  3. Hi. The last time I was out the management light came on and when I got home I got code 172&175 which is both banks running rich. So I pulled a plug out and expected it to be black and it was normal tan colour. So I cleaned the air filter and air flow sensor. Now she's idling @1500 rpm and can't get it down. So wondering if the pressure regulator is sticking. Which used to be easier to find on less complicated engines lol. The lexus has so many valves and solaniods on the engine lol
  4. Can anyone know where the pressure regulator is on my is250? Please
  5. This happened to me and a local welder, welded it back on for £60 and welded the rear mount which was broke off as well. He made a good job of it
  6. Automatics can be towed for short distances . The trouble is the pump that pumps the ATF around the gearbox only runs when the engine is running so can cause damage. Don't know about CTV as I have no experience of these. Being an old school mechanic lol
  7. I think this engine is a BMW engine and was never great. I m not a fan of diesel engines. Only had one in over 40 yrs of driving and hated it
  8. This happened to me and I got a local garage that does welding to weld it for me a new rear part is a fortune to buy
  9. I agree with this too. Then give the runner's and other moving parts a good spray with WD-40 from inside when you get it to tilt even a wee bit
  10. I buy my plugs from local motor factor and no what I'm getting. I don't trust online shopping you never know what you are getting
  11. Classic cars are meant to sound like a car not a washing machine on spin
  12. I'm not. I will be keeping my older bigger engines as long as possible. Hopefully petrol will get cheaper as demand drops as everyone jumps on the electric car bandwagon. Then Ill be able to run a nice big V8. Just like heating oil drops in price in summer time when nobody wants it...
  13. if the government would put the super tax we pay on are fuel and the road tax into making better and bigger roads instead of lining there pockets with it....
  14. most people can only afford one car... So won't be having a ev
  15. Mine is starting to stick in the low gears longer than she usually does. But changes up eventually. 87000 miles on her now. I'm thinking it's time for a oil change. She had full service history till 72000 but no mention of automatic transmission fluid change so don't know if it's ever been done.
  16. My pipes between first and second cats on both sides where badly rusted and leaking. I got a custom exhaust place to weld in New pipes for me , much cheaper than new exhaust... £80 par side
  17. Mine did this too then cut out and wouldn't restart and I replaced the alternator and everything was fine
  18. Engine back to running much better today. I think it must have got water in something and it's dry now
  19. The old alternator flattened the battery not the new one and it wasn't cheep. She was running well until the very heavy rain the other day. had to drive through lots of flooding so I still think it's wet has got in some were. Haven't used her since yesterday hoping she runs better when she drys off in garage
