  1. I know its no consulation but Newcastle had a Black on Black SEL 250 with MM on 18's they have it for a couple of months and only sold it last weekend. It was someone elses cancelled order they tried to sell me. Sorry i know what its like to wait, (nearly 6 months) ive been there. Hang on in there its worth the wait. See if you can blag free servicing or a price match to someone like Drive the Deal on delivery Infinity.............
  2. This is the one i have, its the best link i could find HERE
  3. I only wanted to know what everyone was listening too ! Infinity
  4. is there not a setting that you can do that yourself....thought I remembered seeing somethingin the manual ? You can set the wiper sensitivity on the wiper stalk. Typical bloke, play first, read later I suppose its time i got the bible out and read it.
  5. I've a new unused double din fascia conversion kit for IS200 if your interested, paid £22.00 on ebay yours for the same plus postage if your interested. Infinity.......
  6. Eunos,Jamboo I'm with you guys on the auto locking, i've only had the car a few days but i find myself rechecking the doors after ive locked it on the door handle button. If the car senses the keys so why when the keys go out of range doesnt the car turn off the engine and lock the doors. The folding mirrors i can take or leave, but the option would be good, same with the headlights, I stick my car straight in garage and the lights in the garage are on auto with the remote garage door. I'd like the sensitivity turned down on the auto wipers as mine go crazy in a light drizzle. Infinity........
  7. Checked my my plate as its on retention the system says it doesnt exist.
  8. Call me sad but ive just bought the IS250 kit Should come this week IS250
  9. If its to power the amp defininatly not you will blow the supply fuse straight away. The power supply to be back of the head unit is not designed for additional loads. As i posted earlier, direct to the battery for power with a separate line fuse rated just below the amplifier fuse rating, if you put a bigger fuse in you risk burning the wiring out. Follow the previous instructions only or you risk seriously damaging the vehicle wiring. Infinity.............
  10. Its good news today as petrol prices are tumbling to less than 89p a litre then, and still falling. :D :D :D Infinity...........
  11. Direct to the battery for the 12v + & down to the chasis for the neg. make sure you use reasonable cable for the power supply including the earth, in 12v DC you will loose half a volt per metre if you use crap cable killing the output from your sub. Something like 4AWG unless your running a huge amp. Pick up the power arial output from the radio or switched 12v as a power on for the amp or if you dont have one any ACC or Ignition live will do.I have an old table showing voltage drop over cable length against power draw in watts, giving recommendations on cable guage for power. I think its at work, i'll see if i can find it tomorrow and post it up. or try this for a quick answer the load in amps is the size of the fuse in the amp for a best guess. Infinity..........
  12. Yes, because DVD and DVD audio are the same thing, just the sound without pictures. Infinity...........
  13. Feels like home. Trying not to give it toooooo much but flick that lever to the right pull back twice and sink the right foot. Notch one forward at 6k and by the time you count to 10 im in the next county. :D Has anyone actually read the owners manual fully, wow thats some big book. Thats the first tank full and its mostly been round the doors, just clocked 120miles. I took my better half out for a run this afternoon down to Tynemouth, weather is just shocking. came back up the A189 and got wrong for going too fast in the wet. My wife is way too sensible. Watched a poor guy loose the door off his Vauxhall Signum this aternoon, he openned it on a Polo when he was parked on a double yellow, the Polo took it clean off on Tynemouth Front Street. Polo nearside was shredded. I thought the old guy driving the Polo was going to pop a valve, ive never seen any one shake that much after a low speed crash. Poor fella i dont think he'd ever had a crash, and this one was'nt his fault.
  14. When i play DVD's there is a button on the screen to look at the various surround options. this isnt available when you play the SACD. All this said its the only one i can play all the others dont work at all. Just done a bit of checkingon the SACD, the newer SACD's are hybrid which allows them to be played on all machines SACD or not obviously non SACD equipped players only see the stereo track From Sony's SACD site Will my current CD collection play on an SACD player? Yes. Super Audio CD players can play back all current CDs. Can I play a Super Audio CD on my current CD player?Only Hybrid SACDs - i.e., those containing a CD layer - can be played on CD compatible players. What is SACD Multi-channel? SACD multi-channel sound can contain as many as six separate channels, each captured on disc at the full DSD bit rate with the full DSD sound quality. Some producers will use the added channels to faithfully reproduce the precise acoustic signature of the performance space. Others will realize new creative possibilities, immersing the listener in a 360° field of sound. Multi-channel SACD takes its place beside stereo SACD as another compelling way to enjoy music.
  15. I was told by Lexus Newcaste that they have never taken an engine out of a 200 for major repair and they are servicing cars some with well over 250k on the clock. Bank the cash for a rainy day or use it for wear and tear.
  16. Just tried a Sony SACD sampler disk and the car will not recognise the disk 50/50 multichannel and stereo tracks and the MM will not play it. maybe the disk you have is a newer multi layer disk with multi channel and stereo. Mine dont work.
  17. Dont get dis-spirited it depends on what youre ordering the auto's are taking ages as most are going to the States. Autos can take 10 to 12 weeks at the moment others can be much less. Email loads of dealers to see what stock they have as cars are in such short supply dealers will take anything to hold as stock. Its worth the wait. :D Infinity...........
  18. You may well be right newbie....still sounds excellent though, with clearly defined channel seperation, and it does actually "play" as opposed to refusing to recognize the format as with other types of music code / format EG: I dont believe anyone has yet found a way to get the ML system in these cars to recognize/ play a DVD of mp3 /wmas? Just checked my SACDs in the car and it just plays in stereo as there is no available multi channel option on the screen. Still sounds good. Infinity............ How do you mean...no available multi channel option on the screen ???? no the multi channel is there it just plays in stereo
  19. One to start with. Everyones seen the outside, whatabout inside in the dark.
  20. Sorry guys no pics yet, weather around here has been utterly foul so will try tomorrow after a quick wash andd brush up. Infinity.............
  21. Does that mean once again Sony actually had the superior format, in that it could also be played in standard CD players? If only they weren't so stupid about copy protection..... ;) This may sound a little silly, but I don't understand why it can play DVDs, and mp3s on CDs, but can't then recognise a DVD full of mp3s :duh: Mixed formats, like photos on a CD, some players see the photos some see junk same with MP3 on DVD. The software just doesnt see the data as MP3 as its on a DVD.(Compression again) Im sure there will be a way to confuse the software so it recognises the MP3's. Will have a search on download.com see what i can find. Ill report back later. Infinity.........

  23. I know i said i would post pics of my car today but its ******* down out there and i'm not going out in that For those of you who would like to know what my car looks like, its exactly the same as this one without the rear lip. That keeps me nice and dry. Will post pics of mine when the weathers better. Infinity.............
  24. Isn't SACD and DVD audio roughly the same thing? And what is the actual difference between a CD and DVD audio besides the 5.1 encoding and extra capacity? I thought CD was uncompressed audio too? :duh: Now im not sure if it does play SACD as i think that is a Sony/Philips driven format. I have one or two SACD's in my collection so i will try them in the morning. SACD and DVD audio are similar but encoded differently not all DVD players will play SACD but all will play DVD audio. All of the SACD's i have are recordd in a format called Direct Stream Digital (DSD) Both DVD and SACD are multi channel audio. I think DVD video is the VHS to Sonys SACD/DSD Betamax. Its probably better sonically but nobody wants it. All CD/DVD/MP3/WMA/CDA etc. audio formats are compressed to differing degrees to reduce the stream rate from the source and get more on a disk or whatever its stored on. uncompressed audio is exactly what is says it is uncompressed so takes up far more room on a disk than normal CDA and is sonically massively superior to CDA or MP3 you here all of the music and all the harmonics not just loud notes that blot out the high frequencies. With uncompressed audio you may only get 3 or 4 3 minute songs on a standard 700mb disk. Infinity........... Just checked SACD in my Sony laptop and it wont play.
  25. Quick Post as the dearly beloved needs some attention now First Impressions. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Nearly six months waiting fianally over. Picked up the car at 1.00pm this afternoon. Chris at Lexus Newcastle was very good very attentive and gave us a full run down on the whole car this took nearly an hour and a half. Drove off out of the hand-over room smiling like a cheshire cat, confident and happy. Took it out for a little run (60 Miles) just to get a feel for her. Engine is very tight, im sure like all new cars it will need a couple of weeks to relax but performance is sharp even at this early stage, the car handles very nicely round the twisty stuff up in Northumberland turn in is really crisp and precise. We stopped at a pub and left it parked out in the open and sat in the beer garden so we could just people watch. Its soooooo good to see others admire youre new toys from afar. Audio is wow as previously posted on another thread Jean Michell Jarre Aero in 5.1 is just fantastic, the sound stage is so wide and the ambience is just awesome. Bass is a little blunt but i expect that to crisp up as the sub is run in. Seats very comfy even for a fat boy like me. I find myslef running out of superlatives. The wait has been well and truly worth it. Even my wife who is normally completly turned off by all cars admits its a beautiful machine and loves the air con seats and little blue Lexus logo's when you open the doors, she cant belive how quiet it is inside especially since the normal daily driver for the last 5 months has been a Ford Connect Van. I liked my old IS200 Sport, the engine roar when you planted youre right foot, i kinda miss that feel but he comfort is truly excellent. I got a bit paranoid about rattles, and driving through the countryside got a nasty rattle around the drivers door my focus was pulled to just listening for things, so I turned off the audio for a while, after a couple of miles i realised the case from the CD i was playing was in the door pocket. I hope this is as bad as it gets. I had a little difficuly getting the Bluetooth to connect until i realised the pin number on my old headset was the same as the car, once changed it connected first time. Syncronised the entire contents of my SE P910i contacts list effortlessly. I work out in Dubai alot so most of my numbers have international dialing codes and i know some people have had problems with international codes but non here. I have 17 speed dials to choose from, which i think is enough for me, i also got battery life and signal strength on the display. Thats all for now, i will post more when i get a chance. Sorry i hav'nt taken any pics yet but i plan to tommorrow and will post them up soon as i work out how. Love it. Infinity.............
