  1. How many left.co.uk lists 214 registered in uk. gs300h premier, f sport, gs450h premier, f sport, or luxury each have about that number registered to give an indication of availability.
  2. You should be able to get at least a 10% discount if the plan is taken out to only use the local dealer, not a nationwide plan.
  3. In my mk4 premier the seat base goes up and down by 6cm. The sunroof aperture rim is directly above my head, so to make use of its 5cm additional head space would mean leaning over a bit.
  4. I would be careful to buy the correct speed rating of tyre. When I bought my GS450h I asked the dealer to put on new cross climates as tyres needed replacing. 9 months later I found that H (130mph) rated ones had been fitted not the Y (186mph) ones Lexus specified. I contacted my insurer who said that I was not insured as the tyres weren't the correct spec. I replaced with Y rated ones after negotiating a proportional contribution from the dealer I bought the car from.
  5. I bought a 6 year service plan at 10% discount (can only use my local dealer, no discount if national plan) paid monthly so prices won't go up. Lady who does the service plans at dealer said a lot of people are now taking this length of plan up, now they know it is available. Rang the people who run the plans and they said for almost new cars you can get a plan for 10 years, which could save loads in the future, with inflation at 10%. I can't see why an older car wouldn't be provided with a service plan as they will make loads more than with the now withdrawn essential service.
  6. The cylinder thing is part of the air con system I think. The thermostat by the water pump shouldn't affect the car heater, unless it were open all the time and the car didn't warm up (very unlikely.) The heater isn't working due to either/and; A vapour/air lock in the heater as the water has been drained from it, there should be advice somewhere in the forums as to how to fix this. The air con system being drained of air on fluid,it may need recharging, but this shouldn't stop the heater I imagine.
  7. Comparing the 2012 and 2014 uk catalogues, the 2014 model has: Head up Display Rear cross traffic alert there may be leather around the gear stick. The 2016 update has many more improvements, but few were sold.
  8. Cost if part needed, presumably 45900-30070 from amayama Japan (used by some on this forum) is £2149.73 plus shipping. Not sure about taxes etc
  9. Looking at the 2017 catalogue, only the 28 facelift gs450h has 4 wheel steering system, however the gs300h does not. looking at how many left website, f sport gs cars not taxed or on SORN, so potential donor cars for parts if not burnt/exported etc, approx figures are; gs250 56/281, gs450h 44/283 gs300h 21/153 121 cars of the 717 registered were not on SORN (17) or taxed in 2021. Potentially parts may be somewhere.
  10. This is a long shot, but it appears from this trail; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-4th-gen-2013-2020/975640-malfunction-issues-after-lowering-car.html That the car needs the rear wheels lifted off the ground for calibration to be done. As far as I can see only GS f-sport and LC have dynamic rear steering and so there is a vague possibility of the dealer not following correct procedure, if No experience and/or Techstream/Lexus procedures not followed?

  12. I already had a three year service plan on both of my Lexus. I have prolonged this to six years. it is fixed at todays prices, 10% discount, payable monthly over 5.5 years interest free, but must be serviced at Nottingham. (No 10% discount given iffor national servicing.) If car is sold Money in plan can be transferred to another Lexus service plan or withdrawn for moderate charge. With current and future inflation This should save a bit.
  13. Having bought a 2013 Gs450h a couple of years ago, for the last 18 months I have been looking for a facelift model, with sunroof and light interior, preferably in blue. In the last 18 months 22 facelift GS450h ( of the 77 imported) have appeared, 5 with sunroofs. Recently one popped up on autotrader, I rang the number, but the vendor had just sold it to Lexus Stoke. I rang Lexus Stoke and put a deposit on the car which had yet to arrive there. New tyres (cross-climates at my request,) and new windscreen were fitted (original had defect,) and car delivered after inspection and test drive. My previous car is now on their fore-court. (Ensure the 100k service is performed before buying.) The only warranty work recorded on new car was a clip on a rear sun blind! New car is great, it is blue, ivory interior and registered May 2018, so one of the last ones, as in April 2018 Lexus announced the ceasing of GS imports. It has all available extras; metallic paint, protection pack, 19” wheels, sunroof and tow-bar (unused.) I will post pictures later. I have listed the differences between the pre and post face-lift cars. Face lift has the Lexus Safety System + - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - Pre-Crash Safety system (PCS) - Lane Keep Assist (LKA) - Sway Warning - Traffic Signal Recognition (TSR) - Automatic High Beam system Facelift has Blind spot BSM and rear cross traffic alert RCTA, Pre-face-lift only has Blind spot indicator. Head-up display. Great feature. This became available in around 2015 in the GS as I think an optional extra. It is standard in the facelift. Headlights. Facelift has 3 Eye LED headlamps with AHS (Adaptive High-beam System) Pre face lift has headlights that point toward direction of steering, but do not blank out light to other road users on full beam. Interior. Facelift analogue clock is automatically set by GPS or similar which is handy whereas pre-facelift car is manually set. Main display is split screen so two different items may be displayed, Sat Nav is updated, though there appears to be no speed limit display or recognition on the sat nav that I can find. Steering wheel display is much more comprehensive, the LSS+ features can be set here. Heated steering wheel with wood rim in facelift, compared with full leather no heating in older car. Display controls in front of armrest are more comprehensive and better. Rear camera picture quality is markedly improved in facelift. Seat patterns are slightly different but the seats feel and adjust the same. In the facelift I have set the seat heating so it come on when the car starts and stays on at 3 bars, features I could not do in previous car. Driving; comparing a 25k newer car with a 80k older car. The steering on the facelift is much more direct and not at all vague. The suspension is much better, with fewer crashes in potholes and none of the very slight swaying in older car. I would have thought the engine and transmission are pretty much identical, and the consumption figures so far a very similar (about 40mpg in summer.) Drive mode for facelift includes the ‘customise’ setting where you can specify desired throttle response, suspension and eco/normal aircon settings. I was worried that the ride would be harsh on the 19” wheels compared to the older car’s 18” wheels, but it is fine. Overall the facelift is a better car due to the improved steering, suspension, LSS+ features and displays. The numbers of GS450h registered and their colours are listed below (I know there has been debate over accuracy of these type of figures.) Black 2016 6 2017 4 2018 3 Blue 2016 8 2017 3 2018 7 Brown 2016 1 Grey 2016 5 2017 2 2018 1 Red 2016 7 2017 6 Silver 2016 5 2017 4 2018 10 White 2016 4 2017 1 77 total (number sold since feb 20.) 2016 36 (10) 2017 20 (7) 2018 21 (6) Total. 14. according to this link to lexus essential servicing, https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/lexus-essential-care/#hero front/rear discs and pads should be £620 total at lexus. I hope this link is up to date.
  15. My 2013 GS windscreen is being replaced today by National Windscreens. 3.5 week wait for windscreen. It was ordered from my local Lexus dealer by NW.
  16. The Lexus UK magazine issue of June 1 introduces Lexus Relax; https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-warranty-how-lexus-relax-cover-works/comment-page-1/#comments In the feature it states- “This new Lexus warranty covers the same parts and labour as the three-year manufacturer’s warranty provided on new Lexus vehicles and the one-year manufacturer warranty that’s standard with approved used vehicles. It does not include wear and tear items, bodywork, paint, interior trims and maintenance parts.” there is a link to the T&C.
  17. I use a broker in Bristol. Ashley Rodwell 0117 960 4101. Co-incidentally, 10 minutes ago I had a text from my friend thanking me for the reccomendation, his wife's renewal was £720, AR could do it for £328. If you use a broker then hopefully they should be batting on your side as their customer, rather than if you deal with a comparison site or deal direct with eg Tesco. I have no connection with the company other than having used them for 20 years.
  18. Audi have introduced Audi all-in, a package where you buy 2 years service and get free warranty, MoT, Roadside assistance. Eligibility is car 3-6 yrs old and less than 100k miles at start of contract. Warranty on superficial inspection appears more comprehensive than Lexus one, however it may need to be with VAG cars! https://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/audiadaptive/Campaign-Pages/all-in/VWFS_11521995_All-in_Driver_guide_Audi.pdf
  19. I bought my Gs450h from Lexus Liverpool and paid for all of it with a credit card giving 0.5%cash back. Unfortunately they would not accept American Express, which gives 1.25%.
  20. The latest Lexus Select used car warranty excludes the 12v battery. However on Listers website and other places there is reference to presumably, the previous, pre-relax warranty. “All Approved Pre-Owned Lexus come with a comprehensive one year Lexus warranty with unlimited mileage cover. This even includes wear and tear cover for batteries, exhausts and wiper blades for three months or 3,000 miles (whichever is sooner).” It may be worthwhile looking at warranty wording if it is within 3 months of buying car. Hope this is helpful.
  21. My UX was in having a new radio (£2.5k) - which would not be covered under Lexus Relax. I anticipated there might be a change in warranties so rang the dealer last week to buy an extended warranty (and possibly as many as I could, as will keep it for a long time.) I was told the person dealing with them was off and please ring back after the bank holiday! I was gutted on Tuesday with the change in warranties. As for a UX the real cost allowing for AA and MoT is £50 per annum.
  22. Twas Stan Laurel in County Hospital.
  23. “I’ve brought you some hard boiled eggs and some nuts.”
