  1. There appear to be 28 F-sport GS450h from 2016-18. The numbers of f-sport being sold each month seems to be similar to the premiers, so they appear to be changing owners more frequently.
  2. Hi Colin, thank you for your help. I have been looking for a while, only about 20% have sunroofs I think. One will appear!
  3. I am looking for GS450h Premier Phase4 Facelift 2016-18. preferably with light interior and sunroof! There will be some out there! Please get in contact. John
  4. BMW, some Mercedes and VW, honda accord and lexus have bottom hinged pedals. With these you can have foot held at several different angles. With top hinged pedal your foot seems to be needed to be jammed between the pedal and footwell wall, or held in bad position causing pain in thigh or back.
  5. Hi, I am looking at changing car (GS450h phase 4). I was wondering if the Phase 4,16-21 RX450h has an accelarator pedal that hinges at the bottom or the top? My GS hinges at the bottom like an organ pedal, which seems to allow your right foot to be held in many positions, reducing potential backache.
  6. The thread in pistonheads was in relation to delays due to Covid pandemic in servicing a lexus car, and leeway that may be give in that respect. I should have detailed that.
  7. This thread. In pistonheads https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=&t=1874559 appears to say that for extended warranty there would be 2 month/3000 mile (whichever first) leeway in the service schedule to maintain the extended warranty. I am unsure of the first date of problems with the Original posters rx450h, but if it was prior to 20/3/21 (14 months after battery test) a good argument should be put forward for battery warranty to have the same conditions as extended warranty?
  8. i want to reassure the usual driver of the car that if the car is dead, in a dark car park, they can safely start the car from within the car (after entering with mechanical key.) Rather than having to open bonnet to jump start. If leads misconnected when jumping car in poor light or with anxious situation,it may fry the electrics (as discussed a while ago when emergency repair technician did this.
  9. Lexus UX has dead battery. This may be due to ‘lockdown battery’, or may not. Battery is in boot. I have looked for a solution to be able to jump start car without opening bonnet, or boot. (Boot opening involves lowering seats, crawling into boot, using screwdriver to move a lever.) (I think Herbie fitted sockets in RX dashboard to do this.) noco appear to make a wire set with eyelets to leave permenantly attached to the battery, these can be plugged into their jump start box, but the wires are very short and would not extend out of boot. They do not appear to make an extension set. ctek make a mobile completely portable battery charger (cos free) but it appears to only work if the battery has >3V (mine had 0.13V) also again. I imagine the amount of electricity needed to charge the battery enough to start the vehicle is relatively small. Please does anybody have a solution that does not involve opening bonnet or boot?
  10. To reassure people with pre 1/7/2003 cars, there are quite a few of them, with minor faults and lights on.
  11. Although it does not apply in this case, older cars are not failed due to warning light being on; Cars failed are; petrol vehicles with 4 or more wheels, not more than 8 passenger seats in addition to the driver’s seat and first used on or after 1 July 2003 in MoT manual; https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles/8-nuisance
  12. Sheffield Lexus have a GS 450H SE registered 30/9/08 with only 7230 miles, for £11350. MOT history shows 282, 150, 241, 404, 410, 406, 448, 391, 491, 683 miles between certifications. It is interesting with the issues that people have had with little use during the pandemic. One wonders if the owner used a trickle charger? Be intersting to see the pictures of condition! I imagine new tyres could be needed?
  13. I bought a fiesta a couple of years ago. I was offered GAP insurance by the dealer for £400. My offer of £200 for the insurance was immediately accepted! I later found that I had still paid over the odds! As with all insurance it is only worth insuring for catastrophe as the companies need to make a profit and overall you are unlikely to recoup your costs.
  14. Hi, after a lot of research I have a UX Takumi. Spare tyre can fit under the boot floor, but it is not compatible with the underfloor storage tray, so that would have to go. Cost of space saver is £160 and. With all bits of foam etc would be £500 from the dealer fitted. Car has run-flats which give a good ride - not sure if all have this. I am unsure if a full size wheel would fit in there. Our headling is black, not sure about others. Big sat nav will be with higher spec ones, download the spec sheets and it should be listed. Not sure about mirrors. According to customer services who I asked on 18/6/20, they were not aware of any UX in whom cat was stolen. This May of course have changed, but looking at the parts diagrams, the Main cat is attached to the exhaust manifold and is pretty inaccessible. if you have the car serviced by Lexus a 2 year warranty, with free European AA cover and free mot is £495, so £250 a year, until, potentially it is 12 years old. apart from the teeny boot and back seat space it is a great car. Having heated ventilated memory seats, sunroof and heated steering wheel in Takumi is great.
  15. Price has now dropped to 22950, from original 29950 in October 2020. I imagine sales are slow with lockdown. On autotrader one can see the date the car was first listed by emailing a link to the advert. This GS450h with 158k miles has been for sale for 2 1/2 years! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/201810312007683?atmobcid=soc3
  16. Nottingham Inchcape currently has 20% off three year service plans. No membership of clubs etc. I imagine the other branches will do the same. Have enrolled the UX. Bargain.
  17. I have just rung the Warranty Company as I could not find details of the refund process. If the extended warranty has not been claimed on, then a pro-rata refund of the remaining warranty can be claimed. Great product.
  18. The numbers registered by colour are available on this site; https://carcolours.co.uk/search/vehicle/GS300_SPORT_AUTO/ Appears there were 28 red ones? Really useful for reference when looking for relatively rare models.
  19. Looking at the Lexus Extended Warranty paperwork and mileage: “Eligible Vehicles In order to be eligible for LexusCare Extended Warranty your vehicle must be a Lexus vehicle, and must be less than 10 years old (from the date of first registration) with less than 140,000 miles at the start of the warranty. If you are renewing an existing LexusCare Extended Warranty and providing there is no lapse in cover between the warranty being renewed and the new one, then the mileage limitation of 140,000 miles is waived. Vehicles with more than 140,000 miles at the end of the 3 years / 60,000 miles manufacturer’s warranty are not eligible.” I would read this as saying that if your Lexus has more than 140000 miles and a current extended warranty one can continue renewing it until it is 10 years old. Please does anyone have experience of this? Are there issues in claiming on the warranty for a very high mileage car?
  20. Hi, in June 2020 I emailed Lexus Customer Services and was told that Lexus UK were unaware of any thefts of Catalytic Converters from Lexus GS and UX cars. I was reassured and bought a UX. I think that the major Cat in the UX is directly attached to the exhaust manifold and pretty innaccessible.
  21. Autotrader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202009173855232?atmobcid=soc3 76k miles, 2017 f sport gs450h Just thought interesting that price can drop by £5.5k
