  1. Hello and welcome to the club...... Bet Tuesday seems an age away!!
  2. He doesn't have any options, the threads gone national, he must feel a right numpty
  3. An epic thread :D http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=68729
  4. That's not a dumb question, i think it's a very valid question...... The slip should be used where the pad makes contact with the carrier, the shims don't need slip.
  5. They sound fantastic...... we had a DB9s in, the same as the one in the Bond film and that was just plain rude
  6. It was immaculate all round but the bit i liked best was the "spinner" centre caps on the wheels.
  7. LOC did themselves proud with 45 cars on the day, the meet even made the motor mags so well done everyone..... If i recall we set around 12 cars on the day, all free for the club. Another meet we had was for the Omega owners club (they have problems to) but of the 15 cars we had on the ramp 10 weren't fit to be calibrated!! Back to the F430.... we fitted a new set of tyres £1200 and these are half worn after 1100 miles, apparently the clutch has blown due to six "launch" control tests and the magnetic suspension isn't working as it should..... other than that it's great?
  8. Thanks..... the designer decided what images to put in, all i need to do now is filter the ones i don't like and add some more that i do. OMG you've worked on like every car I've ever really liked Tony, some top cars there :) We do seem to attract the high end marques, i don't know how that's evolved? but i am fortunate to have such a diverse class of cars. In fact in Jan we have a Ferrari owners club meet with 20 confirmed cars already so that should be an interesting day.... One of the members we have already met, his F430 has just had two superchargers fitted in Germany giving him a total for extras spent on the car at ........ 300k...... The rear tyres lasted, ready for this!!!!..... one week and did 1040 miles :o
  9. Thanks..... the designer decided what images to put in, all i need to do now is filter the ones i don't like and add some more that i do.
  10. Thought you would like to reminisce over our superb meet> http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/simplegallery.php
  11. Did you ever see a more stupid goal? its coz he had super silent rubber boots just like these new tyres are gunna be made of! and no one heard him sneaking in. see they are a bad idea!! but at least we scored again :) Plus when the rest of the team heard him they all died from the noise!!
  12. Chris i don't think anyone's denying the fact the road surface is designed to make tyre noise, the object of the post was how ridiculous it is that tyres will have a legal harmonic limit before sale.
  13. I'm of the distinct opinion you feel passionate about this!
  14. -20% discount for new members is very generous considering the in/out of house benefits for members during these troubled times. It's comforting to read that team LOC have gone that extra mile and opened a Golden window that's more affordable when every penny matters.... Fair play.... I tip my hat to you....
  15. Did you know in New York cars like the Prius may be forced to make engine noise's for the benefit of the blind?..... Personally i can see reason with that but!!..... modern cars can "whisper" around town so where's the line drawn?
  16. I admire you for keeping your cool..... How the hell you can contain feelings after losing the car and retaining any form of dignity when butt fugged by the insurer commands respect. I really hope you get this sorted fella..... I really do!
  17. I'm speechless unless i can brake every profanity this club protects..... God bless the little mite, and God help them in prison where the criminal code will prevail..... Justice will be served!
  18. Background Under the directive 92/23/EEC tyres can only be supplied into the market if they conform to certain requirements. Under a further directive- 2001/43/EEC- the requirements were extended to cover the noise tyres were permitted to make in contact with the road surface. Compliance schedule 2009: all except C1d and C1e (not sure what they are?) 2010: all tyres over 185mm and up to 215mm width 2011: all tyres over 215mm width All tyres without the prefix "s" denoting sound are not permitted for sale after the above dates. wim says: With all the various fields that should be improved regarding tyre safety i find it unbelievable "sound" is an issue that needs such attention, how about increasing the minimum legal depth to 2mm rather than the current 1.6mm, ok the unregulated noise may disturb the odd politician during tiffing but the absent sound of cars hitting trees surely would counter this
  19. @geoffers...... How can anyone be so observant, in truth it was my chin not my wallet that made the "imaginary" dent, when they told me how much the mezzanine flooring cost. Anyway...... I have taken everyone's advice and the site has been corrected partially, the rest will be soon... One area i'm keen to see is the club meets, the car gallery and the wim race cars.
