  1. This is from the owners manual: One day Bill complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go to a computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor. "Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs $10." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed: You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks." Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction. He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message: "Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins. Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic. Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer. And if you don't stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better."
  2. Another good reason, thanks! Yes, although I was under the impression that electric cars are less sensitive about gradients but thanks for the tech chart, very insightful.
  3. I had the same problem but eventually found it and quite straight forward. On the right of the screen press the music icon, on the bottom left you should see SOURCE, press on that and a list should appear, including DAB ,press on that and you should have it back, good luck!
  4. Great answer, I live in Hampshire at 128 m above sea level, thanks.
  5. If you get more electric milage in warm weather, is that because it can increase the capacity of the battery or because the consumption is lower? Or both? Also a strange thing is that I travel to London quite regularly, on the way there I just get there all in electric (about 49 miles) but on the return journeys I am always about 5/6 miles short. Any ideas why ?
  6. If the car has auto brake back and front, the audible sound may not be necessary?
  7. In reverse it beeps if there is an obstacle and e eventually brakes automatically , if I don't , with a louder sound and a red screen warning. (Same for front obstacles)
  8. I have had an NX450H for 4 months now and I honestly didn't know it has AVAS ,can't hear anything at all from inside and outside unless I have suddenly gone deaf?
  9. Yes quite, sometime we overthink, I thought something like that would be buried in the overcomplicated settings, should have realised, next to the lights? Cheers.
  10. On my 450h above the rear view mirror and next to the SOS button, there is a button that says door, anyone know what is for? I checked on the manual but cannot find any information, thanks!
  11. There seems to be lots of gremlins in the software. I find if you connect your phone with the cable, the Google navigation is better. The Lexus system is always a couple of seconds too late. Went from East Hampshire to Cornwall via a303/a30 with no problem, stopping at the Pig in Combe for lunch and charged the car for free. But a couple of other times had to stop to reprogram as the navigation just stopped.
  12. P.S. Have a look at your hand book, generally I find the software a bit complicated and unreliable, but gradually it becomes more familiar.
  13. Hi Jay, You should have puddle lights under the door mirrors and you can adjust the sound but everything seems to need setting up from the screen, you just need time to go through the options by pressing the icons on the right of the screen. Maximum charging speed is 7.7kw and some chargers are incompatible. Good luck!
  14. Yes,same here. Also many other software issues. Had a recall for the stability control reprogramming, will be going in about 10 days and they will do a software update too to solve all other issues, hope it works.
  15. Maximum acceleration on a NX450H is achieved by combined petrol engine plus electric. What setting should it be in to achieve this? I have tried with a full charge and in sport mode and flooring the accelerator but stayed in electric mode only, but doesn't feel like full acceleration.
  16. If it's any help, the passenger can open their door by pressing the unlock button on their armrest first or by physically pulling the lever twice.
  17. If it's any help I have been told by the dealer that wireless android will be updated over the air towards the end of this year.
  18. Or using a pair of tights for a broken fan belt in an emergency .
  19. Many thanks for the comprehensive reply Harrier Man, obviously the current system is not helpful on longer trips away from home charging, also had many other problems trying to charge on public chargers so very pleased to have gone for an hybrid rather than a fully electric, I still managed around 60 miles x gallon on a mixed trip of around 600 miles, mainly on petrol.
  20. Has anyone else had problems charging on public chargers? I tried a Tesla destination (hotel car park) it fits the type 2 plug in but it does not charge, found a pay by card one but it cost £7.50 same as petrol equivalent!
  21. This is the only one at the moment, will try to have a few more in the next few days.
