  1. sunroofs can be replaced :) it was upsetting, but hey... ***** happens... at least the flying object didn't come through the roof hit me on the head, renderring me unconscious on the motorway, making me lose control, and causing some SERIOUS damage.... right!? :)
  2. I've currently finished 50sq ft. I have another 50sq ft with which i will finish the floor, the doors, the rear shelf (double sided) the boot lid and perhaps double up on the roof with a few more sheets. I still have a few bits (about 5sq ft) to do in the boot, but then the rest will be used to double up on essential bits. I'm not saying that i've got enough to finish the job, but i'll just have to buy some more if it is the case. :) If anyone is interested in how much of an improvement this has made... my opinion is that it has already made a drastic improvement... and that's without any audio equipment... road noise is down to a very low hummmmm...... :D
  3. That's quite a fascinating article... and from what i gather, the yellow fog theory is not as "hazy" as i thought it was... I guess i'll have to get me an upgrade soon then... winter approaches, and i've heard it will be a mild winter, so better get me some decent fog lights :D ps: i too saw Sams Fog HID conversion, and it does look superb!!!
  4. It's not the Dynamat, but i have used dynamat in my previous car. This stuff is from R-blox, and although it's slightly thinner, it still feels good to me. Perfection is the reason my last gf dumped me :( ahhh well her loss Yes Peter :) The blue neons have been sitting very silently in my room for quite some time. Since the abuse i got from our London Meet in 2005, i had to keep this very quiet but now that Maneesh has come out the closet with his neons... i thought i would toooo lol As for the sunroof, i've just duct-taped it up... and held the glass together with some scraps of sound deadening material. It'll do for a couple of days, i hope.
  5. the roof bit is easy :) i've done that too... just didn't post pics yet... only because the day after i sound deadened it (sunday) i got a stone through my sunroof (monday) :( i'd start with : plastic cover over rear view mirror (reveals 2 silver screws) plastic surround over front courtesy light reveals a further 2 screws... unclip the unit from the roof. 2 screws holding in each sunvisor... and a single screw holding in the sunvisor stay-clip. remove the plastic covers over the hand pulls (the place you can hang your jackets / shirts) which will reveal a screw at either end and remove these. remove the clear lens plastic from the centre courtesy light, to reveal 3 gold screws and remove. remove the plastic cover over the seatbelt against the post to reveal a 14mm bolt each side. pull the trim and slide up. pull out the trim from the A-post near the front and slide up and the same trims at the rear screen. remove the top half of the door trim from all 4 doors. remove the trim around the sunroof. finally 2 plastic clips can be pulled from the rear, and that's it :) the whole thing will come out :D told ya it was easy!
  6. and i'm loving that sig pic he's got going on... is the lake really that blue and can grass be so green ? :D
  7. Please do mate, this maybe something to look at in the near future. over in Audio/Visual... :)
  8. So... for those of you who have seen > http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=35860 You'll be expecting it to power a nice set of speakers right? But what's the point in having nice speakers if the sound is lost because of bad acoustics. Unfortunately, as silent as the IS200 is, it's still not enough. Extend the audio capability of the IS beyond stock speakers and things will start to rattle. BUT.... there is a fix! Sound Deadening. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ For those who can afford the branded stuff... dynamat is the guaranteed way forward... for those on a budget, there are other various similar products on the market, but make no mistake, it's the best investment you'll ever make. Here's how the progress goes >
  9. there's a plastic clip that covers it... try slide the seat forward... anyhow, on the sound deadening subject... i've just finished off the boot area, and under the rear seats and the rear seats back panel... :) i'll post pics up later :)
  10. :) yes i have the boot open indicator on the dash too...
  11. Well... i don't know how many of you endured that terrential rainstorm we had this evening... but if you didn't then i'll let you know it was awful.... more so for me. :( Driving down the M1 barely doing 45mph in the fast lane cos of standing water and the heavy rainfall... i hear the loudest bang you've heard in your life... my sunroof :( smashed to smitherines :( Not sure how, or what the hell happened... the rain was very loud... could've been a hailstone, a road stone, or something off another car ??? i really don't know... but i'm very upset as you can imagine. So can anyone help me source a new sunroof please... just the glass... Thanks guys.
  12. Quite possibly....if not I'll order a set @ same price as 1st GB Thanks mate, is it the same lead time on those as well? I'm in no hurry so you can send the whole lot through in one delivery :) PM me, my total £ when you need it :) Cheers

  16. Yeh right - for the sixth man down to get his laptop, every man, woman and child in the UK would have had to have been referred . . . . . . . . . four times each Are you sure? 4 times each you say? Don't mind me, i'm just going to do the maths on that. first person signs up = 1 refers 25 people = 1 + 25 = 26 (first person receives free laptop) these 25 people have 25 different friends each = 625 + 26 = 651 (second 25 receive a free laptop) these 625 refer 25 random friends = 15625 + 651 = 16276 (third batch of 625 laptops are sent out) 15625 people send this link to 25 friends = 406900 + 16276 = 423176 (15625 free laptops given away) 406900 refer another 25 DIFFERENT people = 10172500 + 423176 = 10595676 (406900 laptops FREE) I do believe the UK has over 10million internet connections, so this doesn't sound too bad to me :) just make sure you're not one of the people in the 5th round of signups :)
  17. Nice care mate... where abouts did you buy the car from... it seems heavily modded for a ex-non-LOC car.
  18. The so-called buffer margin (5%, 10%) or whatever you may think it is, is only a discretionary buffer. It is down to the safety camera partnership organisation and policing authorities to decide this. In some installations, it has been said for example: in a 40mph zone a 10% + 3mph is allowed.. giving the driver up to 7mph extra. in a different installation it has also been known for a driver on a 30mph stretch was prosecuted for doing 31mph. I also drive to the speed on my GPS device, as when i follow the speedo, everyone is always overtaking me.
  19. Don't forget to set your monitor for RGB for daily use, and CMYK if you do alot of printing. :) (i.e What you see is what you print)
  20. Am, perhaps you could upload a pic of your car with the rear wheel camber as an example of large negative camber.
  21. i dont know what Static Camber is... but this is what the rear of my IS looked like with a 50mm drop... >
  22. i heard something about ending up with Warped discs when using EBC, because of the temperatures they are capable of reaching.... ...is this true?
  23. I've been sticking with the OEM pads and discs for now.... that is until i can afford a BBK.
