  2. Just watched the opening 5 chapters of War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise Version) the lighting strikes on the ground are stunning. ML Audio is mind blowingly good. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Smiling like Tony Blair Infinity................
  3. Lexus Newcastle have one of those hanging on the wall inthe show room, its been there for ages. maybe you could approach them to buy the display unit if you only need one. Going in tomorrow to pick up my car, will have look to check its an 18 Infinity.........
  4. Ordered mine in March 2005 and almost got the spec I wanted December 23rd. £32+K and don't regret it one bit. Nearly completed the change to SE-L MM 'Sport', which is what I wanted, pedals changed, lowered and stiffened with Eibach Pro springset. Waiting delivery of 19" Volk SF's (Graphite) to finish the transition albeit a little lower, wheels a little wider/larger, suspension a little stiffer. . :) Dropping a 350 power unit in it would give me what I really wanted :winky: Post up some pics wen you get the wheels on, i quite fancy some bigger wheels on mine but not straight away. Infinity.........
  5. DVD Audio is just the same as DVD Video format but obviously without the pictures I have some uncompressed competion disks from my old days in sound off competition, Yello The Race is brilliant also Ride of the Valkyres (Apocalypse Now) Try Jean Michell Jarre Aero its a double CD/DVD specifically recorded in 5.1 and is just awesome. Others to try include Tubular Bells 5.1. The car should just turn off the video when moving. But Aero is fantastic, go buy a copy if you like that kind of stuff Infinity..............
  6. Mines an 06 as its been sitting at the dealers since 8th Aug waiting for the new plate. whats new on the 07. hope theres a Nav update soon.
  7. Pick up the new SEL MM on Friday I wondered what everyone is listening to on there MM and whats good in 5.1 DVD audio. Recomendations please. Jean Michel Jarre has always been a favourite in the past and will probably first on in the newbie. Cheers Infinity....
  8. Wow that is some patience! I know I couldn't wait 9 months for a car - although it'll be even sweeter after such a long wait (well as long as you like it of course ) And i thought i had a wait. I have to confess waiting wasnt the problem. Not knowing the date was. I have the 6 disks picked out waiting to feed the MM with First off will be Jean Michel Jarre DVD Audio version of Aero on Solidarnosc. :D (Awesome sound quality and brilliant production). What about the rest of you 56'ers Infinity..............
  9. Count me in. IS250 SEL Auto MM Black on Black too. Santa's coming on Friday. :D Ive been waiting since April 7th, anyone waited longer ?
  10. Seems that the Sony Ericssons work better than Nokias found this link on the US site some time ago. it may of some help here Infinity.... Pick mine up on Friday, cant wait.
  11. The reversing bleep is only audible inside the car. Its their as a safety feature, as 1st and reverse are so close together, and you dont have to lift or press anything to select reverse. So the car warns you when you do. I thik there is a post somewhere on here about disconnecting the audible warning bleeper but its not an easy job as the sounder is right under the dash board.
  12. How many Police stations can there be on Shetland ? and i bet its only a 5 min drive to it from anywhere.
  13. You are so right. I,ve been waiting 5 months for my SEL to arrive, back in July the dealer offered me a cancelled order, the same colour/spec everything except the car was oringinally ordered with 18" Baransu's on. The dealer couldnt or wouldnt change them for 17's and wanted an additional £1200ish for the car with the bigger wheels on. I asked if the 17's came with it also for that price and i was refered to the options list showing the Baransu's as an upgrade option at £1250.00 Cancelled order stayed a cancelled order and its still in the showroom now.
  14. Are your asking about the actual 18" fitted to the Sport or the dealer optional 18" Baransu & Hoshi? There are several people on here that have fitted 18" OEM Wheels to the SE or SE-L. It's not a factory option in the UK (although it is in the States WTF?) In the UK if you ordered the 18" you also paid for the standard 17" , so presumably they came in the boot . You can also fit 19" custom wheels if you so desire. :P £1200.00 is the upgrade price from 17" to 18's . :o and no the 17"s are not in the boot. I think its a rip off paying £1200 for 1 inch bigger rims when you can buy a set with tyres on for that much and put the OEM 17's in the garage.
  15. Those new IS owners who cant get enough of their car Airfix IS I want one. :D Infinity..........
  16. Congrats on the purchase. Delivery dates are like share prices, they can go down as well as up. have to confess mine was due 16th Aug but arrived at the dealers 2 weeks ago 1st Sept feels like Christmas day to a 7 year old Infinity
  17. Paid £89 for the Black Sport ones from Lexus Newcastle.
  18. Guys Lets be realistic about this. How many non Lexus dealers (Merc/BMW/Audi) have you seen with an IS250 or an IS220 on the forecourt. Answer. Probably None. And how many Lexus delaers have Mercs/BMW?Audis on ALL OF THEM. Lexus are'nt in the habbit of forcing the price down to follow the guide books in fact quite the opposite. The guide books are written based on the market value of the cars, and Lexus want to hold that up as much as possible to prove the quality and longevity of the brand, and keep us buying a good product with a good residual value. If the residuals are terrible we simply wouldnt buy another Lexus. Lexus residual values have been out performing the competition for years. Whats changed?. Nothing, IMHO the new models have strenghtened the brand name. and should hold the value up even more. Just had a look on the LEXUS UK approved pre-owned site at at the 250s SELs auto with MM seem to be very good around 28-30k now thats the price you would pay for a new car from Drive the Deal now, so used cars with 5-8k on the clock are selling for more the the actual Net price of a new car. That looks like strong residual value to me. If its the dealer buy back price you are looking at, then thats probably down to the dealers lining their pockets on the first round of replacements after 12 months. I, for one would not part with my very hard earned cash for a car that i thought would sink like a stone after i left the forecourt. Infinity.........
  19. I asked the dealer if he could source the entire Aero kit for my car . The answer came back, no as Lexus UK were not importing it. I think the only way to get it will be private sale with Sewells, dont forget the import tax when it lands on your doorstep Infinity..............
  20. Rillo, BUT Top Avatar. Howay the Toon.
  21. I'll see if I can lock the fob in the boot in a steel box or take the battery out, and carry the metal key with me. I'll be able to get back into the car with the metal bit , recover the fob and Bob's your uncle! Under normal circumstances does the car recognise the key in the boot and unlock the car if you accidentally leave the keys in? Infinity.........
  22. Try this. Its not the best but may work. Check out the boarding restrictions in Amsterdam, if they are more relaxed than here dont check in your bags all the way to Hong Kong, just to Schiphol. Then re-check in for the long haul taking aforementioned Ipod and laptop on with you. Infinity..........
  23. I urge you to check out some of Jamboos post to see what is achievable with a little elbow grease See Here Infinity......
  24. From what i have read in the forum, and had some experience of, i'm not sure its worth the money Lexus would charge for it. Circa £300 for Diamond Brite or Supa guard, you pay all that money for a kit which costs less than 30 quid on ebay. I think £270 for someone to apply it and give you a 5 year warranty is a bit steep. Then the wife takes you P&J through the nearest ARC with triple foam car wash and its all gone down the drain :o and the guarantee follows. Think i'll have a go myself. Infinity............
  25. I think i'll have a go at waxing myself, i used to do a bit of concours stuff a few years ago. And i have been carefully reading Jamboo's posts on polishing, so thought i would give the Carlack 68 AIO and glaze a go over a couple of weeks with a finish of the carnuba wax, or even pick up a diamond brite kit on e-bay. What were you thinking of having done ? Infinity.........
