I agree with Jamboo its the new paint specs, car paint now being water based rather than oil or synthetic based thinners, makes it so much thinner so they use thicker primer/reface to get a somth surface before colour and glaze. Mate has a new black beamer 06 from May with 8k on mostly mway miles and it looks like its be shot with a blunderbus already. Infinity.............. Infinity....

In my experience it is not the mirror that vibrates, rather the rear window as the sub is mounted in the rear parcel shelf. If the bass is that loud you have to ask yourself are you listening to the music or working on the assumption that everything sounds best with the maximum bass. Much like the chavs in their Corsas with sub boxes. Its all to do with sound pressure level. Big speakers (Bass) move a lot of air when the cone moves, modern cars have quite soft seals around the windows to aid in the reduction of noise (some manufacturers name it as a feature) Sound Deadening Glass. The pressure increases in the car as the cone moves forward and the air has to go somewhere so it pushes on the easiest thing to move, streching the seals, moving the glass the mirror is mounted too. Ivan I think that is part of the Aero kit, i asked my dealer if they could order it and fit, but the answer was no as Lexus UK did not import it. (yet) It may be an option later next year. Infinity...............

Based on the above disapointed posts only. Have Lexus passed out of the niche volume car retailer sector and lost the personal touch, seeling more cars to more people, knowing they have a saleable attractive product with a waiting list and now concentrating on return rather than satisfaction. Do bear in mind, that the speakers are not a standard impeadance so running them from a normal amp inst a good idea, Someone will correct me but i think the Lexus speaker impeadance is 2.5ohm, and standard after market car audio amps run at 4 ohms, running Lexus speakers from a normal amp can destroy the amp at higher volumes as the current draw exceeds designed levels. The IS system really is a bespoke system for the car. Check out some of the many posts in the Audio/security forum Infinity.....

Nearly imposible to extract a full system from a car as the wiring is integrated into the whole wiring harness. The components can be removed but piecing the cabling back together would be a complete nightmare. Infinity.............

If the car has changed owners without changing the registered keepers address i would take a serious look at an HPI before you buy, as its one way to hide a ringer, once a car is sold 3 times from being stolen it cant be leagally recovered. I'm not saying this car is a ringer BUT give it a good look over before you buy. Infinity..........

The yanks run a slightly different system to the rest of us sane people in the western world the car may not change at all, but the car has a year mark with it. Or there may be some slight additions like; currently the US model doesnt have bluetooth as standard with the MM its an option that may become a standard etc... Example : We have the VX Astra you dont get a 99 or a 2007 Astra you get a B G or H with no year mark attached the yanks use the year as a marker for the model. eg 68 Impala or 74 Mustang Lexus may try to homologate the cars across the world to reduce build costs and do it year on year to create the perception of added value on each new year model. Thanks Scott Is that an Ipod cable or a 3rd party cable. I could do with a bit more info, does Zen do cables to connect into the car. I have an aversion to Apple and the Itunes software, i would prefer not to use it as its not reverse compatable for the home system Infinity

18's are nice but can you go bigger? Not Lexus but aftermarket, whats the biggest fit without altering suspension or rolling arches etc.. and does changing wheels invalidate the warranty? Infinity....................

I'm considering buying an MP3 player for car/personnal use. I understand that its mostly personal choice on style and memory size but, are all players compatible with the new IS250 or do some have more functionallity in the car than others. Not particulaly keen on Ipod would prefer Zen, does it make any difference in the car. or do they all do the same thing ?
