My backplates around the discs have been removed/rotted/fell off but I get that rubbing sound going round bends.🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Just had my VSV done, guy had never done one before and was up for a challenge. He rang me 4 hours later to say it was all done. He used the process from Tomtit, 👍👍 For info, the valve and 2 new inlet gaskets cost £200 from Lexus.

Couple of questions. 1, When changing the reluctor rings, are the dust shrouds necessary to change? I’v read that some people don’t put them back in 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ Also when purchasing reluctor rings, do the dust shrouds come with them? 2, Is it advisable to change the ABS sensors at the same time?

Opposite way round for me, I only had to replace the power steering motor on my Z4 in the 9 years I owned it, Nothing else. Yet the SC has given me several issues in a year and a bit. What tips have you posted on doing the job?

Bob, my mechanic is going to fix it. I have to say it hasn’t cut the mustard in the time I’ve had it, I much prefer a car you have to drive, I know I should have kept my old trusty Z4. I’ve always wanted one, now I’ve had one.

Well I’ve had code P1651 come up today, I’ve asked round what it involves and decided to get it fixed shortly. So after it’s been done I’ve decided to sell the car, I know I’m going to make a big loss on it after the premium price I paid for it and money and repairs I’ve done on it in the year and bit I’ve owned it. I want something I can climb into the engine bay and fix myself, something before all warning lights lit up like a bloody Xmas tree and sent doubts into your head thinking what the f##ks gone wrong now Whatch this space.

Bloody hell Ant, I didn’t know about this😯😯 Don’t rush the mend, take it nice and slow and in time I’m sure you’ll be back to full strength. Also stretch the pampering out from the wife and Tom 😆😆

Graham, Sorry I don’t know anyone up your way, but I have recently had mine replaced at my local stainless exhaust place from the 3rd cat back (where the 2 front pipes join) in stainless and I paid £900. That should give you an idea wether you need part or full system. I also went for 2 separate rear boxes as opposed to the original 1

Bob will have the answer on this aswell as anything else on the SC. He is a hive of useful info, he should write a manual on all the pitfalls and repairs. C’mon Bob😂😂

Bob, would that be the cause of me sometimes seeing droplets of water settled on the pull out cover in the boot under the lid 🤔🤔 If water was coming in through the 3rd brake light housing, I would have thought it would just soak into the liner which is fixed to the boot lid but not come through 🤔🤔 -

Graham, Bobs first fix of running a bead of RTV sealer between the front of the rubber and the metal cured mine. When I’d done that I opened the roof and poured water carefully onto the rubber seal and made sure it run out the bottom of the sill under the door. -

Glyn Thanks for that, it’s now a project for next year spring time because I don’t have a garage to work in. The centre console is so easy to take off, done it a few times, I believe I could actually do it blindfolded 😂😂 Do you have a link for the gear knob? Russ

Hi Glyn Did you wrap the dash panels and panels on the door cards too and if so, how do they come off to do it? Its something I have been planning on doing, I’ve done a bit of wrapping myself in the past from gained knowledge helping my mate who has his own wrapping and tinting business. As you have said though about the steering wheel being difficult, I would probably let my mate do that😂😂 Cheers Russ

I have a 2004 SC and found that most makes of Bluetooth only fit 2005 and above. I contacted “Grom” about it and sent a pic of the back of my radio plugs and they said it would work, it didn’t, so I got a refund. Since then, “SC430mods” in America have done one to fit 2005 and below. I haven’t fitted one so don’t know if it works or not. The guys name is Calvin and has his own Facebook page. Also on YouTube.
