  1. well in the netherlands and portugal this is true! only 1 light is allowed. very logic since 2 light are confusing! and yes i did live (with a car(s)) in those countries!
  2. happened to me last night when parking the car. just hit the kurb with my left back wheel. but this moring (in the light) when i inspect the wheel... i saw a nail in my tire! lucky me, upon removal of the nail the tire didn't leak... :)
  3. well if buy an item on ebay... you buy it to buy, not to test drive or look at what problem the car can have... anyway you bought it, so have fun with your new motor!
  4. well went to lexus bristol last saturday morning (feb 12) for a inspection about my problem. they took it out for a test drive and even washed the car! :D excellent service! they were thinking about two possible things, it's either the power steering pump or the steering rack. what i feel is a pulsing movement when turning the steering wheel at some times. did anybody had this kind of problem with his / her is?
  5. about what earlier models (years) are you speaking?
  6. it might be the lower arm balljoint? as you can feel it when you turn the steering wheel to drive through a corner...
  7. count me too, but only in the weekend...
  8. try http://www.i*fi*ity-exhausts.co.uk * -> n
  9. thanks to this optimax, shell made the biggest profit since... read http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4231693.stm
  10. true, mot i don't believe any dealer his word and or mot papers. i want to see and check every thing my self. as i did this morning when they did balance my wheels. yes, the 17 inch is200 se year 2000 wheels. if the weather is ok i will jack the car tomorrow to check the bearings. personaly i think it has some thing to do with the power steering pump... will check the oil level too.
  11. page 200 of the is200 owner's manual, step 7. when installing 17 inch alloy wheels, at this point, remove the center ornament from the flat tire and replace it on the newly installed tire. :P
  12. hi, since 29/01/05 i have my is200 aztec fire and are looking for org lexus floor mats. do you still have them? if so, please price etc. cheers, biton
  13. this morning the next things are being checked: tyre damage, bent wheel, loose wheel nuts (incl special nut), tyre presure. so may be bearing worn( severe)? but that should be checked with the mot? this is just been done (25/01/05).
  14. indeed, the previous owner(s) did do a nice bumpety bumpety with a curb job. the left wheel has a nice swing in it. it's now been adjusted. the vibration at 60 mph is gone but thats not the issue of my vibration i (still) have. i might change it with the spare wheel in the near future. will try to explain the problem it better... i had more or less the same vibrations with a daihatsu charade front wheel drive car with worn cv's. i know the is200 doesn't have front wheel drive, but i hope that you understand the wobbling i feel in the steering wheel at some times. the brake pads are new since the 80k service. the wheels (without the tyre) are spinning fine when you turn them. any idea's?
  15. hi, thanks for that, will try it the first thing in the morning when driving to my work. it might be that because i can feel it when i turn the steering wheel when driving through a corner, like on a roundabout. but i don't feel it when i am braking for a trafficlight...
  16. can it be the tyres? the car has been standing at the dealer for some time.
  17. found it in 2004 when using http://www.excite.com. :) when working in belgium. i needed a new company car so i was starting to look out for a lexus. the company car (volvo s40 td) needed to be replaced. but by the end of the day i wasn't allowed to buy one since whole belgium drives stinking diesels!
  18. just a balance... but do you get this even at low speeds?
  19. hi, just got my is 200 se auto since last saturday and have a question. some times i feel a little steering wheel vibration. this can be even when i drive about 10mph or at any other speed. or even some times when i start driving. so it's not really related to speed. when i test drove the car before i bought it there was some vibration around 60mph. the dealer did checked the wheels and did do a balance of the wheels. can it be the power steering pomp? what i feel is that the steering wheel is going a little from left to right. it's the same kind of feeling you have if your brakedisks are wobbling. but i feel it without using the brakes. the car did 80,000 m and had it's 80k service done. sorry, but i do have some difficulties to explain it better. cheers, biton
  20. lets hope that we don't get to many unemployed people in germany... (history repeat?)
  21. fog lights are for fog only full stop! as colinbarber sad before they are designed to use in the fog. in the olderdays you had those diy fog lights and they are the worst. self adjusted, ufo lights we called them. but anyway in this world were we don't care about others then or self.. yeah, you see many people with fog lights on as fashion...
