  1. I'd be interested too, to find out for my CT when the time comes to replace the front pair when one goes out!
  2. That would of hurt your wallet and your pride! It has been useful once for me also. One morning I accidentally selected reverse whilst still in the garage! Luckily avoided the metal racking between bumper and wall because of the "audio assistance!" As a failsafe now I have installed bricks behind the rear wheels. I think of them as my cheap version of chocks. Being a military aviation fan!! 😆 😂
  3. Nope tbf! It was annoying! Nice not to hear it anymore!
  4. Went to my local dealership Lexus Birmingham today. Asked for the annoying pinging sound to be removed when selecting reverse. Took them 10mins or so. Had a free coffee and yummy biscuits as usual! All done. Now only one initial ping when selecting reverse. All done for free! Plus sat in a LC500h. Dreamt a bit of what driving one would be like but then the wife saw the price!!!
  5. No probs mate 👍🏽. Just have the above guidance ready to hand in case the dealership doesn't budge!
  6. I may be wrong here. Seems strange that it may fail the MOT because of the warning message on the multi-functioning display panel on the bottom right hand corner of the dash. Even though all is working fine? I'm not a mechanic nor a registered qualified MOT tester. However, I've just looked on the GOV website searched under the words "mot." Found this.... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles/3-visibility I know it's strange at 05:40am to do this. But couldn't sleep so I thought "mmm 🤔 let's see about this. Us LOC members need to help each other where we can! " As you do! This may help to have, so your ready and armed when you take it back to Lexus to get the MOT done? 👍🏽
  7. Hi Stewart, Welcome to the LOC! Agree with John above. That is a really helpful Lexus Dealership there! Good example of great customer service. Fingers crossed during your years of happy CT ownership, they will be there for you and continue on their good start so far.....🤞🏼
  8. I like the idea of the garden sprinkler to hose under the car. I don't have a level driveway unfortunately so difficult to even slightly raise the vehicle. I've also seen on the Forensic Detailing Channel on YouTube, John there also recommend if you have a Karcher jet wash K series to use their patio cleaner attachment and flip it upside down under the car! 👍🏽
  9. The above from Toyota /Lexus will get the actual catalytic converter marked. Getting an official Catloc through your local Lexus dealership will include the Catloc itself being marked and then guidance to get that registered through the ISR (International Security Register). SelectaDNA kits allow you to yourself mark various parts of your own car and then use the included guide to register your vehicle. SelectaDNA also have other kits available for home items, bikes etc. There are other different kits available out there. If it wasn't for the Lexus Owners Club, I would never have been aware about the catalytic converter thefts out there. Therefore there's lots of options for fellow LOC members!
  10. The kit is endorsed by West Midlands police and other forces. Called SelectaDNA. The kit contains a bottle with special liquid that you can apply with a cotton bud type applicator supplied. The liquid is impregnated with a special code. That code is unique. Mark with the liquid places like hinges, catches, door shuts, panels, parts in the engine bay etc. It also has window stickers and stickers to put inside places like the engine bay, the boot and door pillars. An etching kit is supplied to stick a warning onto each window. Then like with the Catloc, there's a register to enter your kit details. So if unfortunately you find one day after parking your pride and joy that a few parts have gone missing and it's been scavenged. The police can use the register to try and trace. Then hopefully having it marked will be a deterant. https://www.selectadna.co.uk/dna-asset-marking/SelectaDNA-vehicle-kit I also registered on the website WMNow. Which is via the police to keep you aware of crime activity that may impact your local area https://www.wmnow.co.uk/ I heard about SelectaDNA through this community website and at the time had a half price offer to purchase the kit. Hope it helps. But also for any other fellow LOC members elsewhere in the UK to protect your possessions 👍🏽. We all work hard to try and afford the best possible. The scum that want to steal and get things the easy way. We just need to make life difficult for them.
  11. The extra piece of mind it will give you when your parked up will be well worth it. Your in the Midlands, was it at a Lexus dealership? Lexus Birmingham did mine. Also as I've mentioned in previous posts. Try and get your car DNA marked for extra piece of mind👍🏽
  12. I might try that too John on my display screen! I've used my cleaner on CDs successfully in the past. Worth a shot!
  13. I'm another fan of Gtechniq products! Got my CT200h coated with their C1 and EXO on top. I also have their C2v3 to spritz over as a drying aid and top up. Their glass cleaner is a good piece of kit too. All from IODETAIL website as recommended by other LOC members!
  14. Hi LenT I had a similar concern and especially resonate with your final paragraph.
  15. Hi Huw, We have separate Garmin satnav for long trips. It has built in lifetime updates included. Ours is a 2016 Ct200h. The Satnav built in has been OK for local trips but anything further then it's the Garmin. Far more up to date 👍🏽
  16. Hi John, Have you checked at your nearest Lexus Dealer to see how much they would charge for a genuine Catloc to be fitted and marked? All you then need to do is affix the warning stickers on your driver's and front passenger windows. Then follow the instructions to register on the ISR (International security register). It's all in the pack. I paid £295 initially at Lexus Birmingham for mine. The price had dropped to £250. So the dealership gave me a refund by filling up my car with petrol! Seriously for the piece of mind best to get the dealer to supply & fit. Just shop around for prices around franchise dealers. I think they should all be fairly similar. Its far better than the alternative. 👍🏽
  17. A Lexus Catloc is definitely the way to go for piece of mind! 👍🏽
  18. For battery replacement or anything else that needs replacing my first point of call would be my local dealership Lexus Birmingham. Piece of mind and quality of work plus the warranty would be prime motivators. As a LOC supporter I'd get an extra 10% off from there also! Yes I'd get 15% off at Halfords too. Though firstly my brain would say "Kish ring the guys at the service desk see what they are charging" (Never mind the lovely free coffee and cookie's you get from there!) Yummy 😋!
  19. Only had the car since July 2019. It may be specific to what my dealer had at the time?
  20. Every time its serviced on my 4yr plan.
  21. To be honest Malc I'm not 100% sure on the technical element of this. My guess is to clean the fuel injectors. But guys please tell me if I'm wrong!! All I know is that it's included in the service plan price. On my plan breakdown it itemises this at £15 per treatment. Just thought I'd say petrol-wise I use the local Tesco petrol station-both normal unleaded and sometimes their Momentum Super Unleaded depending on how I feel!
  22. Definately agree with a Lexus Service Plan! I took mine out when purchased my 2016 CT Executive in July 2019 from Lexus Birmingham. 4yr plan includes services x4 (30k/3yr, 40k/4yr, 50k/5yr, 60k/6yr) and x4 MOTs including fuel treatment = £1299.35. After the first two monthly payments which were £116.34, then followed 38x £29.63 mthly DD interest free. I feel it's good value and piece of mind, plus as I have mentioned before Lexus Birmingham have been great so far in all areas! 👍🏽
  23. HI Wayne, welcome to the LOC forum and to many happy years of motoring with your CT! I've had my 2016 Executive model 2yrs 4mths so far. No issues, lovely quiet, safe, secure and comfortable driving. Forget about the negative comments motoring journalists say about the CT - as many other fellow LOC members will agree. Whether it's for the day-to-day city driving or the now-and-again motorway journey, I find the CT is perfect! If you can I'd recommend having a monthly Lexus service plan with your dealership for ease and peace of mind 🙂
  24. Used this one for a while! Agree on the nice smell too! 😂
