  2. Yeah i know, i just looking to blame something else i left the aircon on as well :D :D :D :D Love those flappy paddle moments.
  3. You should buy a product called Langka - it makes applying touch up paint trivially easy. You put enough paint in the stone chip, wait one hour, put some Langka on a clean cloth and wrap it around a flat plastic card - 5-10 seconds rubbing over the blob - perfect smooth flush result! It is just fantastic. Langka can gently melt away the excess touch up paint letting you smooth it out properly - but it does not affect normal paint. In fact if you rub for long enough you can remove the touch up paint completely - so if you really mess it up you can sort it out and start again. The key is to work on it within 1-2 hours of application before it cures to being too hard. Mark mspiteri, Any idea where we get Langka from ? Infinity.........
  4. I'm not sure how all of you are getting figures of that magnitude, My Sel auto is just reached 1k and overall i am getting about 24.5 to the gallon this is all urban commuting upto 12 miles each way with some slightly longer journeys nearly all on Shell V Power (only cos the station is close to home) I though i was doing alright as the Lexus Web page said Urban 22.2mpg combined 31, but i'm getting no where near that. Right foot is a little weighty especially with the TRC off ECT PWR on and in the sequential box. OHHHHH yeah. No problems at all so far, cleaning is a bit of a pig though, Jamboo how much for the works? Infinity...............
  5. Next time you press the voice command button, look at the screen. There is a help button there, just press it and all voice commands are listed/ :duh: Infinity......... Yeah that works but there are others in the system that you have probably found that are not listed this is what we need.
  6. I'm struggling with getting the car to understand Geordie so please help me out and post up any voice commands you know work, also your acent or inflection on the command may help I'll start the list off. Warmer Turns up the climate control 2 degrees (If dual zone is set this applies to the driver side only. Cooler Turns down the air con 2 degrees Only works intermittantly dont know why (emphasize COO) Automatic Air Conditioner On/Off Turns the aircon on or off DVD or DVD Changer Switches to CD or DVD Mode FM1/FM2/FM3 or FM 1 Radio/Long Wave Radio/Medium Wave Radio Switches to the Radio preset first 6 second six etc. preset channels and selects the last used station. Seek Up/Down Scans for radio stations. Next Track Moves forward 1 track on the CD or DVD Previous Track Moves back 1 track on the CD or DVD Next Disk Moves 1 disk up on the CD or DVD Previous Disk Moves back 1 disk on the CD or DVD More please. Infinity.........
  7. Cheers Jamboo, Peace and Quiet at long last. only the wife now, where the hell is the off button.
  8. Now I know where all my bits of sandwich, pizza, crisps etc end up I'm not convinced either, tried for 60 miles today to get some air blowing through them, gave in and used the air con. The passenger one always works though To get air through the seats you need the aircon on as it just an extension of the blower vent at floor level
  9. Thanks Jamboo, looked everywhere to find that this afternoon, could'nt find where i'd read it. Off to have go at turning her off. INLAWS ! Oh if you only knew the half of it. (Wont say on here) :duh:
  10. 1. Yes agree alot of the cars have this problem its being addressed by lexus we hope 2. Try changing the cars Pin Number & dont try and pair your phone to the car let the car pair with your phone. 3. Im 6'5" and i dont feel its low, quite comfy after my last IS200 with Sunroof. 4. On Full blow turn the blower towards the dash vents or floor mine works fine its not a jet of air just a smooth draft. 6. Cant Help. 7. Ditto Hope some of this helps, agree great car. Infinity.
  11. Cant find the post someone left on here a day or so ago explaining how to turn off the wittering woman in the voice command prompt, someone tell me how to do it PLEASE. Infinity...
  12. Handbrake is an issue check out the post from Diesel Do Nicley Brian Link mine has a similar problem. Cant say i've noticed the screen flickering you can always turn it off but nobody wants to do that do they? I havent found any mention of screen refresh rates in the manual, that doesnt mean it cant be done, ask your dealer, i suspect its not possible with only having a 12v supply. Please post up any new voice commands you find that work, there seem to be many that are not listed in the car. Infinity...........
  13. Good positive response, hope the resolution is just as good. Well done. Mines very light on the handbrake also, you have to wedge the pedal to the floor to get it to hold, i was going to bring it up at my first service as i normally leave the car in Park without the handbrake anyway.
  14. Infinity i might be interested (once again ) in the facia adapter (ebay guy let me down :tsktsk: ) Like your self i am still doing the research about the wiring harness and if an adapter available, If not then how easy it is to re-wire the pug to an ISO one? bypass the Amp etc too many unknows What was the price again inc p&p please? cheque or postal order or payPal etc? Is there a mute on the standard Deck onthe SE version bottom CD loader deck? wanting to wire up the Nokia Handsfree kit to the car. :duh: Anyone? Cheers, Dibs Have you read through the posts in the Audio and security forums on this site i'm sure there is something in there on wiring. I never had my IS apart so i dont know what the wiring is like. No idea on the telephone either. The facia adaptor is still here £20 plus a couple for whatever the postage is. or if your heading north sometime give me a yell and i can meet you somewhere. Infinity.
  15. I found a new one the other day which is "warmer" - turns the temp up by a couple of degress. Try as I might I can't get a "colder", "cooler", "chill" etc to work :duh: I got cooler to work today but only twice after that the defaualt answer took over again. Cooler put the aircon temp to low. If the climate control is in dual zone it only applies the drivers side. is their a command for the passenger side. I think we need a new thread for voice commands that work.
  16. If the mat slips back the arm on the throttle pedal dosnt have any clearance and jams on the carpet,
  17. If i understand you correctly the new spec cars have the boot switch above the fuel filler release rather than side by side. If this is the case then mine must be a post May 06 car. 1 week in and completly rattle free. The only thing i want to stop rattling on is the "Say voice command after the beep" she is going to drive me to distraction. :shutit:
  18. Try someone like Chips Away they are reasonably cheap and you really cant see the repair when its done. I had my IS200 done a couple of years ago, the guy did 3 chips for £35
  19. I'm 5'6 and may be I'm too close... :duh: It's no so much that it's too low, just too close (if that makes sense). My be I need to sit a little lower and stop pretending that I'm 6'5! Sit lower, and take those blocks off the pedals
  20. thanks Infinity, for the link Read at bottom " A harness adaptor will also be required when fitting an aftermarket radio. Depending on vehicle and original market, either a PC2174 or a PC9406 may be suitable." Which Wiring Harness fits the Se model? :duh: the PC2174 is £8.00 and the PC9406 £32.00 :o nowing my luck it will be the expensive one :tsktsk: Cheers and any responce to the BernardTamHK Q mate? :duh: Heated Seats and trac control buttoms. Cheers Dibs Honestly couldnt tell you as i never got around to mod ing mine, just left it as standard as the OEM system was so good. i bought the adaptor with the intention of changing the head unit then never bothered. Adaptor facia still here if anyone wants it. Infinity.............
  21. Jamboo do you or philwhite have a sunroof, im 6"5' i dont and mine feels fine. Can't say ive noticed the grab handles being low.
  22. That will be "Air Conditioner Off" in my car I said some random gibberish the other day and she answered back "System is showing Toyota Garages" - maybe I said some Japanese :D My car is taking its time to learn geordie, i dont thin there is one voice command that is working even simple ones get an unusual response. Telephone got "Showing all petrol stations" Geordie with a Japaneese acent Hmmmmm. worth a try. Overall the Voice Activation is more useful then I thought it would be and we use it all the time now. It took me weeks to find that cancel destination....I used to say "Route overview", then press route and press delete. I use "Delete all destinations" which works too. and then she asks you in an 'asking' way - "Delete all destinations?" and you can press enter Sometimes though you speak slowly and purposefully, which confuses the 'eck out of her. She put's Ice Rink icons on. Oh dear...... It is very good though. Some are too long winded for me. Like "Dial by name"...you then have to press 2-3 more buttons before you can dial... When she gets a little confused the system reverts to the default answer which is is "Quick Access Destination 4 is not Registered" this seems to be the standard answer for everything. There seem to be alot more commands than the car lists is there a list somewhere i cant find it in the book i know the command list in the car has lots in but others come back as misheard requests which arent listed. Infinity..............

  24. Normally its just a quick phone call to your own insurer at no cost as you are just replacing your car with another as you dont have use of your own during the servicing.
  25. Yep the start up is great. Also if the dealer shows you how to program the Nav make sure he also shows you how to cancel the destination. I drove around for an hour before i worked it out. Check the paint throughly, i just had mine back to have the bonnet polished. and see if you can blag an extra set of dust caps (YOU WILL NEED THEM). Enjoy your day. Infinity.......
