  1. I was checking the prices of 2010 cars a short while ago. I think around £5000 is attainable. Just got wait for a savvy buyer Also, just my opinion. I dont think they too bad on fuel. Had mine a while and sussed out how much fuel i use.
  2. Saw those wheels on ebay, used with tyres. Think they were asking £500. Good while ago now though.
  3. Kwikfit are a set of thieves. Once drove out of one of those places with my wheel scraping on wheel arch. They wanted £275 for a spring on a fiesta, they tried telling me it was a pig of a job on those cars. Garage up rd did it for£120 Anyways, im taking it to the independent garage tomoz, il live with the £210.
  4. My main concern is that the garage doing it dont ring me to tell me they are seized up. Suppose they have more kit there to have a go at sorting that, then i do.
  5. ATS just quoted £283. Like i said, would have done it myself but drive aint as flat as i like it, only got a jack and an axel stand, plus backs at me and really dont want be bent over. Il pay the £210, but realise im being ***** turpinated
  6. Just looking to make sure whoever does the brakes buys the right size. I say this because one garage is saying there are 2 sizes and another 2 have not got back to me on a price. One other quoted me £310 whilst another quoted me £210. Seems to be some confusion, im getting the feeling they dont like working on Lexus, one guy that did my service told me they are a pain. I dont see see anything difficult though, for these tasks. I know there is a 310, not sure about the other. They have the reg, bit confused.
  7. Hi Vlad, Its a bit awkward because my drive is not totally level, also I only have a jack and an axel stand. If it was the front, id do it.
  8. Back on subject, does anyone know how long an original can last for ? Also, seen this, looks an handy trick to get some more time, maybe.
  9. Mines at 87000 now, oh dear. Anyways, get why you would just bite the bullet and take it lexus. Took mine to a garage id never used before yesterday. Last thurs spoke to a guy about doing back brakes and discs and a service. We agreed a price and i dropped it at the correct time arranged. Was greeted by a guy sat there eating a sandwich, his first words were "why do you want the brakes doing"? I thought, thats a bit daft and got the impression they really couldn't be assed doing the brakes. I calls back at 5 and low and behold, he says they didnt have time to do the brakes and asked me to come back sat for those. WTF, anyways wont be going back. Paid £160 for fresh oil, oil and air filter and a bit of grease here and there. Would usually do it myself but wanted the brakes doing so thought what the hell, this time. Will drive the 12 miles back to my old garage in future.
  10. Hows about something like this ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192474249867?hash=item2cd05bfa8b:g:4eIAAOSwnK9ZSVzq&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoMsVx8pYM%2FgyQrTMncCz64KynivaFInG7yMtjrLBrkqmtxyguz%2Bky76%2B%2BQCcjkPMJL3PubD%2FvFj12roKFL8Rf69lYxjcCLGM2AvNOJpBFL6KU8OOdsd4gsNXvJKw9CjLc1fYhs4GRsY2N5G9IDrnBHVsfDX7KwSA2aEwxhnzBTgbt3f1zOIZdasp1ZeVUjSwpQvYHcFJOr8W80L2pcwWww4%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5b74PrUYA
  11. Hello, was that at Lexus? I cant understand why fitting one shock would be so expensive.
  12. Ps, went out for a drive last night and put the aircon on. The revs went up a little but no pulsing. Im hoping ive got away with it, will see how it goes. Thanks all. Much appreciated
  13. Also, the short write up that backs up what has been said. https://www.coolcaraircon.co.uk/using-car-air-conditioning-all-year-round/#:~:text=Let us find out how and why.&text=You should run your car's,to move around the system. Passed all this info on to the misses and watched it go in one ear and out the other haha
  14. Thank you, just read an article online that backs up what you say. Ive heard of a re-gas but never heard of any aircon oiling. Im assuming they will do this, should they do a re-gas.
  15. Ps, booked in for a service and back brakes next week at a local garage, will ask about regas and oil, cheers
  16. Just had a look over your thread Linas, some good info. As long as i get hot air in winter, thats the worry. Its hot at the moment here but lets face it, its not tenerife. I can live without cold air, Stripped aircon out of 2 cars in the past, so not a killer for me
  17. Thanks Linas, I will see how it goes. Over the next few weeks i will leave it on and just use the temp Will this not use a lot more petrol though ?
  18. Was only joking how car the reliable is but anyways noticed something unusual today. If air con broke, not bothered, will live without it. Went like this............. Gets in car, its boiling hot. Winds windows down Turns climate auto on and puts temp to minimum and on full blast, thought il put windows back up when cold air comes out. Starts driving, gets to lights and revs start going up and down, thought thats weird, remembered a thread a bit earlier with regards cutting out, mine didnt cut out. I turns off Auto (climate) and engine revs return to normal I puts windows up and carry on driving. I turns Auto temp back on again and turns temp up, it does it again so i turns off again. I starts driving again but this time turn off full blast and puts it on medium, temp down to minimum Everything now working ok Only used aircon twice, didnt have an issue the first time. Was only serviced at Lexus last July, interim. Is it something ive done ?, or maybe an issue.? Cheers.
  19. Maybe im lucky, done at least 20 oil changes over the years and always re-used the same washer. Never had a leak, that im aware of anyways.
  20. Aye, i dont think folk would buy an is250 for performance, just a quality runner. More Mo Farah than Chris Akabusi
  21. Ive had 2 faults on my is250 since feb, dam thing. Yesterday the Lexus decal on the front seat started peeling off in the hot sun Passenger window trim lifts up by 3mm when i put the window back up. Cant cope.
  22. My father had the Audi coupe, same age. Not a patch on the quattro, looked similar though He loved it, very reliable. Ended up with 2.
