  1. Well just been off the phone to Lexus Birmingham. Didn't get a call back from Lexus Wolverhampton, so called them back myself. Fiona from servicing at the Birmingham dealership told me that they only got official price guidance from Toyota/Lexus on 1st May 2021. Agreed she will refund me the £45.00 difference via filling up the CT with petrol when I require so. Happy with that! Cheers LOC
  2. This saga continues Paul.... .... just called another dealer Lexus Wolverhampton (also part of Steven Eagell franchise like Lexus Birmingham). Lizzy at the service desk there told me that the price for CT200h Catloc is £250 all in. There was a price increase from Toyota GB on 1st May this year. Lexus Wolves are still charging the £250. She's looked at my record via my reg, has seen that I paid £295 back in February this year. I'm now awaiting a call back from the Service Manager Tom @ Lexus Wolverhampton....
  3. Mmm! Yesss especially a Dickinson & Morris pork pie! ☺️
  4. Very true! They get everywhere! However number one vice at a bakery is a nice hot sausage roll! Just can't help it! 😋
  5. I'm more of an Eccles cake fan mate! 🤣🤣
  6. Right folks! So telephoned Lexus Birmingham bang on 08:30am! Spoke to Beth in parts (Toyota/Lexus). She stated that latest price was £310 for a Catloc for CT200h. I told her that on the Lexus UK blog in June 2020 states price inc fitting £250. I told her I was charged £295 back in February this year. I told her that on this forum many owners are paying £250, but that there are also some dealerships charging more - why? She stated that on her link to Lexus UK that was the latest price and that £250 was from last year but since there has been at least two increases. She said she was going to pass my enquiry further and get the dealership head to contact Lexus UK HQ - to make sure the blog / magazine has updated information and gives this in a timely manner to Lexus CT owners...
  7. Gotta Colin! Yes will definitely be ringing the dealership Monday morning to enquire! Sorry re-reading it again yes defo £250 all in!
  8. Thanks for that Colin 👍🏼 Way I read it/understand Shafiq is cost of part alone from directly Lexus dealership is £250 Inc VAT but excluding fitting/labour. As the person who asked the question wanted to know the item costs only. This is my understanding though I maybe wrong! 🤔
  9. Hi Colin If possible could you paste a link to the above lexus blog please? I'll ring my local dealership Lexus Birmingham first thing Monday to check on this... Many thanks 👍🏼
  10. To be honest Shafiq I didn't know there was a fix price offered by Lexus at £250! I rung Lexus Birmingham (run by Steven Eagell Group) to book it in. On the 18th Feb had it fitted. They quoted £295 on the phone. Molly at the Service Desk dealt with it. Looking at my receipt: Labour £71.66, Catloc £174.17, VAT@ 20% £49.17 in total made up the £295. Any ideas when the fixed pricing came into affect mate cheers?! 👍🏾
  11. I'd go along with the recommendation of getting a professional paint shop/body repair/detailer looking at it. Unless you have the full tools and equipment at home. Good luck mate 👍🏽.
  12. Just signed the petition. For the piece of mind the £295 I paid at Lexus Birmingham for the Catloc was money well spent. Also I'd recommend a DNA kit for marking car parts. SelectaDNA is endorsed by all the police forces here in the UK. The next thing I'm thinking of doing to the CT is looking into anti theft number plates. Just to be extra secure... any ideas / recommendations guys?
  13. I would definitely get a Catloc fitted and also have a dna marking kit applied eg SelectaDNA is a cost effective option and Police approved. The second thing I'd do is look forward to build quality and reliability levels that German rivals cannot always replicate. Have fun and welcome to the LOC and Lexus family!
  14. Hi Norman, I've been to Lexus Birmingham today to get my Catloc fitted to the CT (mentioned in another post). Molly still works there at the Servicing Dept. She has been there since the previous franchise owners Vantage. She has always been spot on and quick to sort out any queries. Possibly maybe worth a shot calling and asking for her help?🤞🏽 Good luck Kish
  15. Getting a Catloc fitted by my local Lexus Dealership at The Fort in Birmingham next week on the 18th. Feel the extra reassurance is worth the £295 charge. Better than the hassle of waiting for parts and higher cost of cat replacement/engine repair. Always garage the car, but worried if ever parking in a public carpark or road, one day it might happen. I'd also recommend getting a DNA marker kit and registration pack for more deterance. Mine is by SelectaDNA.
  16. I had the usual "you can wash and dry my car after if you like mate!" from my neighbour. I can't believe he lets it go at least 4-6mths before he washes his ! Whereas I always aim for a max of 4 weeks between washes.
  17. washed and dried the car today. Heres some pics - sorry if not so clear
  18. Hi I'm aiming to take some pics after I properly wash the car next time. Prewash with snowfoam rinse contact wash then dry with my new detailing toy! Just got to wait for weather 🤞🏽
  19. * - I did this review on the 30th December 2020 - but accidentially placed it in the wrong forum. So I thought I'd place it again but this time in the correct one! Well as mentioned before here's a "review" on the above car dryer. Firstly, as a few other members have mentioned before, IODETAIL service was very good! From the speed of ordering online to payment and then delivery, all processes were great and effortless. Got regular updates along the way and a lovely thank you email from Victoria at IODETAIL. I was eager to get this out of the box so earlier this morning gave it a go! With the weather still not the best here in Birmingham, as it was going to be dry today but only about 2-3 degrees centigrade I opted for just a quick contactless wash and dry. Snow-foamed the car with some Autoglym Polar Blast and let dwell for around ten minutes than based away with the pressure washer. The dryer is well packaged, good construction, easy to setup and comes with 3 different shaped nozzles. Its not too heavy to use to be fair - I'd say only slightly heavier than a normal hairdryer (based on looking at the wife's one)!!! 🤣 It was very easy to use and was well impressed with how the water beaded off and flowed away. It has two power settings and I had it on the highest especially with the cold air weather right now. Warm air came out and I could see the water drying off in front of me. I've read online folk saying you can't do a whole car with a held held dryer. I would say you can! I can certainly do a CT with mine!!! Its not a quick way to dry your beloved motor thats true, but for a way that limits contact with the paint as much as possible it's a worthwhile addition to your home detailing gear. Mine has been ceramic coated with Gtechniq C1 and EXO and I'd say if you have some LSP on your paint thats hydrophobic it will help. £94.99 from IODETAIL seems a fair price too. Looking forward to using them again when I start getting some Bilt Hamber auto form and auto wash shampoo sometime next year. Just need to finish off my current Halfords shampoo and the Polar Blast, before converting to the legendary Bilt Hamber! Never done a product review before so hope this is useful to fellow Lexus owners! 🤞🏽👍🏽 Cheers! Kish
  20. I'd say it is no louder than a vacuum cleaner on a high power setting. Although I have read some comment on the loudness, I thought it wasn't too bad.

  22. Hi Rob Hope the dealership experience was good? As I've said here before, really impressed with Lexus Birmingham so far. I like the Silver paintwork on yours very shark like indeed!! Mines Velvet Black. Shows up the bad stuff like anything but late summer this year had it all corrected and the ceramic coating applied at a nearby specialist, so feel a lot happier! Going that extra mile on washing and drying to try and keep it good 🤞🏽 I've just ordered a BLO dryer from IODETAIL so should arrive later today. As soon as I use it I'll put some comments to share with the LOC!👍🏽 Kish
  23. Hi Rob, Did you get your CT from Lexus Birmingham, next to Fort Dunlop? That's where we got ours last year. Beading looks very very nice!👍🏾 I had mine ceramic coated with Gtechniq EXO and C1 Crystal Lacquer and it's nice to see the water bead and run off so smoothly. Makes washing and drying easy too!👍🏾 Kish
  24. I also use Lexus Birmingham (formally Vantage group and now as Poundy said part of Steven Eagell group). Had my Ct200h 1.8 Executive second hand since July 2019 on a 66 plate. Have a service plan covering 4 yrs for service and MOT for just under £30 a month. Really helpful staff in every department. Always made to feel welcome. Feel reassured when have any questions.
  25. Welcome to the LOC Gavin! I too was a previous VAG customer for over 17 years. After terrible customer service I finally went over to Lexus summer last year and love the CT! You will definitely be happy with this brand. My local dealer Lexus Birmingham is fantastic! Well done on making the move 👍
