  1. Do you say that the cars with factory 16" wheels are running longer than the cars with 17" from factory? Both are here in the ads shown with 3.8/100km.
  2. https://continentaltire.com/tires/extremecontact-dws06-plus is what I will have when needing new.
  3. 215x40-18 would be 12mm longer on the way with each revolution meaning close to nothing and could be the closest you can get tyres to the CT in 18”. Wheels should be 7x18 and might be difficult to get in correct ET and bolt diameter circle. I once had a car homologated with 5x15 front and 7x15 rear. Was driving with 7x15 front and 10x15 rear except yearly when going to get approval for the car so it was street legal. The 17” OEM wheels give a good, firm ride and I am happy with what factory put in our car.
  4. If your CT200 is a 2016 I have seen only 16" and 17" wheels on them here. More competent people must answer the question about stressing the gearbox. I believe it is the same as in all 2016 models and I have 17" on mine from factory. 18" would probably make the ride a bit uncomfortable.
  5. Luck! Nothing but luck. Was searching for info about Lexus CT200H in DuckDuckGo (do not like Google) and found the forum. Here I found answers to items not easy to find in the very cluttered manual. This forum is a must for owners of a Lexus with questions as here is a lot of knowledge to be found.
  6. Downloaded this from UK Lexus web site: CT200h_OM_OM76216E_(EE). Never bothered to read the Spanish. English is my 3rd. language and Spanish is my 7th. So English is what I prefer as I have found no Danish, and I believe I understand most of what is written in English. If we live long enough, we can learn and work with many things, even if we are not geniuses. With regard to the idea of “a user does not need to understand if a cabin is looked over by a microwave or ultrasonic system”, I find that correct, but I think that all matters concerning how to use the alarm should be in one place and not spread around in the manual. Just like many other single items are in the manual. Another thing is that I never knew that microwave would be used detecting movements in a car cabin; have been working with car electronics more than 10 years. Microwaves can be dangerous and should be used for heating things and not human brains. I believe (but do not know) that the radar system in our cars use microwave detection, but that is outside the car and outside cars are many other dangerous things. I do not know if this is a good or bad kit: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Blind-Spot-Monitoring-BSM-Radar-Detection-System-Ultrasonic-Sensor-Assistant-/264365482820 but I know that ultrasonic systems are able to do many things and I believe ultrasonic waves are far less dangerous than microwave rays.
  7. That kind of choice of words is one reason I think they have used Google or another slightly inaccurate electronic translator from Japanese to English.
  8. The handbook is spreading info over so many places that it is not easy to search for one thing and get complete answer to anything. Searching for alarm there is no mentioning of any ultrasonic cabin surveillance. When searching for ultrasonic I get this: Do not get the keys wet or wash them in an ultrasonic washer etc. People who made this manual seems to mention things randomly and when being told they have forgot something they do not place it where it should have been using logic. Or maybe the handbook is translated to English using Google. And info about US is more complete than EU versions (except Nato Germany? Whatever that is) Is there a Germany outside Nato? For vehicles sold in the U.S.A., Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico and NATO Germany *: For U.S. mainland and NATO Germany only The handbook is as bad as the car is good. Luckily it is not necessary to read the handbook to drive the car and like it.
  9. Nothing useful. First car I have ever bothered reading in the handbook. And as expected found nothing in there. Have seen somewhere in this forum that the ultrasonic part can be switched off, but cannot find that in the handbook. Many handbooks are written by people that either know nothing of what they write, and more are written by people that believe the readers of handbooks know what they need to know before reading the handbooks.
  10. Meaning I am using as much fuel as most other users of the 2016 model and more or less the same as most who are driving the car. Always knew that the data from car manufacturer is very much painted in a very favourable way. The Golf 2.0 tdi dsg is the car closest to the data from factory I have used. Supposedly 5L/100km and I used around 6L.
  11. First day with the car I went into a shop, key in my pocket. My wife was in the car. Of course, I did not lock. After a while the alarm started. Expecting that an alarm will only be activated with doors locked, so that is what I thought and still think.
  12. So would I, but living where hills are very much up and down it seems not possible. Satisfied with around 6 litre per 100 km.
  13. Our first Lexus is no disappointment either. Good you like the one you bought too. Sure, you will be happy with the car a long time as our car was bought 4-year-old and run as good as all the cars we have bought new. The gearbox in the CT is also much quieter than many reviews tell and that the CT is not a big car is easily shown, but for people on front seat not taller than 195cm room is excellent; 180cm tall persons go in rear seat as well without problems, so these journalists must be basketball player height or just writing what they have been told to write.
  14. If the key is taken out of the while engine is still running it beeps. If engine is stopped and key is away from the car (different detection range for keys, maybe depending on state of battery in the key) and outside the detection range the car lock and alarm is on. Suppose the interior surveillance is possible to disable, but for us it is not interesting as we have no pets and would definitely never let our little one inside the car while not being there. In my eyes it is good that door locks and alarm is engaged when key is outside detection range, so considering that as a positive for Lexus. May be different to other than the CT200H Luxury 2016 bought in Spain, but have never been in other cars from Lexus. Have had a Supra 3.0 1986, MR2 1988, MR2 Roadster 2003 and none of these had factory alarm. Had to have one installed as a car without alarm is more expensive insured. Lexus is a premium brand in my eyes.
  15. Absolutely. Much closer to consumption of my CT200H. Honest John (of course he is honest, his name is John) is so close to the WLTP that it could be believed he use same testing method. 38 is close to consumption of our car.
  16. So WLTP is the new way of not telling us anything about real-life driving. Still extremely optimistic. But OK. If all cars are being shown with these data at least they are comparable. The fuel consumption data from factories never told the truth. Would also be difficult as we all drive differently. I am not really worried about fuel consumption. Care more about pollution. Cars may not pollute much compared to flying, heating, producing red meat and other food, but the pollution from cars is damaging to general health in really many cities, so even though making electricity is a major polluter most of the pollution is not concentrated in areas where many people live, therefore I find electric cars and hybrids are a step forward.
  17. Happened to me first day in the CT200H. Many cars have different ways they need to be started. My 2005 Smart Roadster Coupe needed key in and press start rather soon after that or it would not start at all before locking car, unlocking again and key in and press start. Sweet little go-kart.
  18. Today I for first time filled with 95 and will do so for the next couple of times to see if there is more energy in the lower Octane fuel than in the 98 or 99 or whatever the fuel is they charge a couple of centimos each litre more for. So far fuel consumption has been 6.2 each 100 kilometre. I do not drive fast. Follow traffic. Nothing more than that. Wonder how 3.8 should be possible. Downhill easily, but to go down you first have to get up. Car is fantastic and not complaining at all, just think Lexus should not tell people 3.8 as this is not when driving normal.
  19. Is this the one we have in the CT200H?
  20. If Lexus not helpfull maybe: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Lexus-Premium-Navigation-Micro-SD-Card-Sat-Nav-13mm-UK-Europe-RUS-MAP-2020-2021/153999615645?epid=12043415326&hash=item23db17a69d:g:hSUAAOSwdRVfBfMJ if you have the 13MM navigation system. Where I live Lexus has terrible service. That is what I'll buy when card needs update.
  21. Just received touch up paint from: https://www.ebay.de/itm/8X9-Aqua-Touch-Up-Paint-for-Lexus-CT200H-NX-SERIES-RC-SPARKLING-METEO-Pen-Stick/233756114171?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Perfect. Lexus here told me not possible to get right colour. They do not want happy customers.
  22. Should be a rather simple software update, but as Lexus only care about the US market it is not going to happen.
  23. Thank you. Saved the link. No updates available but maybe later.
  24. If your car has the 13MM navigation system with micro SD-card in it you can get a 2020-2021 card on eBay for around 40 of your money (£ yes?) (we use € here). I was fooled by the service centre here to buy original for a fortune as I was told that there were several car specific data on the original card coming from Japan and looking at the card it has no such thing on it at all. So next time I want to update my nav. card I get it on eBay.
