  1. Nice little gadget would be linking the miles to go in the tank display to the Nav so you know where the petrol stations are you can reach before you run out. Infinity
  2. Spoke to an independant online dealer (Drivedeal.co.uk) who also quoted 12 to 14 weeks for a black SEL MM auto. obviously this is the popular one and queues have formed up behind it. Infinity.............
  3. Please dont ask for a sunroof as standard all of us very tall drivers find it a hassle getting comfortable, i'm 6'5" and my old IS had a sunroof after a couple of hours behind the wheel i got a crick in my neck. Definatly have the auto boot lid and sunglasses holder. And how about Internet Explorer on the Nav Screen via Bluetooth mobile connection or even mobile email on screen. Lexus fitted mp3 drive, removeable to load up music files :) Infinity..........

  5. News, After 5 days of stewing and grevious posts on this forum i called in to see the dealer this afternoon . The salesperson i had been dealing with was not available so i saw the transactions manager. To cut a long storey short the dealer has confirmed a new delivery date of the 8th August but he is prepared to hold he car until the 1st of Sept for the new reg plate. I had many of my fears alayed and feel more confident in the approach of the dealership and of the transations manager. I just hope that this date will not slip, (I dont mind as long as it stays within August or even early Sept) even if it does i am assured to be the first to know. I firmly believe if communication from the dealer had been better upfront and totally honest in the first instance this situation would not have arissen. An Infinitely happier soon to be Lexus owner........... :)
  6. I would like to get an across the board idea of how long everybody has or is waiting for delivery of there new car and the experiences along the way. Maybe Lexus will take note of this. I'll start the ball rolling with mine. Orderd Black SEL Auto MM 7th April. I have had 3 different dates June/July(Unconfirmed) August 18th confirmed then changed to September but could be into October. Now the wait could be 7 Months Anyone better that or should i say anyone worse than that. Editted 20th July Additional Info. Dealer has now given me a new date of 8th August, which is much better. But they are also prepared to wait to deliver as a new 56 reg. Thanks to Dameon. Infinity...........
  7. Isnt a dealer of Lexus reputation supposed to be above such underhand dealings. Think i'll start a new topic How long have you been waiting and how many differnt delivery dates. Hopefully Lexus are listening or soon the may have may more cancelled orders.
  8. The original deal saw Lexus take my slightly scrached and minor dented 43000mile 51/02 Black IS200 Sport for a pretty good px (Mid Book Price)and got about 4% off the price of a new 250SEL MM. So i think i managed to get an ok deal. The £1200.00 is the upgrade price from 17 to 18" only you dont get to keep the 17"s aswell One thing to note is, on the Lexus web page, pre-owned vehicles section there are 06 cars the same spec as i have ordered (different colours) for sale with between 4k and 7k on the clock for £1500 more than i will pay for mine new when it eventually arrives. That is a premium of about £5000 after you take the VAT off. That has to be the best premium on a UK sold car in the past 5 years. Since the launch of the BMW Mini Those of you with new or nearly new auto IS250SEL's are really sitting pretty. I am NOT prepared to offer the dealer anything for the larger wheels, he should be offering me the deal although we all know thats unlikley to happen. And if i were to want 18's on the car, i like the Hoshi wheels better than the Baransu's which are fitted. Are LEXUS UK deliberatly limiting uk imports to hold up the re-sale value and prevent dealer discounting. Infinatly more annoyed than last Friday......... Hi Infinity, Can you help me with my arithmetic? You said that 06 cars with miles on the clock were dearer by £1500 than your new SEL MM. If you got a 4% discount this must be around £1200. Where am I going wrong?? Did you get a much better discount?? Tom Tom, If you take the retail price plus vat of a Auto SEL MM selling at £31710 take off about 4% down to £30,500 Lexus are selling pre-owned Auto SEL MM,s for £31995 with 4k on the clock. Now as the car is used, you dont pay VAT so take 17.5% off the original retail price and the difference is the premium. My maths says £5835 ish. THATS A F :tsktsk: G BIG PREMIUM. Still no word from the dealer. On delivery dates, ordered on 7th April and started with a date of June/July, then last month i was given a confirmed delivery date of 16th Aug which i asked to be defered until the 1st Sept, now after the dealer offered me the car with 18 inch wheels for more money, which i have not accepted. The date has slipped again until possibly the end of October, with no confirmed date then. My patients is wearing thin
  9. Used a gut called Steve Burdis, Chips Away Newcastle area to remove a little finger nail size chip on the rear passenger door entry/wheel arch. So good you couldnt see anything after he had finished Best £35.00 i spent on a body repair. :D
  10. On the upside to the dilema on my other current post. The dealer is looking into sourcing an OEM Aerodynamics body kit from Japan and seeing if he can get fitted pre delivery and warranteed. Quote "If its LEXUS part number we should be able to order it" I will keep everyone informed on progress.

  12. Just come back from the dealers. They are adamant that the deal we have done on my car has already been discounted heavily so the are not prepared to add the alloys at no additional cost. Looks like i am in for the long haul. My car may now not arrive until the end of October. Is anyone out there waiting longer. I ordered mine on the 7th of April If anyone is looking for an IS 250 SEL Auto MM in Blue or Black (Black with 18" Wheels and the Blue with standard 17's and a sun roof) Newcastle have 2 looking for a home. To Infinity and beyond........................ :megaangry:
  13. No sold mine back to Lexus back in April and did a deal at that point just incase the retail price of the cars goes up or my old IS200 dropped too much in depreciation. I knew there would be a wait, but not this long. Plodding around in a Ford Connect Van at the momment, i think that is what is pushing me towards taking the cancelled order. But i am struggling to justify £300 a corner for bigger alloys.
  14. yeah i would be holding out for the free wheels. as a last option...how much was the wheels you was going to put on yourself? offer him that much Just the standard 17" wheels. But the 18 inchers are an additional 12 big ones as an option over the standard wheels.
  15. The dealer has a list of 17 waiting for Auto IS cars so even if i dont take i'm sure someone will.
  16. Already asked if the 18's will come gratis and the answer was a deffinate NO
  17. Just had Lexus on the phone, my car which has been on order since April and due for delivery in Sept has now been put back further possibly end of October or longer. but they have a cancelled order for the same spec IS250 SE-L MM with the same colour & interior as i ordered available now only difference is the cancelled order has 18" wheels on. Lexus would like a additional £1200.00 for the bigger wheels. I was prepared to wait until Sept for the new reg so the delay wasnt a problem. I dont really want to pay £1200 for 1" bigger wheels when i could source a reasonable set of 18's and tyres as a spare set for the same money and keep the 17's also. Dealer says he cant change the wheels for 17's also. HELP.... take the car or wait for the new reg and a possible longer wait. :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: For here the wait is to Infinity.......................
  18. Good point, well made. Thanks Infinity.....................
  19. Rather than hundreds of potential gold members asking whats available at each area of the country, from previous posts i believe their is a list of benefits in the Gold Members area now. Would it be possible to allow a link to that from the Join as a Gold Member page so everyone can see what is available before joining. I will be joining, (If you'll have me ) now i know whats out there. Thanks
  20. Looked on the Sewell Lexus pages as you suggested, the parts lists also include fitting instructions for each of the mouldings. Looks quite complicated, lots of drilling holes, not something I would not want to do to a new car. It would automatically invalidate the warranty and i would'nt want to do that. I was hoping the kit was available as a dealer fit option so the risk was theirs not mine. If the parts are listed as OEM pre-coloured parts should the dealer be able to order them as a parts kit and fit them pre-delivery, that way they are covered by the warranty also. From here to Infinity.................
  21. A colleague has a Astral Black IS200 on a T plate, bought for around 8k 12 months ago, previously had 4 owners and a mod'ed hifi system. He has not done anything but have it serviced, although i dont think its done by a main dealer. Dont bother with the off the shelf salons even an older IS is better than a newer clone carriage. Infinity..............
  22. Same for me, I bought a 51/02 IS200 and ran it for 2 years only thing other than servicing was a pair of front disks and pads. Its the first car i have ever owned that never blew a bulb not one in two years. Great car. If anyone has DA51 OOW give her a kiss from me. Infinity.........
  23. 15% is a pretty good deal :D Where do i sign. i wonder if they will give me 15% on my new car also Shy berns get nowt... Thanks
  24. Hi there, I live in the Newcastle area and i am wondering what are the benefits of becoming a gold member? Does the LOC have any arrangements with dealers in the North East, and what are the other benefits to being a gold member. I have looked at the linked page and it does not give much away.
  25. Always been bery expensive for me. Didn't bother get a quote from them this year. B)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Carlos B @ Jul 10 2006, 09:09 PM) ←</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> When I collected my car I got diddly....no flowers or chocolates for the missus, not even a Lexus brolley :shutit: I actually paid for my Brolley... I got a quote from Lexus yesterday. Wow over £200 more than Privilage and the benefits are not much better. Guaranteed Lexus repair and courtessy vehicle though that has to be worth a bit rather than a Nissan Micro thingy
