particularly in view of having to make an appointment to look at any car or visit dealership!
  7. Thank you for tour comments and advice. I agree, HUD is a big plus. I will wait and see what appears after lock-down.
  8. My 2013 gs450h Premier is a fab car. So good that I am considering upgrading to the facelift. There are only 78 gs450h premier from 2016-18, with 1-3 available at any one time. Facelift has more safety features: Traffic sign recognition, Adaptive cruise control/Pre-crash safety, Lane keep assist, Adaptive high beam, Rear cross traffic alert, LED headlamps. Different seat trim, updated multimedia system and stiffened body with 'tuned' suspension steering and brakes, head up display. I was wondering is there any perceptible difference in the way the facelift drives, or the multimedia system functions? I imagine the seats would be pretty much identical?
  9. On my reading of price list, Takumi is £39 930 so any non standard colours etc would push it over the £40k, but I may be wrong.
  10. Thanks Paul, that is really helpful. I had a UX f sport for a couple of days and after you got used to driving it was a really fun car. I have not driven the 'normal' chassis. John
  11. Great, gives excuse to buy F sport Takumi, unfortunately they are just over the £40k premium tax level I think, whereas standard takumi just under it. so extra £320pa for years 2-5.
  12. On Lexus website and Carwow azure blue has disappeared, leaving only Celestial Blue. Disappointing as azure blue is darker.
  13. thank you, I have a Gs450h with the adaptive suspension, when you put it in sports+ it is firmed up for the corners. Can’t tell how much better it is than non Atvs as have not driven gs without it.
  14. Good morning, I am looking at buying UX, it will have to have leather memory seats, so has to be Takumi. I was wondering, has anyone driven the F sport Takumi and standard Takumi to compare? What is the difference in seats comfort? Is the handling/suspension much different?
  15. I recently had a UX for the weekend and thought it a brilliant car. The only poor point was boot space, a supermarket shopping bag being taller than the boot with standard floor and cloth parcel shelf. Please does anybody have pictures (and measurements ) of the 'bowl' or other adjustments that may be made? Many thanks John
  16. Hi, Just joined forum. I have had my 2013 gs450h for about a year now. Excellent car, 37-40mpg, only small problems have been alarm going off in windy weather and loose exhaust heat shield, both fixed under warranty. Interestingly 2 out of the 3 gs450h premier I looked at non-functional mid lumbar adjustment. I had this fixed as part of the deal when purchased. It is a big job taking They said a day and the part is very pricey. worthwhile checking.
