  1. Agreed- it's discounted by 4% on Autoebid- £2500 to £3000.
  2. This is very sad news and sincere condolences to you Sarah and your family. I remember the kind and friendly messages that John sent after I'd joined the LOC. He gave helpful advice and guidance to so many and will be very much missed. RIP John.
  3. Hi Bill, same here now. My annual mileage was nearly 25,000 miles for a time, and quite a lot of that was in the dark, or dusk- it was getting quite stressful. The UX has cornering 'matrix' headlights which are superb- I've never had anyone flashing me to 'say' they're too bright and they do make a difference. I remember the headlamps on my Metro's (2 were badged Austin, the last one was a Rover) weren't that great! I wear glasses and also find more cars seem to have misaligned lights in general. For some roads, I'll plan to avoid as much night time driving as possible- just to make things easier.
  4. Hello Kevin, thanks for your latest post. I think there's a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) with a change that's meant to resolve the issue with the Lexus Link App and that's reminded me to speak to Snows about it. From looking at the Speak EV forum, there appear to be other owners of various makes experiencing the same problem with the 12v battery discharging over (too short) a time. Some manufacturers appear to be doing a software update. VW were swapping the 12v batteries on the ID3 and ID4. I wonder if the 2023 UXe will resolve this issue as I don't expect to leave the car in the garage for 4 days then not be able to start it! Thanks for your photos too, the Taycan looks really good in white.
  5. Hello Kevin, thanks for your further post and info. Yes, I think that photo was taken after the car had been cleaned for the first time. I have seen your posts about the Lexus Link App and experienced the same issue, with the battery discharging. The App isn't great really and I don't use it now pending the update- like Rayanns. The 12v aux battery needs trickle charging every few days if I don't drive it. I had the same thing with the previous (another company car), a Toyota Prius Business Edition Plus. I'm not sure if this is a common issue on the UXe but there seem to quite a few references to it with other makes on the Speak EV forums. That's interesting about the car at Exeter. I remember (I think!) seeing a UX300e Takumi in mercury grey on the Snows Lexus ex demo offers page. It was at Exeter and was a great saving from new. I wondered if that was the car you referred to. When I retire, I'd like a 2023 UXe with the increased range although the range I have now is fine. I'd imagine there will be quite a price increase on the new model, even on PCP. I'm fortunate that I got an excellent deal on the car (through a work salary sacrifice scheme) but having experienced my first Lexus I'd like another! The Porsche Taycan seems to get very good reviews like most Porsche models. Did you find it as good as the reviews say.
  6. Hello Kevin, thanks for your reply. I've had the UX300e since last July. I dealt with Snows Lexus at Hedge End who were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, even though it was a company car. They gave me a UX250h for a couple of days so I could ensure the 300e would fit in the garage (that's where the home charger is) which was helpful. I think the Exeter branch you mention is also a Snows dealership. The colour of 'my' car is mercury grey although I liked terrane khaki but as time was pressing, the grey was the quickest for delivery. When we visited Hedge End for the first service, they had an LC500h coupe in the terrane colour and it was unlocked so I was happy to sit in it- the interior and overall quality were superb, but I guess you already know that! I decided to go for a Lexus mainly because of the levels of customer service and the amount of standard equipment. I looked at the Mercedes EQA, Audi Q4 e-tron, VW ID3 and 4 but the overall finish of the Lexus was just better generally I thought. You must be looking forward to your RZ arriving.
  7. Hi Kevin, I must admit to not using the B mode and to date, I'm getting pretty much the estimated range, on 18-inch wheels, and a bit less with the a/c on. You're right about there being some good prices. Just out of interest, last week, I looked through the Lexus used car website and some dealers' sites with a few 21 plate Takumi's for around £38-£39,000, an excellent discount from new. This is both 'my' (company car) first Lexus and EV and it's been great so far. The extra equipment on the Takumi has so been useful, especially the Head Up Display and 360-degree camera, the latter when I'm trying to get the car in the garage! I'm not sure if you've already got a home charger or are thinking of one, but after some research, I got a Hypervolt and so far, it's been very reliable and seems good quality. Good luck in your search for an UXe.
  8. Hi All, This has just been put on the Lexus U.K. media site. I guess the new battery is the same as that on the Toyota BZ4X: Upgrades to the Lexus UX 300e increase all-electric driving range by more than 40 per cent - Lexus Media Site Best wishes, Chris
  9. Many thanks for your reply, Nick. I appreciate that Takumi models seem to have larger alloys as standard but was keen to get the equipment that the model has e.g., the HUD- I suppose you can't have everything! With respect to the servicing, I do appreciate that if there is a Lexus and Toyota dealer nearby, like Barry I also use Hedge End, from a contingency and practical considerations it may make sense to have technicians from one 'brand' working on another. The key thing I think is that the Lexus levels of hospitality and customer service are at the very least maintained- it's been their differentiator between Audi, MB and BMW and has served them very well. This and just going above and beyond with customer service generally. The service from Hedge End has been great- the UXe is a company car through Lex Autolease, but I'd hope every customer gets the same high level of care and attention.
  10. Hi Nick, I would like there to be an option of AVS or 17- inch wheels on the UXe Takumi. This is my first Lexus and it's great but sometimes the ride on the 18-inch wheels is not the smoothest. About the servicing, I agree with the comments about Toyota dealers doing that. Part of the Lexus 'experience' I thought was visiting a dealer and expecting and getting very high levels of customer service. The car is going back later this month to sort out a reoccurring and annoying rattle from the driver's seat belt area. I'd be interested if this problem was something Lexus UK are aware of. The Lexus dealer I use is next to a Toyota one but am presuming the former will be the one to deal with the issue! Best wishes, Chris
  11. Hi All, I asked for clarification on whether the 'leather' was imitation or not on the UXe Takumi and the dealer investigated, went to the same product team and I got the same response as John- that it was fake. I'm still not convinced though as the 2021/22 MY brochure for both the UXh and UXe clearly stated the F-Sport and Takumi had genuine leather! Regards, Chris
  12. Dear All, I saw this on YouTube the other day and thought it may be of interest. It seems very well researched and mentions that Toyota spent something like $1 billion on developing the first LS. The video showed all the models since 1989, including midlife updates. Best wishes, Chris
  13. Hi All, I'd hope they'll be something on the Lexus UK media site in the next few weeks. Expecting it to have the 2023 UXh changes like the larger screen. Possible range increase too- maybe c230miles. Regards, Chris
  14. Hi All, I saw this note about a '2023 refresh' for the UXe on the Lexus website: Lexus UX 300e | Discover The All-Electric SUV | Lexus UK I guess it'll get the changes included on the 2023 model UX hybrid but wondered if they'd do anything to increase the range. Hopefully, I'll be visiting Lexus Hedge End in a couple of weeks and will ask if they have any more information and if they do, I'll let you know. Best wishes, Chris
  15. Hello Andrew, Many thanks for your message and the photos, your car looks great. 'My' (company car) Uxe is the same colour as yours but doesn't have the body coloured wheel arches which look good. The fuel economy is very impressive too. I guess you may have a black interior- I was a little concerned about it being too dark but have got used to it and open the sunroof blind if needed. Best wishes, Chris
  16. Hello Ben, what a nice car, it looks fantastic. I agree about Lexus Hedge End, nothing seems too much trouble.
  17. Hi All, Auto Express have given a very complimentary 4 star review of the UX hybrid. The car they drove had what they refer to as the '2022 update', but I guess the one for the 2023 model year with the new infotainment could improve their opinion further. I thought it was quite refreshing to see a car magazine being so positive about a Lexus! New Lexus UX 250 Takumi 2022 review | Auto Express
  18. Like- almost everything, especially the general level of quality and attention to detail, refinement. I manage to get on ok with the trackpad! Dislike- I agree about the door cards, some different fabric/ textures would be good. The amount of water that's deposited from the tailgate when you open it after rain or the car has been cleaned.
  19. I agree that dealers have had little control over the delays and that timely communication is important. We also got our UXe from Hedge End and are a little disappointed that MH has left as the service he provided was excellent. We asked for an extended test drive, amongst other things to check the car would fit nicely into the garage, and nothing seemed too much trouble. We're hoping the service support for its first 'check' in July is as good.
  20. I found this link, updated yesterday which may be of interest. Purported Lexus BX teased in official presentation (topelectricsuv.com) It would make sense if Lexus had something like a Mercedes A class, BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 competitor, one 'more affordable' than the UX which has increased to £33,500 with the 2023 model year update. It's still not exactly cheap though! Best wishes, Chris
  21. Many thanks Oz. Good to see auto folding mirrors are standard and more models getting blind spot monitoring. Do you know if the 300e will get any spec changes?
  22. Hi Tel, Many thanks for your thoughts. I'd agree about the charging cables. 'My' (company car) is a Takumi, mercury grey with black interior. I needed to make a colour choice quite quickly and although it's a bit dark inside, opening the sunroof blind helps. Yes, it is great to drive and I don't think you feel as if you step up into it like other SUV's. In colder weather the kw/h has been 3.1, when it's warmer, up to 3.8+. I can appreciate how the range may be an issue for some as it's not huge but it's all right for me. Once the cost was ok, it was a balance between a longer range and the dealer customer service if things went awry- that led to Lexus! I guess the 2022 revision may make it look more like the new model NX, (Lexus spelt across the tailgate etc). Longer range would be good but I guess they think the RZ450e would be the option then. The last time I visited our nearest dealer (who supplied and delivered the car) they had some used cars in the showroom, a IS300h and an SC430, both looked like new. Best wishes, Chris
  23. Hope you're pleased with your car Patrick! We also charge to 100% using our home wall box and after nearly a year of ownership have noticed no battery issues. The main factor in shortening battery life (i.e. capacity) is rapid charging, which is why you're safe to charge to 100% using a non-rapid charger, such as a home wall box (or three-pin plug). Even for rapid charging, the charging software on the vast majority of rapid chargers automatically reduces the charge rate above about 80% in order to avoid battery over-heating or too much energy input trying to go into too little available charging "space". So I wouldn't worry about keeping the charge to a maximum of 90%. That said, many home wall boxes (and rapid chargers too) allow you to select a maximum charge, so if you don't need every last mile of available range, you can set the maximum charge to, say, 90%.
  24. I agree with Andrew about more a question of want than need. My previous car a Toyota Prius had equipment that I really liked- blind spot monitoring/ cross traffic alert, auto folding mirrors (you're right about these- they should be standard across the range imo) and a head up display. The Takumi pack was c£70 a month more and with that stuff, the so-slow power tailgate, and three eye 'matrix' headlights I thought it was worth it. Whatever model you go for though, the UXh is a great car.
  25. I've now contacted Lexus customer service and asked if I can sign up to 'Support Talk to Lexus'. I like filling in things like this so hope they can help. They sent me a proper reply with a 'please leave this with us, we'll look into it' within 20 minutes which I thought was impressive.
