There were I think 24 fsport and 77 premier phase4 facelift GS450h imported. They come up for sale rarely. In last 12 months I have seen 2 premiers for sale, in the 12 months before that, 11 premiers. I would put a refundable deposit on it and arrange to test drive the car and an ES. It may be 7 years old but if serviced at lexus you can buy a warranty (if you think you need one) from age 10-15 years. I think the last fsport was sold within hours.

Looking into this, the 5.2 sec time was claimed by Lexus in USA at launch for the phase 3 car. It is a 0-60 time, European times are 0-100kph so 0-62mph. I couldn’t see any testers who had equalled or improved the 5.2 time. to get the best time I believe you need to fully charge the traction battery.

There were only 78 GS450h series 4 facelifts registered in UK. One appeared at Lexus Sheffield on autotrader on 1 March, on 2 march when I noticed it it was reserved.

I have a phase 4 facelift GS450h Premier, and previously had a pre-face lift GS450h Premier. The premier and f sport GS450h have larger front disc brakes and 17” wheels will not fit. I am unsure about the GS300h. The Newer car has 19” wheels, the ride is OK, but the tyres and wheels are more likely to be damaged by kerbs and bumps I think. The facelift drives and rides better than the previous model. I would get the facelift if you can. My notes are below: I have listed the differences between the pre and post face-lift premier cars. Face lift has the Lexus Safety System + LSS+ - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - Pre-Crash Safety system (PCS) - Lane Keep Assist (LKA) - Sway Warning - Traffic Signal Recognition (TSR) - Automatic High Beam system Facelift has Blind spot BSM and rear cross traffic alert RCTA, Pre-face-lift only has Blind spot indicator. Head-up display. This became available in around 2015 in the GS as I think an optional extra. It is standard in the facelift. Headlights. Facelift has 3 Eye LED headlamps with AHS (Adaptive High-beam System) Pre face lift has headlights that point toward direction of steering, but do not blank out light to other road users on full beam. Interior. Facelift analogue clock is automatically set by GPS or similar which is handy whereas pre-facelift car is manually set. Main display is split screen so two different items may be displayed, Sat Nav is updated, though there appears to be no speed limit display or recognition on the sat nav that I can find. Steering wheel display is much more comprehensive, the LSS+ features can be set here. Heated steering wheel with wood rim in facelift, compared with full leather no heating in older car. Display controls in front of armrest are more comprehensive and better. Rear camera picture quality is markedly improved in facelift. Seat patterns are slightly different but the seats feel and adjust the same. In the facelift I have set the seat heating so it come on when the car starts and stays on at 3 bars, features I could not do in previous car. Driving; comparing a 25k newer car with a 80k older car. The steering on the facelift is much more direct and not at all vague. The suspension is much better, with fewer crashes in potholes and none of the very slight swaying in older car. I would have thought the engine and transmission are pretty much identical, and the consumption figures so far a very similar (about 40mpg in summer.) Drive mode for facelift includes the ‘customise’ setting where you can specify desired throttle response, suspension and eco/normal aircon settings. I was worried that the ride would be harsh on the 19” wheels compared to the older car’s 18” wheels, but it is fine. Overall the facelift is a better car due to the improved steering, suspension, LSS+ features and displays.

Hopefully someone else will come along with pricing for the items. If they need doing in the future I imagine they will be an awful lot. The car is easy to find on auto trader, the previous mot history has only shown a headlight aiming issue previously. So the mot inspection may have been by a very over enthusiastic tester, but it may not. If the car was serviced by Lexus within the last 12 months/10k miles it should have a Relax warranty until the next service. Ring a Lexus dealer, preferably the one it was last serviced in and confirm what has been done to the car and if it is covered by the relax warranty. Before you ring, find the posts about the 10 year+ warranty and discuss it with them if needs be, (they may not be aware about it. )If the car is serviced at Lexus before it is 10 years old, it should get a year relax warranty. The relax warranty is with Lexus. I would arrange for you to take it to a Lexus dealer for an inspection of the mot advisories to get an opinion on them, or second choice, to an independent garage that you trust. I would be wary of believing what you are told by a dealer. As well as any warranty, you also have protection under the sale of goods act. Pay for some or all of the car with a credit card to give you Section 75. I think it is the newer RX models that are currently being stolen. The cost of insurance may well go up in the future.

Gs450h 2018, in 32k miles in 2 1/2 years, I have had 2 issues, rear brake calliper seizing (replacement covered by relax.) Tyre valve leaking, not covered £149.

Drove the car briefly today and the yellow light went away. Thank you for the advice. Interesting that the facelift has these small non visible differences.

My 2018 GS450h has a yellow tyre pressure light on, despite me correcting the pressure. I have looked all over under the dashboard on drivers and passengers side and cannot see a reset button. The Lexus manual download site won't work for my ipad/phone to check this item. Please could anyone confirm the site of the button? Or send a picture of its site? It would be strange for the facelift to have this changed from the standard phase 4, but it may be different? Thank you for any help.

Comparing yearly registrations to numbers on Autotrader, the %age for sale is around 2017 5% 2018 4% 2019 4% 2020 5% 2021 7% 2022 6% 2023 15% Unsure if 4-5% is low high or normal for that sort of car?

It is good idea to fix thick carpet to any parts of the wall the car may touch, to reduce chance of scratches

Swindon Lexus have an F Sport GS450h gen4 facelift for sale. There were only 24 of these imported (and 77 Premiers.) There has not been a Premier available on sale for the last 6 months. If someone has been considering this model it may be a long wait before another appears.

When Lexus Relax launched, on Lexus Magazine there were many questions asked about the cover. I recall one question was from a GSF owner who asked whether all or some of their shock absorber was covered. The response was that if the failure was due to the rubber components it would not be covered as considered wear and tear. If the failure was due to electrical components it would be covered. the article has disappeared from the Lexus magazine site, however I imagine Lexus may provide a copy of the article, or I imagine it could be found using one of the internet devices that crawls round the internet and periodically stores copies of nearly all websites

If you have two sets of no claims, and one car, if the no claims bonus (NCB) disappears two years after a policy finishes. One may maintain both NCBs by alternating which NCB one uses to support each years car policy.

Service plans should be available for up to ten years depending on age of car. cost of services is fixed at current price, pay monthly and potentially save a load.

It could be auto levelling headlight problem, with lowered suspension. your car may be fitted with this. See this thread:

front discs for phase4 premier/fsport are larger size, made of alloy and steel and no alternative to genuine parts is available. During major service at Inchcape Nottingham front/rear discs and pads replaced on my gs450h premier. Cost was £415/£375 for front/rear. list price for discs and pads is I think £875/£308, lexuspartsdirect do 30% off so about £618/£221 for front/rear. On booking I did point out that it had larger than standard front brakes, but was told this was a fixed price. I am unsure if this fixed price is for Inchcape or Lexus UK. if anyone is likely to need their front brakes replacing in the near future, this is a real deal. I am not aware if these discs are fitted to other models

Thank you for the great information. The lack of Carplay in lexus cars pre about 2019 is an issue. I have a phase4 GS I was wondering if you could help with a few questions, the information online is not comprehensive and some similar units also have a wired carplay connection. You seem to have looked at many different screens and come up with your optimum choice. Would it be possible to comment on the others. How much does the unit weigh please? it may be possible to fix it over the clock/vents on my car, using a couple of brodit dash fixations. I asked amazon and was told the unit weighed the same as an iphone? I imagine it weighs a bit more? On a telephone call, is there a microphone on the unit, or is the car microphone (or telephone) unit used? is the outgoing sound on a call OK? during the call, does the sound come from the car speakers, if it is transmitted via the unit to the car via aux/fm and so, maybe degraded? Is there any bluetooth connection between the unit and the car? Is there any temporary/ permenant bluetooth connection between the unit and the car? Thank you for your help with this.

Boot space is pretty good, in the phase4 GS450h (the car in consideration,) it is 450litres. However in the previous phase3 gs450h it is 280litres.

Attached should be the uk GS 2012 brochure. I think the 3.5inch screen is the small one in front of the steering wheel. In the brochure are what I think are 2 sizes of main screen, 12.3 and 8 inch. lexus-gs-brochure-2012-uk.pdf

The f-sport/premier version in the Uk have the 12.3 inch screen, they also have larger front disc brakes, these list at £875 for the disc and pads, it would be wise to check the front brakes for wear.
