  1. its like its flooded, but cant be Would i be right in saying that if it was the fob battery, it would not try to start at all ?
  2. I only changed battery 4 months ago but will try other fob. It turns over, strong but just no start
  3. Nearly started but now red light on push button start Wont even let me use the fob to lock car, lights on dashboard still on
  4. Ok, sorted the connectors and now battery fitted. STILL NO START The brake pedal seems really STIFF as you put your foot on it to start. Tries to start
  5. Can someone confirm whether the plug on the side of the battery cover actually disconnects Actually coming close to just cutting the battery cover in half lol
  6. Cheers, never seen this before Some kind of plastic battery surround with a connector Little plug thing, bit of a pain
  7. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary with lights, but was early and i was still half a sleep. Is there anything i should be aware of in advance with regards swapping the battery?, im assuming its pretty straight forward for these motors
  8. Hello Ive had it a year and have no record of it ever being changed. With that in mind, i guess that's where il start. Cheers Sean
  9. Had to jump in the misses car this morn for work, the is250 wont start. I pressed the button and it turned over (somewhat weak), spluttered a bit and continued this process until i thought best just hit the button again. Give it three attempts. Im assuming battery ?, If so, what's the average price for one? Ps, always thought modern cars would not let you try start the car if they sensed low battery, my Ford wouldn't anyways. Cheers Sean
  10. This https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353218817544?hash=item523d7b6e08:g:f4kAAOSw2khhEe-l&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8JRs7AMW6bucoH19%2FzqlDRwG9rgVrelKu%2FC5l6O65qw2rERkpypHg2F2CscULFNNxMjOL44np%2BS7p3rRzNVaen9UZr%2FRJNMyl2SsRSqMALLOs1R5BO5QlP%2Fk2jl15RU5tCjg5cCHP6Wi9AtCUlEBniW%2FdD%2F0MA8QTVN2DXRuCN9Y62d6WkRC5CiS5vbBlu%2Fu66SBF421osHyhWbAMHx1J8tcsAy4oiuBM2PW8fbcZSiLuCG0scEt3iQzTOBGf%2FyrU01h2uZTiS7JVpFW8MEqjtRVdjJNImW6IySoECP4KjE%2FCdI8EFKATRoORV3w6yDOgw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4qK2duvYQ
  11. Bought a kit on Ebay a few years ago, think it was about £10. various sandpapers and a buffing compound, sealer. Made my old Stype R headlights look brand new. Was supposed use a buffer but didnt have one, did it by hand. Took a morning. Wouldnt pay someone to do such a straight forward easy job
  12. From what i gather that Carbon build up issue is not that much of an issue, it can be sorted out quite cheaply. I say that in contrast to issues that other manufacturers have where you are spending £1000,s to put things right. Spent time on Mercedes and BMW forums, many expensive issues. A guy in work bought a 5 year old Golf with 45,000 miles on the clock. Its losing coolant, only had it a month. Garage fobbing him off telling him the warranty will sort it, told him find another garage as they are too busy. Anyways, i takes a look and has a google. Water pumps can go at 40000ish miles!!!. Not only that but his coolant looks a rather unusual milky colour. I guess it has already been said. Was joking with a pal about forums. On here you get the likes of me moaning about wipers and window seals coming up when you put the windows up, the odd more serious issue, never issues with snapped timing chains etc you find on other forums. On a side note. Was talking to an engineer in work about how parts are not made like they used to be. He showed me 2 bearings and said hold them . It was obvious one was heavier than the other. Manufacturers are now cutting corners and building stuff with inferior pars, this is the same for a lot of stuff, including motors. Stuff that used to be manufactured in Germany now made in China, and so on.
  13. Curious if anyone has ever heard of a gearbox failure purely down to the state of oil ?
  14. John, i think with the severe lack of proper front heated window, i may have to resort to scraping haha Dont know what Lexus were thinking. Apart from that, 99% great car
  15. Linas, aye, car is dry as a bone on the inside. Last 3 cars have always had really good front electric heated windows, lines show up in a minute or so, then off i go. One of those that dont scrape windows, im afraid, prefer to let the car do it. Last thing i want to do at 4am on a cold morning is scrape windows in minus 4. Dont mind a brew whilst watching from the house whilst it does the job. lol No car ive had in the last 15 years has been this slow. If snow on the car, then obviously il shift it.
  16. It really is bad. Never noticed last year as no frost but this year, feels like an eternity. No heated glass, I'm assuming not anyways. Top left and right still frosty after 10 minutes of driving. Guy at work recommends a trick I've never heard of, putting the sun visors down to assist haha.
  17. They have to be used and not stood, regularly serviced as pointed out by Linas, When i was buying, this guy sold it to me lol, with his various vids.
  18. Is this with the air con on ? See if it runs better without the air con on.
  19. My car told me the battery in the fob was on its way out, a few weeks back so replaced it. Is this not standard on previous years ?
  20. Looks mint, as often they do straight from Japan! cool car Bad luck about the zx. If its any consolation i once drove all the way from Manchester to some place on the coast of Scotland to look at a zx. It started snowing on the way there, was a nightmare. I got there and it was obvious the car was 2 cars welded together, the gap between the doors was ridiculous. The guy said it was mint on the phone lol. Coming home, got a speeding ticket and broke an alloy on a pot hole. Needed a beer when i got back haha Ps, think the engine in your new motor is the same i had in my old gs300, great motors!
  21. Suppose you cant expect a 10 year old car to be in perfect condition. I only wanted to bring to attention a possible rust issue on the car, it is only the anti roll bar so not the end of the world. Surprised they wont view it though to make sure all ok, [probably dont want the hassle of dealing with it.
  22. No, as said, just bad accident repairs on bodywork The front anti-roll bar certainly can rust though, mine was rusted but cured it and wax oiled.
