  1. I have that arrangement on the XK. Just as well as the battery is behind panels in the boot. Clearly no one wants to be removing those on a regular basis.
  2. Only that once upon a time you would still be in English territory. Aquitaine.
  3. My brother does exactly the same thing. Seems to work very well withe Internet for searches for accommodation.
  4. Probably just as well. In book 15 Sharpes Sword Wellingtons rifles left enduring memories. Although in truth they were liberators from the French under Marmont.

  6. I think we have all learned the reality is that if "pictures are worth a thousand words" then the first word might be 'misleading'.
  7. Laughing as one guy is obviously much taller judging by the legs. Blind as a bat, deaf as a post and unfortunately dumb is now in the equation.
  8. After Lexus quoted £560 to a corroded brake pipe I went to a recommended Indy. Typical local lass with decades of experience looked at the healthcheck paperwork and smirked. |She asked "do you what brake pipe costs?". Not a clue I replied. "£1.50 per foot", she informed me. Labour is the issue, but the Indy is generally going to be a lot less expensive than the dealership.
  9. That's strange. Now two red for sale on Autotrader at slightly different prices. Different reg. Different cars looking at the seat belts. However, in both there is one pic of a guys legs in the driving seat wearing exactly the same trousers? Or is it time for me to go to the opticians again?
  10. Joke https://www.facebook.com/share/p/HVcugZXd8GCjurx4/
  11. Fortunately the groups mentioned above are easily identified and avoided. Invariably they have names that start with the letter A through Z.
  12. Sounds like me growing up in the Dales with the T shirt. Any time of year just the T shirt. I don't know if its more than just a theory of mine, but I always had the feeling that if you grew up acclimatised to cold you might just get sort of used to it a bit more than people who swaddled in layers against it. There again until 3 years ago i used to walk around in shorts in Winter (local legend apparently), but my hands used to go blue and numb. Was told that's the blood supply issue with not keeping your body temp up. Started wearing trousers like other people on this planet and my hands stopped going blue so science apparently works.
  13. Potholes get any worse around here it will be Can BY Bus Only.
  14. It looks decent enough from the bitcwe can see, but it's not concours anymore than mine isn't. As a start the vinyl behind the rear seats needs sorting.
  15. End of March in sight with warmer temps ahead (some time not too distant). This is when the SC 430 really shines when the roof comes off and you have just blue sky above you. My first real summer with this and I am beginning to get a bit excited. Idiot remember this is the N West of England not the S West of France. No, still excited at the idea.
  16. When I said NO I had thought it meant would the tonneau still close and the roof come off. Without that constraint as you show the boot capacity ain't bad !
  17. I don't understand why leaving it any time at all would change the current situation. The heat is supposed to basically tighten the leather at a structural level (fibres). However, when the heat is removed and the temperature of the material normalises the effect stops and you are left with whatever you have got. I see no logic in the agents suggestion. You have my sympathy on this one. I would be unhappy to be buying leatherwork to see it degrade that quickly. Hold out for better.
  18. Going with NO. You see the white one in the middle I could live out of that for a month. The other two might just about contain sufficient to keep the wife happy for a week.
  19. Strange thing is my battery position is exactly that, but when I went to the battery specialist shop he told me the Exide battery was the only one on the market that would fit the SC 430. Sounds like he was wrong?.
  20. Definitely interested on how the heat treatment worked.
  21. "Amazing comfort and reliability with immense power and presence" Extremely organically powered via dinosaur droppings.😉
  22. Well strictly speaking this one should be closer to a third than a second Belt given it's year 2005. manufacturers do specify both age and mileage so if we believe them age degradation must be a factor irrespective of mileage. Do we believe them though?
