  1. Do not like the look of these either. Must be made for parking in garages with too little space for the car. Many garages in older supermarkets were built for Fiat 500.
  2. Like the Prius when needing a taxi. Driving it is not really funny. Have been driving the Auris and it may be the platform for the CT, but if that is true, then suspension, steering system and almost everything else has been modified, not just a little, and the extras that are in the CT (at least the one we have) is making it a completely different car than the Auris I have tried. Only Toyota I have ever really liked were the 2 MR2 cars we have had. The first MR2 (1985) was the better driver’s car when it was made. Go-kart like and fun even though engine could have been a bit stronger. Had a Supra 3.0 at the time (only half a year, too many problems with it, soft and granny-like) changed it to a Nissan ZX, much more fun. The MR2 Roadster was also a nice ride, but more due to having a hardtop to take off and drive around in the hot nights here with fresh air, did put adjustable suspension in it and plus tailormade light wheels 15" and still was not as go-kart like as the first generation. Second generation of the MR2 was a design-failure, did not like the look of it and was never in it. Must try a real Lexus one of these days to see what you mean with that.
  3. Have had AC turned off the last 2 days and from 7.8 consume has come down to 6.7 L / 100 km. In a month or 2 it will be too hot here for not having AC on so I accept the extra in order to be comfortable. Windows and sunroof a bit open have given enough ventilation to make it OK. Have Llumar UV protection in all windows, also in sunroof, and that is reducing heating effect from the sun: https://w3.llumar.com/skinprotection/index.html Funny that no cars have UV protection in other windows than the windshield. MB, Toyota, VW - all the same: 100% protection in windshield and no more than the protection that is in clear glass in any other. We have damaged the protection that naturally was in the atmosphere with our pollution and still no car factory is reacting to protect their customers. Many truckdrivers have skin cancer in the US coming from the left arm that is near the window (if UK had sunshine it would have been in the right arm there 😷) and even though the trucks have AC with pollen filters and all other kind of fine equipment UV protection is something that has to be bought extra.
  4. Lack of intelligent rulers in the countries that have the money to invest in it. Fault is completely ours. We need to elect some with brains.
  5. Politicians do what they do best: try to convince as many as possible that they should be re-elected and thus are never trying to inform (or understand) what they are proposing / recommending.
  6. If gasoline powered cars were to be permitted today, they would probably have a big problem to allow such a dangerous and flammable stuff as gasoline in a moving vehicle with so many electric components that can light the fuel in an accident. Had I been wealthy enough I would not consider any other existing fuel type for our family car than hydrogen when refuelling become easy.
  7. Is service not popping up on a display somewhere? Not that I have seen that on our car. But on Mercedes, Smart and VW it does show Service somewhere so it cannot be missed.
  8. We can still wash our cars. What are you talking about? And I have a portable vacuum cleaner so can tidy it a bit inside too. Fill window washer fluid. Had a VW beetle in 1974. All you needed to fix problems was a screwdriver and a little more. Things have changed.
  9. Not at all. Learning new words here on the forum. Do not care for politics or politicians. Churchill was right.
  10. Do not forget to get a visa. Brexit may be good, and may not. Surely buying from UK on eBay is no longer smooth.
  11. That is what I thought and if somebody (not you) think that I am not happy with the car. Completely wrong. The car I am most happy with. Also loved the Smart Roadster Coupé (go-kart for 2 people), Toyota MR2 cabriolet (almost a go-kart) very old Opel GT (nur fliegen ist schöner), even older MB 300SEL 6.3L (air suspension and org. Würtzelholz (not plastic) inside) complete luxury. Cars I did not like: Toyota Supra 3L with removable roof (engine problems, yellow light, when driving faster than 160 km/h; Toyota could not solve it on a brand-new car), Peugeot 106 Rally (rear ventilation windows closing when driving faster than 30 km/h plus constant different error lamps caused by various ground connections that were not made to a cold climate), old MB 230G off-roader (military vehicle in Denmark) stupid fuses that were disconnecting when driving fast in rough terrain.
  12. + it depends on the hills themselves. As I said in Canary island there are areas with quite steep hills. In other hand - you right if you came-up, you must come down, meaning that particularly in hybrid energy lost going-up can be captured when going down. Hi Linas, CT has no problems climbing, but engine is running (not nearly as noisy as I read in some reviews of the car) and yes when sitting waiting in the car while wife is in a shop (many places accept only one person at the time) I keep AC running. It may be winter, but sun is shining. Still no problem at all. First car I can sit in having decent temperature here while parked. When all 8 bars are full no more room for power in the hybrid battery. When going down longer tours I place gear selector in B. Slows down quite good.
  13. I believe it is due to AC constantly on + audio and especially the hills here. Even in the city there are areas at sea level and areas 300 m above. Engine is running constant when going up and as soon as it goes down again 8 bars in hybrid battery are full and then there is no more space for power in there when braking. If crawling and annoying the other drivers on the road I can get it down to 6 l / 100km. Driving normal it is 7.7 and if going in the mountains 8. And at service less than 1000 km ago I was told that everything is perfect. Maybe if turning off AC and audio it will use a bit less.
  14. 1) Absolutely. That is why I am giving them a 3rd try. 2) Asked about such a plan here and was informed that no such thing exist here. 3) Only specialized companies that do nothing but renew permission to drive our cars are doing this here. No Lexus, no Mercedes, no Toyota, no VW. 4) Would be nice but seems not likely to happen here.
  15. Absolutely. Still Isofix is absolutely better than having the seat and child floating on the seat. Just look at what is written about Isofix on the link. And we all want what is best for our children.
  16. Update. heyner.co.uk could not deliver. The booster seat was sent, but due to Brexit or some other problem; it returned? Now we are waiting for one from Hyundai: http://poledglobal.com/shop_view/?idx=4
  17. Thank you. Just think. Next time you want to come to sunny Spain you are going to need a visa as I would need one if I would go to UK. Politicians are the scum of the earth.
  18. I'll give Lexus here one last chance. Grandmother (GbhS) told me if somebody try to cheat you 3 times never again trust them.
  19. Thank you Norman, Now I have something to show with the service just before the car is 5 years old. October this year. Is it true that if I do not want to service with Lexus/Toyota I can have the hybrid check for 59£ (68 - 69€)? So far I have not been impressed with the knowledge the service people have here on the island. Or driving as little as we do, maybe one yearly service is not so much to pay for hybrid security.

  21. Case closed. They could not deliver. Brexit? Money back. Waiting for this now: From Hyundai: http://poledglobal.com/shop_view/?idx=4
  22. Short runs happen. Long runs too. Cold weather in The Canary Islands is when it is 15 degrees Celsius at night. In the last 15 years there has been snow in 2000 m above sea level less than 15 days. We live sea level. Hard driving? Maybe. I drive as I did before in a Golf 2.0tdi DSG (auromatic) and VW claimed 5 l per 100 km. I did a bit worse: 6 - 6.5 l per 100 km. VW a little optimistic. Lexus a lot more. After all it is not a big engine. CT200H. The cars I had before I do not know anything about how much they consumed or polluted. The CT is better for me as no black smoke is ever coming out behind it. It is quiet and far more comfortable with all the automatic functions it has and the audio is the best I have heard in any car.
  23. Just filled the car again. 33 l 410 km around 8 l each 100 km. Very far from what is shown on the web from Lexus. 3.8 Hope that pollution data are more correct or I am not doing as good for the environment as I thought I would driving a hybrid. Or maybe something is wrong with the car, but less than 1000 km after service where they told me everything is in perfect order. Full tank and 645km is shown:
