  1. Not surprised. For a brand rated so highly, something is definitely not right. But then, there was COVID. Let's blame it on that too.
  2. https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/corporate/37301760.html June/July Production cuts. I guess delivery dates will move back. Good thing, NX production line does not appear to be affected. But who knows...
  3. Reading it seems to suggest that non - production was caused by parts shortage from China lockdown. Who would have thought that moving a completed vehicle from factory to port and loading it on ships will require semiconductors. This Covid has destroyed any common sense left in the industry. Everyone blames it for anything. Interestingly, lockdown in China was lifted early this month but reading up the posts, some deliveries are now delayed from 2022 to 2023. I was hoping to see revised improved production plans but it seems to be going in the wrong direction. As Krisdeb said, the summary is....no one knows.
  4. I concur. 'Sit tight and wait' is definitely the best advice at present. I also ordered Nov 21 and my experience is not to trust any ETAs. The only real ETA starts with the confirmation that your order has moved to build. Anything else....is for the birds 🐦 and fairies 🧚‍♀️
  5. Not really. Further suspension news dated 27 May on the same website
  6. Cannot agree more. Way back in March 2022, I set myself September as delivery date and it seems that wish is more likely than not to become a reality.
  7. Dropped in to one of the dealership on a Saturday. Place was like ghost Town. Sales guys complaining as sadly their main income comes from commission. They do not get paid until the car is delivered to you. They have family to feed and bills to pay and wants the car with you ASAP.
  8. The moral of the story is call when you feel like calling. Stop by the dealership, have a free mocha, lovely biscuits and a good old chat with the lovely guys there. It may come tomorrow or next year. The reasons for the delays are irrelevant. Earthquakes can happen tomorrow in Japan, Covid in China, war in Ukraine and many others.
  9. I think 3-4 days for an email is fine - then call if needed. I would only really ask for an update on the vehicle once a month in reality. Sounds like a plausible plan. The question for me is what to consider to be a month in reality. Ordered November 2021 given March 2022. Called in March, ETA moved to May, Called in April, ETA moved to June, Called in May, moved to July. Definitely positive that if I call in June, it will move to August. So will call in September, which seems to be a month outside reality.
  10. Take a look at the North American Lexus forums. They literal pick them up from production lines, freight, car dealerships. Most are stock builds for their precious North American markets. Sadly, we don't count that much for Lexus
  11. Probably but strange that there's always a stack of micro chips for new cars but not placed orders. I wonder how they do it.
  12. Possibly. Only seen one NX350H FSPORT on the motorway to work. Blue with black interior. I must admit, stunning as it cruised past.
  13. NX350H FSPORT 22/10/2021 - Reserved with Deposit 14/11/2021 - order form signed - 3 weeks 14/01/2022 - Test Drive Delivery date - 24/02/2022 when reserved Delivery date - 31/03/2022 when order form signed February 2022 - Delivery date changed - 24 May 2022 March 2022 -Delivery date changed - 14 June 2022 April 2022 - Confirmed by Lexus HQ by email - Delivery date remains - 14 June 2022. 14/04/2022 - order status (app/website) - Order in progress - the same as on the 14/11/2021 Weeks left before 14 June 2022 - 8 weeks. I have set my own delivery date - 14/09/2022.
  14. Looking at Toyota Production plan as below. Hardly any production planned for NX between April 1st and 11th at Miyata plant. Production restarts tomorrow to Friday this week and then back on the 20th of April. Late October and early November 2021 orders might be lucky with April as build date but who knows. We live in hope. Toyota Motor Kyushu Miyata Plant Production line #1 April 1 (Fri), 4 (Mon), 5 (Tue), 6 (Wed), 7 (Thu), 8 (Fri), 11 (Mon), 18 (Mon), 19 (Tue) NX, NX PHEV, CT, UX, UX BEV
  15. For all the switchers from XC60 to NX, please, what made you switch. Is it drive, ride, refinement, luxury, space, cost of ownership, dealer experience, 0-60mph, MPG, handling etc?
  16. In addition - COVID and microchips were already factored in by the manufacturer before the EDD and the assurances above. Maybe, you and your dealer can see well into the future like Nostrademus and were able to have further discussions about earthquakes and many others. In my case, I was not that gifted or opportuned. Nonetheless, none of the above have stopped manufacturers taking orders and giving people spurious EDD. Furthermore, despite all these world problems, no manufacturer I know has posted any loss, in fact Lexus posted a record 1.1% of sales with a record 3000 units in September 2021 (since, you are interested in facts and figures and you may also want to ask them about their rock solid advance order bookings and schedules) despite global issues. Like I said, my order just like many others waiting will arrive but don't seek to minimise other people's experience because you are more fortunate. That was point of this argument.
  17. Thanks Don, I am not seeking to be right. I would probably be on your side if I have my order delivered, telling others waiting, to calm down, be merry, and lexus is on your side. To respond to your quote precisely, this post is not about sales figure but about advanced orders. Personally, I have no business with any manufacturers's sales figure as long as my order is on my driveway. However, I am concerned about advanced orders statistics when mine is stuck like most people who ordered 350h fsport. You talk about hypothetical facts and people knowing about risks when they ordered. The only risks I was factually aware at the point of order was, reserve your order, full spec with no reductions, be the first to test drive, delivery will start January 2022, and your order will be among the second batch. I made my decision based on that. Otherwise, I would have gone for 450h+ Fsport.
  18. In addition, not sure what disingenuous refers to - 20000 orders = 10 million; 2500 orders = 1.25 million. So pick your choice. Numbers often present information better than rhetorics.
  19. Registered sales and advanced orders are different terminologies and have different statistics. If you are sure, please post lexus UK advance order statistics for 2021.
  20. Agreed to an extent. The risks and financial consequences of sticking their neck out is less when dealers have new builds parked on their lots while hunting for customers compared to now when every build slots have hundreds of customers on the waiting list. For every cancelled order, there are hu dress of others in line waiting to snap them up. It suits the manufacturers but a pain the neck for customers. I am a customer not a dealer. Despite your sound investment strategy on your Yaris, you would probably not make a penny if the circumstances were different. For some customers who place an order, there are other factors in play. Each person's circumstance is different.
  21. Not sure where you got the point of full functionality from. To start with, the NX, I reserved last year lost a load of functions to the one being delivered this year. Global issues affect all manufacturers and that is not the point, if you read the statement properly. Some manufacturers are better upfront, I have been around before going for lexus. Some have stock tools where you can reserve stock builds and have it delivered quicker, chips, war or earthquakes included but if you want bespoke build with all features, you get to wait. Lexus in North America also offer that. The rest of your argument about right to cancel and unrecognized revenue seems quite naive in business terms. There is nothing called unrecognized revenue when the cash is sitting in your bank. I am not sure you have any idea of the power of capital flows in business. You may want to pose that comments to companies who crowdfund resources of the value of £10 million pounds in 6 months or finance accountants who struggle with cash flow issues. The arguments often blames the customer but if you don't like the criticism, then don't take the order and if you take the order and give an expected handover date, focus on that.
  22. Congrats, look stunning. One more reason to hang on there for others waiting.
  23. Therefore, the point is, it is frustrating for those waiting for their orders and so if have received yours, count yourself lucky.
