This service kit will help you to do a full service (I'm not the seller btw, I bought the same kit from the same seller last year when I serviced my IS200).
You will also need some engine oil (5w-30 or 10w-40), coolant, diff oil and brake fluid.
Well I have had Yokohama C drive tyres fitted to my IS200 for 2 months now and I love them. They are quite tyres and grippy in the wet. I had Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetrics fitted before the Yokohamas- there were also very good.
I got my Yokohamas from Tyretraders (fitted at my local HiQ centre). Yokohama seem to be OE tyres for Honda and Lexus I think?
Have you checked online? Plenty of tyre suppliers are online. Try the likes of Camskill or Blackcircles. For fitting at home/office, Event tyres are also competitive.
Typical Lexus alloys- nothing changes! Had the same issue with my IS200 alloys years ago.
Your best bet is to get yours alloys striped down and get them powder coated profesionally.
This winter's salt and grit has done you no favours.
Get the car onto a diagnostic reader- without doing that its guesswork as to what the problem is. Post the code generated by the diagnostic reader up on here, there are people on here who can tell you what the problem is exactly.
Does the car drive sluggish? From what you are describing, you have at least one failed coilpack.
You need a 10mm socket- can't remember exactly, but the plastic cover that has VVTI written on it is only held down by 3-4 10mm bolts.
As for torquing the spark plugs, just torque them hand tight.
About time I updated this:
Garage door now on (In the end I decided to go for a roller type door and not sectional type of door):
I did all this work in the Utility room (floor tiling, fitting worktop & sink, fitting water heater and also wall tiling):
I also layed some flags down (the ones which the bins are sat on):
My house (with Lexus on the drive):
I would have thought the rears would be solid- the fronts are normally vented. This is the setup on the IS200 (vented discs on the front and solid discs on the back).
Try ebay for rear discs/pads.
Yeah, I clay my car about 2-3 times a year- in fact I clayed mine 2 weeks ago. Wanted to get all that salt/grit/snow out of my paintwork that my car has picked up this winter.
Here's are a few pics when its all washed/clayed/waxed:
Claybars make the paintwork smooth- they don't get rid of scratches etc.
If you want to put a coat of wax/polish etc, then its a good to clay the car. Claying will give a glass-like finish.
You can buy a Meg's clay kit from Halfords.
